$M\"{o}ssbauer$ studies of $NdFe_{10.7}TiM{0.3}(M\;=\;B,\;Ti)$ ($NdFe_{10.7}TiM{0.3}(M\;=\;B,\;Ti)$$M\"{o}ssbauer$ 연구)

  • The authors have studied crystallographic and magrletic properties of $NdFe_{10.7}TiM_{0.3}(M=B,\;Ti)$ by X-ray diffraction, VSM magnetometer, and Mossbauer spectrometer. The Alloys were prepared by arc-melting under argon atmosphere. The $NdFe_{10.7}TiM_{0.3}$ has pure single phase, whereas the $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ contains some $\alpha-Fe$, from powder X-ray diffractometry. The $NdFe_{10.7}TiM_{0.3}$ has the $ThMn_{12}$-type tetragonal structure with $a_{0}=8.587\;{\AA}\;and\;c_{0}=4.788\;{\AA}$. The Curie temperature ($T_c$) is $570{\pm}3\;K$ from $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy performed at various temperatures ranging from 13 to 770 K. Each spectrum of below $T_c$ was fitted with five subspectra of Fe sites in the structure ($8i_{1},\;8i_{2},\;8j_{1},\;8j_{2}\;and\;8f$). The area fraction of the subspectra at room temperature are 16.4, 8.2, 14.8, 21.3 and 39.3 %, respectively. Magenetic hyperfine fields for the Fe sites decrease in the order, $H_{hf}(8i)>H_{hf}(8j)>H_{hf}(8f)$.

A NUMERICAL SIMULATION METHOD FOR FREE SURFACE FLOWS NEAR MOVING BODIES IN A FIXED RECTANGULAR GRID SYSTEM (고정된 직사각형 격자계에서 움직이는 물체주위 자유수면유동 계산을 위한 수치기법의 개발)

  • In this research a numerical simulation method is developed for moving body in free surface flows using fixed staggered rectangular grid system. The non-linear free surface near the body is defined by marker-density method. The body boundary is defined by line segment connecting the points where the body surface and grid line meet. Continuity equation and Navier-Stokes equations are used as governing equations and the equations are coupled with two-step projection method. The velocities and pressures of body boundary and free surface cells are calculated with simultaneous iterative method. To treat a body movement in a fixed grid system, the volume displaced by moving body is added to the divergence of the body boundary cell. For the verification of the present numerical method. vortex shedding period of advancing cylinder is calculated and the period is compared with existing experiment results. Moreover, added mass and damping coefficients of a vertically excited box are calculated and the computed results are compared with published experiment results. Impulsive pressure and water level variation due to sloshing phenomenon are simulated and the results are compared with published experiment results. Varying the plunger shape, the waves generated by plunging type wave maker are compared with the 2nd order Stokes wave theory The plunger shape generating the wave that shows the best agreement with the theory is represented.

  • Changes in transmission and thermoluminescent characteristics were used in order to find out the optimum growth condition of CsI single crystal scintillators which were made relatively defect-free using Czochralski method. Impurity distribution in the crystals and the intensity and number of thermoluminescent glow peaks decreased as the process of crystallization was repeated. The direction of crystal growth turned out to be (110), the crystal structure of grown CsI was bee, and its lattice constant was found to be $4.568{\AA}$. The activation energy (trap depths) of CsI:3rd was 0.45 eV and its frequency factor was $5.18{\times}10^5\;sec^{-1}$.

