  • The letters and marks on the hull of vessels are marked by welding bead or steel plate to resist the corrosion environment. It has done by manual work. So, it cause deterioration of welding quality and process delay and so on. The automated welding device for draft mark has developed partially in the field of shipbuilding. But it can be used for draft mark only. And it has caused a few problems about that workablity and movablity are decreased owing to the size and weight of device. So we developed the automated welding device that can be used for most letters and marks on the hull. It designed to 3 axises mobile robot include to ratoation axis and stand alone type controller with multi GUI base on imbedded windows.

  • With the development of computer program in calculation for torsional vibration of ship's propulsion shafting it has become possible to calculate all order's vibratory amplitude, vibratory torque, vibratory stress and synthesis value at all concerned revolutions by way of solving the vibratory equation directly. Though this kind of propulsion shafting vibration calculation method makes it possible to get generalized and precise result of calculation, the unexpected critical crankshaft torsional vibration has still appeared in maneuvering range of the engine. A close investigation has been carried out to find out the cause for the 2-node propulsion shafting torsional vibration of the crankshaft that exceeded the limitation value near the MCR 104rpm on the sea trial of the recently delivered 6000TEU class container vessel from HHIC. In conclusion, as the latest super-output engine with heavy crankshaft and propeller mass seems to be liable to 2-node torsional vibration of crankshaft, it is recommend that, in the design stage of propulsion shafting, its torsional vibration condition must be more carefully checked.

  • Recently many environmental researcher are concerned about the ecological environment and the issue of environmental pollution in cave. In this paper we discuss about air pollution, water pollution, state of water quality, ecological environment and situation of environmental public damage in cave The concerning of air pollution in cave is mainly to the type of secondary contamination, which much is developed in various fields recently. The natural water in the most of cave is no problems but ground water has slitting with natural water during much raining period. The state of water quality is gradually contaminated with artificial environmental pollution, that is, the contents of kinds of Aluminum, Nickel, Copper, Zinc and Calcium are higher than before. On the other hand it is very important things to keep the control of constant temperature, darkness and humidity in cave. The contamination by lamp flora and even black colored contamination are appeared nowadays. The ecological environment in cave destructed by growing of mi coorganism. In fact the internal of cave is shielded with the state of climate of cave external but the environment of internal cave is contaminated, because blowing from external climate state. In addition to environmental pollution caused by carbon dioxide and body temperature of tourists. By the way eco-examination of cave is black color public damage, green color one and white color one has been discovered, so we need to have the situation of demand of environmental reservation alternatives.

  • A lot of researches on a linear induction motor(LIM) have been advanced to realize a traction system with high efficiency and performance for railway transit for a long time. However, most of them are limited in design of a LIM part such as Primary and Secondary. At a LIM which is traveling, the change of an air-gap(It occurs by a construction tolerance of a secondary reaction plate) becomes the cause which decreases a smoother ride and the efficiency of railway transit system. Therefore, uniform air-gap operation of LIM is important issue to improve the system efficiency. However, the researches which control the air-gap length of the LIM with technical and high-cost problem have been not advanced a lot. Therefore, in this research, it is introduced an air-gap control system for performance test machine of a scale-downed LIM which is able to control the air-gap length of the LIM and monitor a variety of performance changes of the propulsion system, and conducted a research on feasibility of the system based on characteristic analysis.

  • Bolt degradation has become a major issue in the nuclear industry since the 1980's due to failure during operation. If small cracks in stud bolt are not detected early enough, they grow rapidly and cause catastrophic disasters. Their detection, despite its importance, is known to be a very difficult problem due to the complicated structures of the stud bolts. This paper presents a method of detecting and sizing a small crack in the root between two adjacent crests in threads. The key idea is from the fact that the Rayleigh wave propagates slowly along a crack from the tip to the opening and is reflected from the opening mouth. When there exists a crack, a small delayed pulse due to the Rayleigh wave is detected between large regularly spaced pulses from the thread. The delay time is the same as the propagation delay time of the slow Rayleigh wave and is proportional to the size of the crack. To efficiently detect the slow Rayleigh wave, three methods based on digital signal processing are proposed : modified wave shaping, dynamic predictive deconvolution, and dynamic predictive deconvolution combined with wave shaping.

