  • Recently the exoskeletal power assistive equipment which is a kind of wearable robot has been widely developed to help the human body motion. For the elderly people and patients, however, some limits exist due to the weight and volume of the equipments. As a feasible solution, a tendon-driven exoskeletal power assistive device fur the lower body, and caster walker are proposed in this research. Since the caster walker carries the heavy items, the weight and volume of the wearable exoskeleton are minimized. The key control is used to generate the joint torque required to assist motions such as sitting, standing and walking. Experiments were performed for several motions and the EMG sensors were used to measure the magnitude of assistance. When the motion of sitting down and standing up was compared with and without wearing the proposed device, the $25\%$ assistance was acquired.

  • In this paper we investigate the application to the motion control of n-link robotic manipulators of recently developed stable factorization approach to tracking and disturbance rejection. Given control scheme consists of an approximate "Computed Torque" based upon a simplified model together with additional state feedback and feedforward compensation, and then, nonlinear control gain has more useful than constant control gain to guarantee robustness to parameter uncertainty and external disturbance. At this stage, we design high gain nonlinear state feedback controller and simulate this controller at the SCARA type robot manipulator of two joint.

  • A conventional robotic manipulator is usually a very complicated system whose dynamics is too computationally time consuming for dynamic analysis and real time control. The authors have proposed the general design criteria of the robot links which greatly simplify the robot dynamic characteristics. In this paper these design guidelines are applied to a 6 degree of freedom PUMA 560 robot in order to realize actual implementation of the design concept. Based upon the design concept, the dynamic equations of the redesigned robot were derived. Dynamic characteristics of two systems, the ideally designed and conventional robot, are compared with respect to the joint input torque characteristics and degree of the coupling between the robot joints.

  • An effective visual servo control system for robotic manipulators based on neural networks is proposed. For this control system, firstly, one neural network is used to learn the mapping relationship between the robot's joint space and the video image space. However, in the proposed control scheme, this network is not used in itself, but its first and second derivatives are used to generate servo commands for the robot. Secondly, an adaptive Adaline network is used to identify the dynamics of the robot and also to generate the proper torque commands. Computer simulation has been performed indicating its superior performance. As far as the authors know, this is the first time attempt of the use of neural networks for a visual servo control of robots that compensates for their changing dynamics.

  • We developed a human-sized BWR(biped walking robot) named KUBIR1 driven by a new actuator based on the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. KUBIR1 was developed to walk autonomously such that it is actuated by small torque motors and is boarded with DC battery and controllers. To utilize the information on the human walking motion and to analyze the walking mode of robot, a motion capture system was developed. The system is composed of the mechanical and electronic devices to obtain the joint angle data. By using the obtained data, a 3-D graphic interface was developed based on the OpenGL tool. Through the graphic interface, the control input of KUBIR1 is performed.

  • We developed a new type of human-sized BWR (biped walking robot) driven by a new actuator based on the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. Each leg of the robot is composed of three pitch joints and one roll joint. In all, a 10 degree-of-freedom robot with two balancing joints was developed. A new type of actuator for the robot is proposed, which is composed of four bar link mechanism driven by the ball screw. The robot overcomes the limit of the driving torque of conventional BWRs. The BWR was designed to walk autonomously by adapting small DC motors for the robot actuators and has a space to board DC battery and controllers. In the performance test, the BWR performed sitting-up and down motion, and walking motion. Through the test, we found the possibility of a high performance biped-walking.

  • This paper is to study vibration effects of the dynamic vibration absorber. Multi-body dynamic analysis is carried out for the vehicle driveline model using ADAMS with flexible propeller shaft attached with the vibration damper. Primary bending mode frequency of the propeller shaft is obtained from the simulation and coincides with the experimental result. Various design parameters are studied in dynamic simulation operated by the engine torque input. This paper identifies the responses of dynamic vibration absorbers in the driveline with propeller shaft, which will be used to find out optimal design parameters.

  • Although there are some calculations of kinetics, dynamics, torque of each joint, size and weight which are used in implementing of humanoid robot, it is too expensive and need much education to make frame of robot body, actuator, and etc. Moreover, since there is lots of differences of operational principle, we need many kinds of experimental and education. However, the real humanoid robot is difficult to propagate because of its prices and other technical problems. Therefore we need small robot platform and control method which can give a enough education effect as similar as real humanoid robot. In this paper, the Kinect Sensor which made by Microsoft will be used for control method of humanoid platform.

  • With increased loads in steered wheels and wider section tires the effort required at the steering wheel makes the driver's job very tiring and difficult. Improvements such as an increase in the mechanical efficiency of the steering system or lower steering box ratios help the reduce driver fatigue. Now using of power steering is increasing. It needs to be considering parts size of steering system as using power steering. This paper presents adjust part size of steering system form estimating reliability according to reducing torque under the dynamic load, In this paper, the spider of universial joint is selected to prove relation between steering and power steering reliability.

  • In this paper, it is attempted to derive the minimum torque as the optimal value on each joint, which is applied during a PTP-motion in the range of working area of a supposed industrial robot. The rupposed industrial robot consits of 3-R joints prepared on three links, The optimizational analysis is performed by the formulation of a variational calculus process due to Rayleigh-Ritz method. That is, the torques of the inverse dynamic problem on joints in a arbitrary positions are computed by a generalized inertia matrix method.