  • The lattice parameters of stoichiometric $UO_2$ and $U_{1-y}Er_{y}O_2$ in the range of y=0.01 to y =0.33 were determined with use of X-ray diffraction data. Oxygen potentials have been measured by means of a thermogravimetric method in the range of 1200~$1500^{\circ}C$ and $10^{-14}$ $\leq$ $Po_2$ $\leq$ $10^{-3}$ for pure $UO_2$ and $U_{1-y}Er_{y}O_{2{\pm}x}$ solid solutions with y=0.02, y=0.06 and y=0.20, respectively. Their oxygen partial pressures were maintained by controlling $CO_2$/CO mixture atmosphere, and the $Po_2$ values corresponding to x of $U_{1-y}Er_{y}O_{2{\pm}x}$ solid solutions were measured with an electrolyte oxygen sensor. The lattice parameter decreases linearly with an increase in the erbium content. The change of the lattice parameter can be expressed in a linear equation of y as a($\AA$) =5.4695-0.220y for 0 $\leq$y$\leq$0.33. The experimental coefficient of y -0.220 in $U_{1-y}Er_{y}O_2$ was an intermediate value between the calculated values -0.273 and -0.156 in the case of $U^{5+}$ and $U^{6+}$, respectively. The (equation omitted) has been found to undergo abrupt increase in the range of -360 to -270 kJ/mole for y=0.06 and -320 to -220 H/mole for y=0.20, respectively, in the temperature range of 1200-$1500^{\circ}C$. (equation omitted) increases with erbium content, but the effect of the dopant for x =0.01 is less significant than that for stoichiometry. The oxygen potentials for $UO_2$ and $U_{0.98}Er_{0.02}O_{2+x}$ can be approximately represented by the $U^{5+}$/$U^{4+}$ model but those for y$\geq$ 0.06 in $U_{1-y}Er_{y}O_{2{\pm}x}$ solid solutions cannot be interpreted by the mean uranium valence model.

  • 기포반응도는 월성발전소를 비롯한 CANDU형 원자로의 주된 안전성 쟁점사안으로 끊임없이 논의되어 왔다. 이는 설계기준사고가 노심에서 열에너지 불균형이 원인이 되어 기준이상의 핵연료 파손과 방사성물질 누출로 발전할 위험이 있는 사건들로 정의될 때, 사건 진행 과정에 기포반응도 증가는 조기에 운전중단을 실패할 경우 출력폭주로 이어지므로 사건의 결말이 중대사고로 전환될 위험이 크기 때문이다. 본 연구는 공개된 최신 핵자료인 ENDF/B-VII.0를 NJOY.99로 처리한 연속에너지 반응단면적 라이브러리를 구축하고 MCNP-4C에 접속하여 37봉 천연우라늄 핵연료다발의 표준노심격자에 대한 기포반응도를 시뮬레이션하여, 지금까지 각종문헌에 제시된 값들과 비교, 종합하므로 내제된 불확실성을 추정하는 내용이다. ENDF/B-VII.0 기반 MCNP-4C의 CANDU 노심격자 모델은 동일한 핵자료와 핵종농도를 사용한 WIMS-IAEA 모델과 비교할 때, 초기 노심의 임계도 오차 약 3.51mk가 연소 진행에 따라 $7.5\times10^{-4}mk$/MWD/teU의 비율로 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 MCNP-4C 예측기포반응도는 초기노심에서 기포율 50% 및 100%에 대해 각각 8.38 및 15.96mk, 평형노심에서 7.68 및 14.72mk로 계산된다. 이는 월성 2, 3, 4 FSAR의 초기노심 및 평형노심에서 100% 기포상태에 대한 값, 약15.0 및 10.6mk와 비교할 때, 초기노심은 약 1.0mk 평형노심은 약4, 1mk 보수적이지만, 다른 연구결과들과는 최대오차 ${\pm}1{\sim}2mk$ 이내에서 잘 일치하는 것으로 평가되었다. 본 연구는 CANDU 노심의 기포반응도 불확실성 요인의 규명 및 영향평가를 위한 노력의 일부로서 앞으로 감속재의 붕산농도 변화, 감속재 및 냉각재의 중수 순도 변화, 기기노화에 의한 격자 구조 및 물성 변화, 중성자속 및 출력 분포 불균형, 반응도조절장치의 위치, 등 주요 설계변수의 변화에 대한 반응도영향 분석연구를 계속할 계획이다.

