Anthracnose of Rapsberry(Rubus coreanus) Caused by Colletotrichum coccodes in Korea

  • Anthracnose occurred on rapsberry grown in Gochang areas of Korea in 2003. The disease incidence was ranged from 1.1 to 2.6%. Anthracnose of rapsberry appeared as dark brown circular spots on naturally infected stems. The symptoms of infected stems were small brown to dark brown spots and gradually enlarged larger cylindrical dark brown lesions. The causal fungus of anthracnose isolated from the diseased plants was identifed as Colletotrichum coccodes based on the morphological and cultural characteristics. All isolates of C. coccodes were produced similar symptoms on the host leaves by artificial inocultion.

Monitoring of Rice Quality for Jeonju Bibimbab

  • This study was carried out to investigate the current use and the demand for Jeonju-bibimbab rice and to suggest the suitable range of bibimbab rice. We conducted a survey on varieties and rice quality of Jeonju bibimbab restaurants from April to August 2016. In a survey of 12 bibimbab restaurants in Jeonju, the restaurants showed that 83% of the 10 restaurants were using shindongjin rice variety. Characteristics of rice suitable for bibimbab were showed low stickiness, high hardness, so it should keep the shape of rice when cooked and mixed with the ingredients. and people tend to prefer a large grain of rice. Also, the rice used in bibimbab restaurants were examined the average percentages of head rice ratio 89%, protein content 6% and moisture content 14.5%. These results suggest that the quality of rice, which is suitable for bibimbab, is similar to the range of common rice. Thousand grain weight over 24g is especially preferred. In conclusion, the quality and grain size of rice preferred for bibimbab rice was the level of Shindongjin.

Changes in quantity and quality of rice at different sowing date under wet-hill seeding in Jeonbuk plain area

  • This study was carried out to provide basic data for spreading rice direct seeding by inducing stabilization of seedlings, yield and quality according to sowing times in rice direct seeding cultivation. In 2016, 'Sukwang' was seeded 3 times by 10 days interval on May. 10, 20, 30 and 6kg/10ha of seeding rate respectively in Iksan. In summary, the number of rice seedling establishment was higher than the optimum seedling establishment level at all sowing periods and the seeding rate was better as the sowing period was delayed. Weed development by sowing was the highest at early sowing, May 10, and decreased at late sowing. Heading dates were delayed by 3days for sowing on May 10, 7days for sowing on May 20, and 11 days on sowing on May 30. Rice yield increased with the delay sowing time and compared to the transplanting. It was 84% in sowing on May 10, 94% in sowing on May 20, and 99% in sowing on May 30. In addition, head rice ratio and head rice yield increased according to delayed of seedling.

케나프 생산성 향상을 위한 안정 재배기술 개발 (Development of Stable Culture Techniques for Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.))

  • 양질의 사료작물 소재로서 국내 재배기술에 대한 재배기준이 설정되어 있지 않은 케나프를 2012~2013년 2년 동안 시험처리를 통하여 파종법을 구명한 결과 케나프의 파종방법은 기계화 파종(옥수수 파종기 사용)이 가능한 점파가 수량 증가에 적합하였는데 파종거리를 $20{\times}20cm$로 할 경우 관행 $20{\times}30cm$ 처리에 비해 수량이 32% 증가한 13,641 kg/10a가 가능하였다. 케나프의 최대수량 확보를 위한 적정 파종시기는 5월 1일 이었는데 5월 1일 파종의 경우 생체수량 13,423 kg/10a로 5월 30일 파종 대비 30%가 증수되었고 조단백질 함량도 12.7%로 5월 30일 대비 16.5% 증가하였다. 제초제는 Fluazipof-p-butyl 사용이 가장 효율적이었는데 제초율이 97% 이었고 약해는 5% 이하로 안정적이었다. 케나프의 전북지역 적응성을 임실, 고창, 순창 등 3개 지역에서 확인한 결과 모두 안정적으로 재배가 가능함이 확인되었는데 3개 지역 평균 수량이 12,400 kg/10a로 옥수수에 비해 약 1.7 배 정도 수확하는 것이 가능하였다.