Assessing the Association Between Emotional Labor and Presenteeism Among Nurses in Korea: Cross-sectional Study Using the 4th Korean Working Conditions Survey

  • Background: Presenteeism has emerged as an important health-related issue and has been studied in a variety of occupation groups. This study examines the relationship between emotional labor and presenteeism in nurses in Republic of Korea. Methods: As a cross-sectional study, our study was conducted on 328 female nurses participating in the fourth Korean Working Conditions Survey (2015). Nurses were identified by the Korean Industry Classification Code. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the association between emotional labor and presenteeism. Results: Female nurses who always or sometimes hide their emotions in the workplace were found to have a high risk for presenteeism compared with female nurses who rarely hide their emotions in the workplace {odds ratio [OR] = 2.40 [95% confidence interval (CI) 1.04-5.54]; OR = 4.12 [95% CI 1.72-9.84], respectively}. Furthermore, the risk of presenteeism was higher in nurses who sometimes engaged with complaining customers compared with nurses who rarely did so, but it lacked statistical significance. Conclusion: Presenteeism in nurses can cause various negative secondary effects; therefore, an alternative should be sought to mediate nurses' emotional labor to prevent presenteeism.

Characteristics of Exhaust Gas Temperature and Harmful Emission During Cold Start Transient Operation in an SI Engine (가솔린엔진의 냉시동 천이구간에서 배출가스 온도 및 유해배출물 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Stringent regulations of exhaust emission from vehicles become a major issue in automotive industries. In SI engines, it is one of the crucial factor to reduce exhaust emissions during cold start in order to meet stringent regulations such as SULEV or EURO-4, because SI engines emit a large portion of total harmful exhaust compounds when they are cold. At early stages of cold start in gasoline engines, exhaust gas temperature plays a key role to improve three way catalyst by virtue of fast warmup. Therefore, this study focused on the increase of exhaust gas temperature under controls of engine operating parameters such as spark ignition timing, valve overlap by virtue of intake VVT and catalyst heating function. Furthermore, effects on harmful emission due to these parameters are also investigated. Experiments showed that retarded spark ignition timings and increased valve overlap may be helpful to increase exhaust gas temperature. It was also found that $NO_x$ was decreased with increased valve overlap. This study also showed that sudden changes in ISA and amount of fuel due to the deactivation of catalyst heating function cause temporal increase of harmful emissions.

  • The noise analysis is usually carried out in the early structure design stage for the main areas in a vessel such as an accommodation, an engine room, HVAC System and etc. If the analysis results are higher than the noise limits based on guideline, appropriate countermeasures are established to reduce noise levels and applied to the vessel. But excessive noise induced the main or auxiliary equipment and high pressure steam system is very difficult to check in the initial design stage, and local noise problems frequently appear in actual vessels. This paper deals with excessive noise of the engine control room on LNG carrier. It includes the cause analysis of excessive noise, the countermeasure, and verification. Also, it proves suitability of the countermeasure through the on-board test.

  • Frequently. lots of organizations have experienced the value discrepancy between the expected value and the realized value from IS (information systems) investments. Being positive or negative the difference is. however, the existence of discrepancy itself is an evidence of less-than-sound management and measurement of IS projects. Analyzing the factors that cause such discrepancy has become an issue of scrutiny both in academia and in practice. We model which factors. as predictors, will affect the value discrepancy, as dependent variables. in IS investment. This research will establish and examine the research model. the validity of category classification of value discrepancy factors and the perceptual level of IS value discrepancy by survey research. As a result of the survey research. the strategic alignment. the proper system design for staffs. the project planning capability. and interdepartmental task cooperation are perceived as the factors that significantly affect the value discrepancy. And known as IS success factors such as the managerial support, the change management, the standardized process. and the competitive investment are not significant factors. The research findings will provide and emphasize useful implications which factors should be deliberately investigated in IS investment both for practices considering IS deployment and for academia.

  • Since air pollution has become a globally critical issue and exhaust emissions from automobiles cause a major source of air pollution, many countries including advanced countries have stipulated stringent emission regulations. Particularly in diesel vehicles, NOx and particulate matters exhaust in significant amounts even though diesel vehicles provide merits in aspects of higher thermal efficiency and lower $CO_2$. To reduce Particulate matters and NOx, after-treatment technology such as filter trap, oxidation catalysts and EGR has been applied. This test was conducted on the effect of continuous regeneration diesel particulate filter and cooled-EGR, and 15ppm low sulfur diesel was used as a test fuel. Exhaust emissions, PM, NOx, CO, HC and Soots were measured and compared under D-13 and D-3 modes.