Fabrication of [320×256]-FPA Infrared Thermographic Module Based on [InAs/GaSb] Strained-Layer Superlattice ([InAs/GaSb] 응력 초격자에 기초한 [320×256]-FPA 적외선 열영상 모듈 제작)

  • An infrared thermographic imaging module of [$320{\times}256$] focal-plane array (FPA) based on [InAs/GaSb] strained-layer superlattice (SLS) was fabricated, and its images were demonstrated. The p-i-n device consisted of an active layer (i) of 300-period [13/7]-ML [InAs/GaSb]-SLS and a pair of p/n-electrodes of (60/115)-period [InAs:(Be/Si)/GaSb]-SLS. FTIR photoresponse spectra taken from a test device revealed that the peak wavelength (${\lambda}_p$) and the cutoff wavelength (${\lambda}_{co}$) were approximately $3.1/2.7{\mu}m$ and $3.8{\mu}m$, respectively, and it was confirmed that the device was operated up to a temperature of 180 K. The $30/24-{\mu}m$ design rule was applied to single pixel pitch/mesa, and a standard photolithography was introduced for [$320{\times}256$]-FPA fabrication. An FPA-ROIC thermographic module was accomplished by using a $18/10-{\mu}m$ In-bump/UBM process and a flip-chip bonding technique, and the thermographic image was demonstrated by utilizing a mid-infrared camera and an image processor.

A Numerical Study on the Generation and Propagation of Intake Noise in the Reciprocating Engine (엔진 흡기계의 소음발생 및 전파에 관한 수치연구)

  • 엔진소음을 소음특성에 따라 분류하면 공력소음(Aerodynamic Noise), 연소소음(Combustion Noise), 기계적인 소음(Mechanical Noise)으로 나눌 수 있으며 소음원의 종류에 따라 분류하면 배기계소음(Exhaust System Noise)으로 나눌 수 있으며 소음원의 종류에 따라 분류하면 배기계소음(Exhaust System Noise), 흡기계소음(Intake System Noise), 냉각계소음(Cooling System Noise), 엔진표면소음(Engine System Noise)등으로 분류할 수 있다. 이러한 여러소음중 엔진 내부의 유동에 의한 흡배기계통으로의 소음방출은 자동차 실 내외 소음의 중요한 문제로 대두되는데, 이를 줄이기 위해 그 동안 소음기 등의 서브시스템의 형태와 그 위치조정에 관한 연구가 수행되어 왔다. 그러나 이것이 비용 또는 성능에 영향을 미치므로 본질적인 소음원을 규명해 내는 것이 필요하게 되었다. 흡배기계의 소음은 엔진의 흡입, 배기행 정시 피스톤의 운동에 의해 팽창 및 압축파 형태의 압력파(pressure wave)로 발생하게 되고, 밸브근방에서는 유동의 박리(separation)에 의해 발생하게 된다. 소음기 등의 서브시스템에서도 유동의 박리에 의해 발생하게 되며 특히 배기행정시 발생하는 압력파는 비선형영역에 있게된다. 흡기소음은 배기에 비해 그 크기가 작아서 그동안 등한시 되어왔으나 이것이 소비자의 불평요인으로 작용하므로써 이에 대한 연구도 활발히 수행되어야 한다. Bender, Bramer[1]는 흡배기계 소음의 외부 방사에 관하여 전반적으로 기술하였고 Sierens등[2]은 흡기계에서 1차원 MOC(Method of Characteristics)방법으로 비정상 유동해석을 하고 실험결과와 비교하였다. J.S.Lamancusa 등[3]은 흡기 소음원을 실험을 통해 예측하였고, 흡기소음도 비선형 거동을 보인다고 밝혔다. Yositaka Nishio 등[4]은 새로운 흡기실험장치를 고안하여 공명기(resonator)의 위치 변화에 의한 저소음 흡기계를 설계 초기단계에서부터 적용하려 하였다. 일반적으로 흡배기계의 복잡한 형상 때문에 대부분 실험을 통해 문제를 해결하려 하였고, 수치해석은 피스톤의 운동을 배제한 단순화한 흡배기계의 정상상태 유동해석이 주를 이루어왔다. Taghaui and Dupont 등[5]은 KIVA코드를 사용하여 흡기포트와 연소실 그리고 밸브의 움직임을 동시에 고려한 수치해석을 도입하였다. 하지만 이들이 밸브의 운동을 고려하기 위해 사용한 이동격자는 격자점은 시간에 따라 변화하지만 그 격자의 수가 일정하게 유지되어 있어서 밸브의 완전개폐를 해석할 수가 없다. 강희정[6]은 단일 실린더와 단일 배기밸브를 갖는 문제로 단순화하여 피스톤과 밸브의 움직임을 고려하므로써 배기행정 후 소음이 어떻게 전파해 나가는가를 연구하였다. 본 연구에서도 최소밸브간격과 최대밸브간격 사이에서만 계산이 가능하나 흡기의 경우는 밸브가 닫힐 때 생기는 압력파가 중요하므로 실린더와 밸브사이에 벽면조건을 주어 밸브의 개폐를 모사하였다.

