The aim of this study is to provide a clear and accessible method to obtain accurate true-stress strain data, and to extend the limited material data beyond the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) for AISI 304L. AISI 304L is used for the outer construction for some types of nuclear transport packages, due to its post-yield ductility and high failure strain. Material data for AISI 304L beyond UTS is limited throughout literature. 3D digital image correlation (DIC) was used during a series of uniaxial tensile experiments. Direct method extracted data such as true strain and instantaneous cross-sectional area throughout testing such that the true stress-strain response of the material up to failure could be created. Post processing of the DIC data has a considerable effect on the accuracy of the true stress-strain data produced. Influence of subset size and smoothing of data was investigated by using finite element analysis to inverse model the force displacement response in order to determine the true stress strain curve. The FE force displacement response was iteratively adapted, using subset size and smoothing of the DIC data. Results were validated by matching the force displacement response for the FE model and the experimental force displacement curve.

In this paper we consider the asymptotic mean squared error of positive part James-Stein estimators. In the normal-normal example, estimators of the mean squared error of these estimators are provided which are correct asymptotically up to O($m^{-l}$). Asymptotic estimators of the MSE's which correct up to O($m^{-l}$) are also provide. Here, m denotes the number of strata. A simulation study is undertaken to evaluate the performance of these estimators.

Consider a p-variate($p{\geq}3$) normal distribution with mean ${\theta}$ and covariance matrix ${\sum}={\sigma}^2{\mathbf{I}}_p$ for any unknown scalar ${\sigma}^2$. In this paper we improve the James-Stein estimator of ${\theta}$ in cases of shrinking toward some vectors using the Stein variance estimator. It is also shown that this domination does not hold for the positive part versions of these estimators.

For the mean vector of a p-variate normal distribution ($p{\geq}4$), the optimal estimation within the class of modified James-Stein type decision rules under the quadratic loss is given when the underlying distribution is that of a variance mixture of normals and when the norm ${\parallel}{\theta}-\bar{\theta}1{\parallel}$ it known.

Consider the problem of estimating a $p{\times}1$ mean vector ${\theta}(p-r{\geq}3)$, r = rank(K) with a projection matrix K under the quadratic loss, based on a sample $Y_1$, $Y_2$, ${\cdots}$, $Y_n$. In this paper a James-Stein type estimator with shrinkage form is given when it's variance distribution is specified and when the norm ${\parallel}{\theta}-K{\theta}{\parallel}$ is constrain, where K is an idempotent and symmetric matrix and rank(K) = r. It is characterized a minimal complete class of James-Stein type estimators in this case. And the subclass of James-Stein type estimators that dominate the sample mean is derived.

This paper proposes a multi-disciplinary approach for fashion criticism in museology through an analysis of the 2014 Charles James's retrospective. It includes the following elicitations. First, it explores a critical discussion of "dress museology" as well as "fashion museology" and the complexity of fashion in museums. Second, this paper reorganizes Fleming's (1974) artifact study and Crane and Bovone's (2006) critical theory for fashion criticism in museology by comparing "object-based" research with an "academic" approach. Third, it applies fashion criticism methodology as a case study to the aforementioned museum fashion exhibit, entitled . We can subsequently begin to reconsider concepts of art and fashion within present culture based on inclusive fashion criticism of aesthetic and cultural events.

Mediastinal paragangliomas are rare tumors that have only been reported in individual cases or limited case series. Surgical resection of these tumors can be challenging, as they are highly vascular and intimately related to the great vessels. Surgery is usually performed via median sternotomy with or without cardiopulmonary bypass. We present the case of a mediastinal paraganglioma that was resected via a left-sided posterolateral thoracotomy. Histopathology revealed a completely resected 38-mm paraganglioma with a positive station 5 lymph node, indicative of locally aggressive disease. Hereditary paragangliomas are associated with malignant transformation; therefore, genetic testing is important. These tumors do not respond well to chemoradiotherapy, and consequently lifelong surveillance for early detection of recurrence is recommended.

Since he was an exile, Henry James himself was well aware of agonies as an outsider in either Europe or America. Such an anguish is deftly depicted in the character of Felix Young with James's unique ironic tone. Unlike James, however, Felix is neither affluent nor distinguished as an artist. Nor is he supported by any patron. Furthermore, at first, he doesn't seem to survive the strict joyless environment in New England, but he possesses his own survival value. His unique esthetic value and his beautiful smile enable him to win Gertrude's heart. His adroit balance between pleasure-seeker and respect for American serious culture without hostility ultimately ends up with his marrying Gertrude. His arrival in Boston might pose a threat as Mr. Wentworth fears. Actually he subverts the traditional idea of an artist. He is armed with amiability and frankness, which are incongruous with a stereotypical idea of an artist: a willful, freakish, and self-righteous person. Felix here suggests to us that a new kind of modern art be possible. Gertrude is also a new woman who opposes to staying put under the patriarchal society. She is always wavering in and out of the house, searching for opportunities to quench her curiosity to see the world by breaking the bond of New England. Her ceaseless quest for independent values results in fortuitous encounter with a new species of artist Felix. Unlike Henry James's other novels, in which male characters assume a role of sophisticated "fortune-hunter," the union of Felix and Gertrude in The Europeans represents the compromise between two different cultures. According to Nietzsche, the birth of superman is possible by the union of Athens and Jerusalem. In other words, the matrimony of Felix and Gertrude means the commingling of his liberal arts and Gertrude's moral seriousness might contribute to the birth of the new culture.