중소기업 수출지원 사업 활용 현황 및 개선방안에 관한 연구: 전라북도 지역을 중심으로 (A Study on the Improvement Measures for Export Support Projects for SMEs in Jeollabuk-do)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to review the export support projects in Jeollabuk-do and to provide implications to the policy makers and to the local exporters. Based on this review, the study proposes future measures to enhance the efficiency of the current Jeollabuk-do export support project. Design/methodology/approach - This study reviews export support projects in Jeollabuk-do, d examines program types and utilization status, and subsequently summarizes the key aspects of Jeollabuk-do SMEs' export support projects. Findings - This study suggests that Jeollabuk-do's export support project can become more effective through active development of overseas markets and professional integration of marketing activities, particularly focusing on regionally specialized export products. Additionally, given the crucial roles played by the government, related agencies, and local offices in improving the export capabilities of SMEs in Jeollabuk-do, there is an emphasis on the need for continuous and systematic follow-up management and the establishment of export support projects and services. Research implications or Originality - While small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Korea account for a significant portion of export activities, their actual export performance and contribution are low. The export competitiveness of SMEs, particularly those located in regions other than Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, is not improving despite various export support projects being promoted. Under the circumstances, this study provide meaningful implications to the policy makers and to the local exporters.

줄기가 강하고 밝은 화색의 절화용 안개꽃 '더블샤인' 육성 (A New Cultivar of Gypsophila paniculata 'Double Shine' with Bright Colored Flower and Strong Stem)

  • 1999년 'Bristol Fairy' 유래의 결실되는 아조변이체인 'Gyp99' 계통을 선발하였고, 계통의 실생 중 선발을 거듭한 결과, 특성이 우수한 'Gyp08-63' 계통을 선발하여 2년간 특성검정을 통해 'Double Shine' 품종을 육성하였다. 'Double Shine' 품종의 초형은 개장형이고, 잎 모양은 둥근 피침형, 소화는 꽃잎수가 많고 암술이 2개인 밝은 백색 겹꽃으로 꽃잎은 주걱형, 꽃받침 모양은 컵형인 식물체 고유 특성을 가졌다. 또한 화경이 단단하고, 흰가루병과 충해에도 강한 편이다. 여름절화 작형에서 'Double Shine' 개화는 대조품종인 'Bristol Fairy'보다 16일 늦고 절간장과 화경장이 길었으며, 측지 분화가 많고 줄기가 굵고 분지각은 작았고, 기형화 발생이 없었다.

검은콩 첨가 비율에 따른 앙금의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Black Soybean Sediments according to Different Addition Ratio of Black Soybean)

  • This study investigated the quality characteristics of black soybean sediments to diversify the availability of soybean. The cooking method selected for black soybean sediment preparation was a pressure cooking process without soaking, considering the isoflavone content. The black soybean sediments were prepared by the addition of 0, 10, 30, 50 and 100% (w/w) black soybean. When 0% to 100% black soybean was added to the black soybean sediments, the moisture and crude protein contents increased from 53.17% to 54.41% and from 12.07% to 21.68%, respectively. The total isoflavone content of the black soybean sediments was increased from 2.69 ㎍/g to 696.09 ㎍/g, respectively, by the addition of black soybean. The anthocyanin content of the black soybean sediments ranged from 279.29 ㎍/g to 387.8 ㎍/g by the addition of black soybean. The total polyphenol content and the total flavonoid content of the black soybean sediments range from 1.72 mg/g to 2.00 mg/g and 0.89 mg/g to 0.92 mg/g, respectively, by the addition of black soybean. Given the isoflavones, total polyphenol, and anthocyanin content of the black soybean sediments, it is appropriate that the ratio of added black soybeans is at least 50% after the pressure-cooking process, regardless of soaking.

전북지역 사육 소에서 첫 럼피스킨 발생 보고 (The first outbreak of lumpy skin disease in Jeollabuk-do, Korea)

  • The outbreak of lumpy skin disease (LSD), caused by LSD virus (LSDV), in Jeollabuk-do was first confirmed at a Korean cattle farm in Buan-gun on October 24, 2023. Afterwards, thirteen cases (twelve cases in Gochang-gun and a case in Imsil-gun) were further confirmed, resulting in a total of fourteen cases over 25 days until November 17, 2023. Clinical examination were conducted on infected and co-habitting cattle from the LSD-affected farms with particular focus on the presence of nodules throughout the body such as head, neck, chest, femur, head, and perineum. As a results, abnormal clinical signs were observed in fifteen cows: loss of appetite in six cows, high fever in three cows, eye mucosal nodules in a cow, nasal mucosal nodules in six cows, nodules on perineum in five cows, scrotum nodules in two cows, papillary nodules in a cow, and/or skin nodules in eleven cows. By the PCR methods, the common gene of capripox virus and/or the specific gene of LSDV were detected in 35 of the 69 cows tested this study. In the Farm1, capripox virus-specific gene, LSDV wild strain-specific gene, and LSDV vaccine strain-spcific gene were simultaneously detected in affected cows, indicating the cattle farm was affected by various strain of LSDV. As a result of combining clincal examination and PCR test, it was found that clinically and subclinically infeted cows coexist in the LSDV-infected farms. These finding in this study will be a great help in diagnosis and prevention of the LSD in Korean cattle farms.
