  • This study is intended to historical research the Jebok(ritual robes) of Jirisan Namakje. Joseon Dynasty established Five Manners as a country-ruling policy on the basis of Confucianism, the religious clothes-wearing method has been established through Sejong Silok Five Manners and the ritual robes system of all the government officials has been handed down to the end of Joseon Dynasty. The ritual robes of all the government officials was worn at the timed of the religious ceremony included ritual manners, and ritual robes are composed of Yanggwan, Ui, Sang, Jungdan, Peasul, Hwan, Wu(a cord, a leather belt, a belt, jade, a mace, Bangsimgokryeong, Mal, Ri, etc., and the rank was classified by the number of the veritical line of Ynaggwan, a leather belt, Hwan, Wu and jade and typeof a mace. "Jongmyouigwe" during the reign of king Sukjong described exactly the Uicha and textile of the ritual robes at that time, the textile Ui used Heukju as same as "Jegiakgidogamuigwe", and jade was used only in case of the first rank ritual official and other government officials did not wear jase. Also, it was revealed that all officials used a wooden mace, and in case of Husu, the first rank ritual official used Jikseong and other official used a picture.

  • This study measured soil respiration in pine forests dominated by Pinus densiflora in Mt. Jeombong, Mt. Namsan, Mt. Jirisan in Republic of Korea from 2009 to 2010. The seasonal variations, along with temperature and soil moisture content, were measured to understand the characteristics at each site. Soil respiration was highest in summer and autumn, closely influenced by the increase in soil temperature. Throughout the measurement period, soil respiration ranged from 205.6 to 312.2 mg CO2 m-2 h-1, with Mt. Namsan showing the highest values and Mt. Jirisan the lowest. A strong correlation was observed between soil respiration and soil temperature, with Q10 values ranging from 2.5 to 3.0. Precipitation significantly affected soil moisture content, and although it appeared to influence soil respiration, no significant correlation was found.

  • Hwagae area, which is situated in the southeastern part of the Jirisan province, Yeongnam massif, Korea, is mainly composed of Precambrian Jirisan metamorphic rock complex (JMRC). Lithofacies distribution of the Precambrian constituent rocks mainly shows NS-trending tight fold and EW-trending open fold. This paper researched deformational phased structural characteristics of JMRC based on the geometric and kinematic features and the forming sequence of multi-deformed rock structures, and suggests that the geological structure of this area was formed through at least three phases of ductile deformation. (1) Most of structural elements related to the $D_1$ deformation were recognized as $S_{0-1-2}$ composite foliation which was transposed by the $D_2$ deformation. (2) The $D_2$ deformation occurred under the EW-directed tectonic compression, and formed the NS-trending $F_2$ fold and $D_2$ ductile shear zone which is (sub)parallel to the axial plane of $F_2$ fold. (3) The $D_3$ deformation occurred under the NS-directed tectonic compression, and partially reoriented the pre-$D_3$ structural elements into ENE or WNW direction. It indicates that the distribution of Precambrian lithofacies showing NS and EW-trending folds in the Hwagae area is closely associated with the $D_2$ and $D_3$ deformations, respectively.

  • Jirisan National Park was designated on December 29, 1967 as the first national park in Korea and that caused continuous conflicts between the violation of the right to hold property in this area due to several regulations following the designation and the nature preservation for the value of heritage for descendants. Thus, the objective of this study is to find a proposal for making decision based on the rationality that is able to solve these conflicts. To achieve the objective of this study, this study applies a game theory that supports a reasonable decision making process for solving these conflicts between interest groups around Jirisan National Park in which the component of this game consists of Jirisan National Park, residents, and interest groups. The Nash equilibrium obtained by the analysis of the strategy of interest groups for the use and preservation of forests and its rewards from the strategy as an nonecooperative game showed a behavior that chases their own benefits and causes lots of troubles. However, in the case of the results obtained from a cooperative game based on the strategy that includes some public interests accepted by interest groups and its rewards, it represented an aspect that solves conflicts through achieving a strategical set, which shows a win-win outcome even though the results of this cooperative game may present less rewards than that of the Nash equilibrium. Whereas, if there exists the public interests accepted by interest groups and truth for protecting such public interests, it is considered that it becomes a way that solves present structural troubles in the National Parks in Korea due to the fact that there exist uncertainties caused by the human rationality.

Comparison of National Park Visitors' Recreational Experiences in terms of Awareness about the Presence of Wildlife and Wildlife Species (Asiatic black bear and Water Deer) (야생동물의 존재에 대한 인지 및 야생동물의 종류(곰과 고라니)에 따른 국립공원 방문객의 휴양경험 비교)

  • This study examined the effects of wildlife or wildlife species on national park visitors' perception of place attributes and recreational experiences. Data were collected from 502 users of Seongsamjae Rest area and Nogodan Shelter area in Jirisan National Park and 173 college students during May-June 2014 using survey questionnaire. Some simulated photographs of water deer and Asiatic black bears were used for the college student survey. Overall, awareness about wildlife inhabiting in Jirisan National Park (AW) was not related with one's perception of place attributes (PPA) (i.e., crowdedness, naturalness, safety) and types of visitors' recreational experiences. Respondents with higher awareness about the presence of Asiatic black bear (AABB), however, tended to perceive Jirisan National Park as a place that provides 'wild' or 'natural' recreational opportunities compared to those with lower AABB. Differences in PPA (i.e., crowdedness, naturalness, safety) and types of recreational experiences were also found to be influenced by wildlife species. Respondents exposed to bear or water deer tended to perceive their recreational experiences as more 'wild'. Existence of wildlife in Jirisan National Park had a positive effect on the quality of visitors' recreational experiences. Different wildlife species showed different levels of effectiveness to quality enhancement of recreational experience. Some practical implications of the study were discussed from a managerial point of view.

  • The objectives of this paper are to estimate home range and core habitat area of wild bores in Jirisan National Park of Korea. A radio-telemetry study was carried out on 5 wild boar individuals (3 females and 2 males). Except one individual whose enough data could not be collected, the mean home range size of 4 individuals was $5.13km^2$ (95% kernel) and mean core habitat area was $1.18{\pm}0.31km^2$ (50% kernel). Home-range sizes of 2 females were $6.21km^2\;and\;5.45km^2$ each, and that of 2 males were $5.15km^2\;and\;3.72km^2$ each, which means home-ranges of female boars were larger than those of male boars in this research. This result is presumed to have been caused by the fact that the males were sub adult individuals weighing 40 kg and 19 kg when they were captured for this research.
