  • In this paper we consider inverse problem for a general class of nonlinear stochastic differential equations on Hilbert spaces whose generating operators (drift, diffusion and jump kernels) are unknown. We introduce a class of function spaces and put a suitable topology on such spaces and prove existence of optimal generating operators from these spaces. We present also necessary conditions of optimality including an algorithm and its convergence whereby one can construct the optimal generators (drift, diffusion and jump kernel).

Does Kinesio Taping Improve Vertical Jumping Performance?

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effect of kinesio taping (KT) on vertical jumping performance. Methods: Young women (n=24) performed vertical jumping under three conditions: kinesio taping, placebo taping, and no taping. All tapes were applied to both quadriceps and the gastrocnemius of the subjects. Vertical jump height and power were measured using an OptoGait, and the non-parametric Friedman test was used to identify differences between conditions. Results: No significant differences in maximum jump height or peak jump power between were observed between taping conditions. Conclusion: The results showed that KT did not facilitate muscle performance by generating higher jumping power or yielding a better jumping performance. As the functional performance is related to muscle strength, this finding may be explained by the fact that KT has no effects on muscle strength.

  • Inertial navigation system(INS) errors increase with time due to inertial sensor errors, and therefore it is desired to combine INS with external aids such as GPS. However GPS informations have a randomly abrupt jump due to a sudden corruption of the received satellite signals and environment, and moreover GPS can\`t provide navigation solutions. In this paper, smoothing and prediction schemes are proposed for GPS`s jump or unavailable GPS. The smoothing algorithm which is designed as a scalar adaptive filter, smooths abrupt jump. The prediction algorithm which is proved by Schuler error model of INS, estimates INS error in appropriate time. The outputs of proposed algorithm apply stable measurements to GPS aided INS Kalman filter. Simulations show that the proposed algorithm can effectively remove measurement jump and predict INS error.

  • This paper describes a power quality disturbance generator for the test of a microgrid. The generator provides phase-angle jump as well as voltage sag with simple structure. The main components of the generator are SCR thyristors and transformers, therefore, high reliability and high efficiency can be obtained without switching losses. The operating principle of the proposed scheme is described and the voltage and current characteristics in case of voltage sag with phase-angle jump is analyzed. The usefulness of the proposed topology is verified through simulations and experimental results.

  • 본 연구는 이러한 뇌파 바이오피드백 원리를 적용하여 뇌파를 유도하고 유도된 상태에 대한 피드백을 제공함으로써 사용자 스스로 자신의 뇌파 상태를 조절하도록 하는 장치로 개발된 Q0jump 시스템의 효과성을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구 방법에 있어서 뇌파 측정 장비와 Q-jump를 동시에 측정함으로써 Q-jump 시스템의 타당성을 검증하였으며, 또한 뇌파유도 프로그램을 사용하여 그 효과성을 입증하려 했다. 그 결과 Q-jump 시스템과 뇌파 측정장비에서 얻어진 결과가 유의한 상관을 가짐을 보았다. 상대적 출현량에 있어서 뇌파 유도프로그램을 사용했을 때, 전두엽 부분에서 slow alpha 는 유의한 증가를, fast beta는 유의한 감소를 나타냈다. 후속 연구에 있어서는 통제집단을 이용한 보다 면밀한 검증 연구가 필요하다.

  • We consider jump processes which has only downward jumps with size a fixed fraction of the current process. The jumps of the pro cesses are interpreted as crashes and we assume that the jump intensity is a nondecreasing function of the current process say $\lambda$(X) (X = X(t) process). For the case of $\lambda$(X) = $X^{\alpha}$, $\alpha$ > 0, we show that the process X shold explode in finite time, say $t_e$, conditional on no crash For the case of $\lambda$(X) = (lnX)$^{\alpha}$, we show that $\alpha$ = 1 is the borderline of two different classes of processes. We generalize the model by adding a Brownian noise and examine the blow up properties of the sample paths.

MINIMAL LOCALLY STABILIZED Q1-Q0 SCHEMES FOR THE GENERALIZED STOKES PROBLEM

  • In this paper, some novel discrete formulations for stabilizing the mixed finite element method Q1-Q0 (bilinear velocity and constant pressure approximations) are introduced and discussed for the generalized Stokes problem. These are based on stabilizing discontinuous pressure approximations via local jump operators. The developing idea consists in a reduction of terms in the local jump formulation, introduced earlier, in such a way that stability and convergence properties are preserved. The computer implementation aspects and numerical evaluation of these stabilized discrete formulations are also considered. For illustrating the numerical performance of the proposed approaches and comparing the three versions of the local jump methods alongside with the global jump setting, some obtained results for two test generalized Stokes problems are presented. Numerical tests confirm the stability and accuracy characteristics of the resulting approximations.

A Study of Muzzle Jumping in the Firing Operation (총구 앙등현상의 분석과 감소 방안)

  • In the firing operation, muzzle jumping phenomenon was investigated, and a method of reducing muzzle jump was suggested. The muzzle jumping force was determined from the torque acting on the rifle due to a recoil force. For the purpose of reducing a muzzle jump, the gas flowing through the M16A1 flash suppressor was considered. A flash suppressor, improved in reducing a muzzle imp, was modeled and tested. The experiment shows that muzzle jump has quantitative relation to shape of a flash suppressor, and can be reduced by the improved modeling of a flash suppressor.

  • This paper deals with power quality disturbance generator with phase jump function. The proposed generator can be applied to the performance test of custom power devices. Voltage sag, swell, outage, unbalance and phase jump after outage are provided by the generator. The phase jump operating principle of the generator is described and analysed. The control scheme of the disturbance generator is simple and hardware setup is cost effective compared with the conventional scheme. The usefulness of the generator is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper describes output characteristics analysis of outage and phase jump generator for microgrid. The outage and phase jump can be generated with 3-phase voltage disturbance generator. As soon as the outage occurs the STS(Solid Transfer Switch)s are switched off. At the beginning of the outage the PCS is required to limit the reverse current within the rated PCS output current. In case of phase jump the PCS output voltage phase should be adjusted. The generator output characteristics are analysed through simulation.
