  • The Quality Management System is based on a system approach method. The Library and information center analyze the requirement of the customer, and manage to be interactive process so that we reach an information service level which the customer expects. This study accomplished theoretical review of ISO 9000 as International Quality Management System, investigated the trend for change of ISO 9000 certification systems. We reviewed ISO 9000 family which the Library and Information center possible apply and presented the requirement in the library and Information center with the process to need for a Quality Management System certification.

  • This study was preformed to analyze the effect of ISO 26000(Global Standard on Social Responsibility(SR)) establishment and implementation on Korean Industries, and to take proper responsive measures as the results. ISO 26000 Global Standard was begun to prepare the establishment from 2003, and now being ended to be implemented as the effective SR Global Standard. If the ISO 26000 is published, almost countries must prepare the suitable process to implement its contents. But, many organizations involving the government and the enterprises in Korea have not the complete informations and knowledges about the ISO 26000 Global Standard and the implementation processes. This is serious problem. So, this study was aimed and performed to cope with this problem. In this study, the effect analysis of the establishment ISO 26000 Global Standard on Korean Economy and the industries will be performed, and the effective measures to prepare for its implementation will be taken. Especially the measures of the individual company to this situation will be discussed.

  • In order to construct a data warehouse of process plant equipment, a classification structure should be defined first, identifying not only the equipment categories but also attributes of an each equipment to represent the specifications of equipment. ISO 15926 Process Plants is an international standard dealing with the life-cycle data of process plant facilities. From the viewpoints of defining classification structure, Part 2 data model and Reference Data Library (RDL) of ISO 15926 are seen to respectively provide standard syntactic structure and semantic vocabulary, facilitating the exchange and sharing of plant equipment's life-cycle data. Therefore, the equipment data warehouse with an ISO 15926-based classification structure has the advantage of easy integration among different engineering systems. This paper introduces ISO 15926 and then discusses how to define a classification structure with ISO 15926 Part 2 data model and RDL. Finally, we describe the development result of an ISO 15926-based classification structure for a variety of equipment consisting in the reactor coolant system (RCS) of APR 1400 nuclear plant.

  • The national product identifier(NPI) currently used in the national product asset management system does not accommodate ISO or EPC standards due to the limitation of tag memory. For this reason, we propose a new NPI which accommodates not only ISO item identification standards but also the memory capacity of ISO tags. First of all, memory structures of ISO/IEC 18000-6C and EPC tags are analyzed from the view point of product identifier structure. Second, ISO/IEC 15459 and EPC identification standards as item identifier structures for the product asset management are analyzed. Third, based on these analyses, the NPI used for the current RFID-based product asset management system is analyzed and its problems are presented. Finally, a new NPI structure is proposed suitable for ISO/IEC 18000-6C and ISO/IEC 15459.

  • Small- and medium-sized companies obtain ISO 9000 quality management systems as a way of adapting to the changes of business environment and improving their business performance. Certificates of ISO 9000 quality management systems have been granted to companies by either domestic or foreign certification agencies with different requirements and standards. This study empirically examined whether there are differences in business performance among small- and medium-sized companies that have obtained ISO 9000 quality management system from different types (domestic or foreign) of certification agencies. This study found that there are statistically significant differences in both qualitative and quantitative business performance among them. The findings of this study imply that companies considering ISO 9000 quality management systems be prudent in choosing the type of certification agency to maximize the expected benefits of ISO 9000 quality management systems. This study also provides the government agency regulating ISO 9000 quality management certification system with some valuable information that brings up the need for establishing and managing a more effective quality management certification system.

  • Although ISO 25964-2 was introduced in 2013, existing research about it that can be used for analysis and basis for its application is scarce. This study analyzed the interoperability of vocabularies emphasized in ISO 25964-2. First, this study examined the mapping types of the concept sharing method. In addition, based on the mapping types, this study sought for and examined the interoperability method between a thesaurus and ontology. Lastly, this study has suggested a thesaurus and ontology interoperability model and designed and constructed an ontology model for administrative department names in Korea to verify the possible of the model.

  • In this paper, we propose a software quality measurement metrics of ISO / IEC 25023, which is newly proposed for software quality evaluation, to compare the difference with ISO / IEC 9126-2 which was used for software quality evaluation. In this paper, we propose a method for evaluating the quality of reliability based on the software reliability growth model among the eight quality characteristics presented in ISO / IEC 25023. Based on ISO / IEC 25023, software-quality evaluations demonstrate that there is some risk in evaluating reliability when based on data.

  • The purpose of this study drew the core elements of ISO26000 by analyzing the elements suitable to the characteristics of casino companies, and examined the influence of the core elements of ISO26000 on organizational trust following the level of organizational trust of employees. As a result of the factor analysis, among the 7 measurement items of ISO26000, improvement of governance and fair operating practices were simplified into one factor and thus 6 factors were used for empirical analysis. Therefore, multiple regression analysis using least square method was conducted to examine the impacts of the 6 elements. As a result, 5 variables excluding human rights had significant impacts on the organizational trust. Concretely, the 5 core elements of ISO26000 (labor practices, governance and fair operation, consumer issues, environment and community social and economic development) had significant impact on organization trust in order. In addition, the results of quantile regression analysis show the core elements of ISO26000 had different impacts on organizational trust depending on the level of organizational trust of employees.

  • This study was aimed to evaluate the possibility of application to the KS A ISO 2859-1 Easy test, an international standards sampling inspection, to replace a sampling method of the current grading standard of chicken meats for the first time. As a result of screening capability to check for defective products, the current sampling was 0.61 and the KS A ISO 2859-1 Normal test was 0.70, suggesting that the latter inspection method was more accurate. If the KS A ISO 2859-1 conversion principle is applied, 40,530 won per day is saved for a 50-lot inspection. The current sampling and the KS A ISO 2859-1 Easy test did not exceed the reject limit for the number of defective products to satisfy the grade $1^+$ on chicken carcass size numbers 12, 9 and 8. Freshness was not significantly different between the current sampling and the KS A ISO 2859-1 Easy test. It is expected that using the KS A ISO 2859-1 Easy test with a smaller sample volume will have the same level of quality evaluation as the current sampling method while reducing costs.

  • The purpose of this study is to promote future research and practical application in the field of records systems by informing the revision of the ISO 16175 standard set and analyzing its main contents, which was widely used as a record management functional requirements. Based on the experience of participating in the developing process of this International Standard since 2015, this study analyzed the context and process of revision, and the main contents of the standard, and sought to draw limited implications and proposed follow-up researches connected to the practice of the Korean records systems. The previous ISO 16175 sets had been produced as ISO 16175-1, 2, 3 in 2010-2011, and which were restructured and revised into new ISO 16175-1, 2 in 2020 in line with the revision of ISO 15489 and changes in the digital environment. Main title of the International Standard is processes and functional requirements for software for managing records, and Part I provides high-level functional requirements and associated guidance for applications that manage digital records, Part II provides guidance for selecting, designing, implementing and maintaining software for managing records. This standard assumes that the records system does not necessarily have to be a single system or software solely for records management and that it should be able to perform record management function in any forms.