Magnetoresistive Effect in Ferromagnetic Thin Films( II) (강자성체 박막(Co-Ni)의 자기-저항효과에 관한 연구(II))

  • Grid type 70Ni-30Co thin films on slide glass at $250^{\circ}C$ has been fabricated to develope. From fabricated sensors using above process, we investigated the relation of temperature, resistivity, line width to magnetoresistance and we obtained the following results after observation of coercive force, saturated magnetization, maxium usable sensitivity, delay time, slew rate, white noise, resolution of the sensors. We confirmed that the $600{\AA}$ thin film at $250^{\circ}C$ formed crystalized magnetic anisotropy spontaneously and the sensor using the thin film had capability of detecting magnetic field with sensitivity of 230 nT. In these devices, the magnetoresistance change was increased linearly in ${\pm}10$ Oe range, and the magnetoresistance effect was increased when the ratio between line width and length was increased. When the devices was soldered using indium, the temperature-resistivity coefficient showed $8{\times}10^{-3}/deg$ and increased during the specific properties as magnetic field sensor were weakened. In this studies, the coercive forces of the films were about 5.1 A/cm and saturated magnetizations were 0.64 T, and the delay time in these devises was $5{\mu}s$ and slew rate showed 0.39 $Oe/{\mu}s$ and white noise was -120 dB.

Grid Based Rainfall-Runoff Modeling Using Storage Function Method (저류함수기법을 이용한 격자기반의 강우-유출 모형 개발)

  • According to the report of hydrologic modeling study, from a quantitative point of view, a lumped model is more efficient than a distributed model. A distributed model has to simplify geospatial characteristics for the shake of restricted application on computer calculation and field observation. In this reason, a distributed model can not help having some errors of water quantity modelling. However, considering a distribution of rainfall-runoff reflected spatial characteristics, a distributed model is more efficient to simulate a flow of surface water, The purpose of this study is modeling of spatial rainfall-runoff of surface water using grid based distributed model, which is consisted of storage function model and essential basin-channel parameters( slope, flow direction & accumulation), and that procedure is able to be executed at a personal computer. The prototype of this model is developed in Heongseong Multipunose Dam basin and adapted in Hapchon Multipurpose Dam basin, which is larger than the former about five times. The efficiency coefficients in result of two dam basin simulations are more than about 0.9, but ones at the upstream water level gauge station meet with bad result owing to overestimated rating curves in high water level. As a result of this study, it is easily implemented that spatially distributed rainfall-runoff model using GIS, and geophysical characteristics of the catchment, hereafter it is anticipated that this model is easily able to apply rainfall data by real time.

The $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ has the $ThMn_{12}$-type tetragonal struc-ture with $a_{0}=8.607{\AA}\;and\;c_{0}=4.790{\AA}$. The Curie temperature ($T_c$) of the $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ is 590 K from $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy performed at various temperatures ranging from 13 to 800 K. Each spectrum below $T_c$ was fitted with six subspectra of Fe sites in the structure$(8i_{1},\;8i_{2},\;8j_{2},\;8j_{1},\;8f\;and\;{\alpha}-Fe)$. The area fractions of the subspectra at room temperature are 13.8%, 15.4%, 17%, 16.4%, 34.1% and 3.3%, respectively. Magenetic hyperfine fields for the Fe sites decrease in the order, $H_{hf}(8i)>H_{hf}(8j)>H_{hf}(8f)$. The abrupt changes in the magnetic hyperfine field, isomer shift and magnetic moment observed at about 180 K in $NdFe_{10.7}Ti_{1.3}$ are attributed to spin reorientation.
