  • Thin-film transistors(TFTs) with silicon-zinc-tin-oxide(SiZnSnO, SZTO) channel layer are fabricated by rf sputtering method. Electrical properties were changed by different annealing treatment of dry annealing and wet annealing. This procedure improves electrical property especially, stability of oxide TFT. Improved electrical properties are ascribed to desorption of the negatively charged oxygen species from the surfaces by annealing treatment. The threshold voltage ($V_{th}$) shifted toward positive as increasing Si contents in SZTO system. Because the Si has a lower standard electrode potential (SEP) than that that of Sn, Zn, resulting in the degeneration of the oxygen vacancy ($V_O$). As a result, the Si acts as carrier suppressor and oxygen binder in the SZTO as well as a $V_{th}$ controller, resulting in the enhancement of stability of TFTs.

  • It is believed that the pre-flashover phenomena would play a very important role in the procedure of the flashover in the interface between the insulators and vacuum. This paper is mainly concerned on the pre-flashover phenomena of Alumina insulators in vacuum. There are 24 different types of alumina insulators were tested with a 0.7/4 ${\mu}s$ pulsed voltage under a $1{\times}10^{-4}Pa$ vacuum. The observed pre-flashover phenomena were classified and the pre-flashover characteristics were concluded. It is useful to study further on the flashover mechanism in vacuum.

  • This paper deal with the stability evaluation and suggestion of progressive failure slope in biotite granite area of Andong. Based on geological site investigation and field test, stability analysis of slope was performed in conjunction with limit equilibrium methods and stereographic projection. Additionally, initial design and construction procedure was critically evaluated. Series of the slope stability analysis reveals the detection of local wedge and plane failure under the current slope condition. It is additionally appeared that a certain synthetic behavior of circle and plane failure exists on the right spot where the overall failure's going in progress. In order to construct more stable slope based on the suitability for the real state of the slope circumstances, this study issues a solution to eliminate the primary factors which cause the instability, by means of the grade of weathering and RMR classification of rock mass.

  • The aim of this paper is to propose a design procedure for predicting the buckling strength of built-up, cold-formed steel columns based on the two well known methods; the effective width method and the Direct Strength Method. Several design approaches, based on different elastic buckling solutions, were considered in this investigation. Traditional hand methods, without interaction effects between the different modes, and a new numerical spline finite strip method were used to predict the buckling stresses. All of the proposed methods were compared with experimental data on plain and lipped, built-up columns. Results have shown that the effective width approaches are more accurate than the Direct Strength Method. However, both methods can be investigated using more experimental data to assess a practical design method for built-up columns.

  • A geometrically nonlinear analysis procedure including the damping effects is presented for the investigation of the dynamic post-divergence and post-flutter behavior of a non-conservative system. The dynamic nonlinear analysis of plane frame structure subjected to conservative and non-conservative forces is carried out by solving the equations of motion using Newmark method. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effects of the internal and external damping forces in the conservative and non-conservative systems.

  • The study deals with the development of a computational procedure for evaluating the temperature rise in dry and lubricated multi-layered contacts of head/disk interface. A transient computational model with a transformed rectangular computational domain is utilized. A model and a computational method for micro-contact with sub-lubricated zone, including friction heat generation, have been presented. The model was applied, taking full account of the changes in contact area and contact load due to frictional heating. The computational distribution of temperature is obtained with the analytical findings for various composition and contact conditions. Especially, a rapid rise ($220^{\circ}C$ or above) in read head temperature lese to a saturation in the influence of a thermal spike on signal performance. This general class of problems can be treated provided that heat generation distribution and layer properties are known.

  • A simulation to investigate the thermal behavior in short fiber or whisker reinforced composite materials has been performed for the application to the thermoelastic stress analysis using Finite Element Method (FEM). To obtain the internal field quantities of composite material, the procedure of micromechanical modeling and the principle of virtual work were implemented. For the numerical illustration, an aligned axisymmetric single fiber model has been employed to assess field quantities. It was found that the proposed simulation methodology for thermoelastic stress analysis is applicable to the complicated inhomogeneous solid for the investigation of micromechanical thermoelastic behavior.

  • This paper describes mechanical and electric properties of ACSR $410\;mm^2$ conductor from many of older overhead conductor. Samples of conductors itemized two division according to operation sector, green area, salt and pollution area. Samples of conductors operated various environment conditions have undergone laboratory metallurigical investigation and tensile strength torsional ductility and electrical performance. The steel core were found to have retained their original properties to a large degree in both tensile strength and the number of turns to failure. On the other hand the aluminum conductor showed reductions in tensile strength. To determine the remaining useful life of aged conductor, an unacceptable deterioration level has to established for each diagnostic procedure.

  • The recent high speed propeller with blade sweep is required to have high strength to get the thrust to fly at high speed. The high stiffness and strength carbon/epoxy composite material is used for the major structure and skin-spar-foam sandwich structural type is adopted for advantage in terms of the blade weight. As a design procedure for the present study, the structural design load is estimated through investigation on aerodynamic load and then flanges of spars from major bending loads and the skin from shear loads are sized using the netting rule and Rule of Mixture. In order to investigate the structural safety and stability, stress analysis is performed by finite element analysis code MSC. NASTRAN. It is found that current methodology of composite structure design is a valid method through the static structural test of prototype blade.

  • A quantitative fluorometric method was developed to determine aspirin and salicylic acid in bulk aspirin and commercial aspirin tablets. The excitation maximum for aspirin was observed at 280 nm and the emission maximum was at 335nm. The lowest energy excitation band for salicylic acid was at 308nm and the fluorescence emission band was at 450nm. Excipients, binders, lubricants and impurities did not interfere. Excellent recoveries were obtained for aspirin and salicylic acid. Results obtained by the KP III procedure and the proposed method were compared.
