  • In this paper, we investigate the properties of Alexandrov topologies, non-symmetric pseudo-metrics and lower approximation operators on [0, ∞]. Moreover, we investigate the relations among Alexandrov topologies, non-symmetric pseudo-metrics and lower approximation operators. We give their examples.

  • Working with dynamic visual representations can help students-with-computer discover new mathematical ideas. Students translate among multiple representations as a strategy to investigate non-routine problems to explore possible solutions in mathematics classrooms. In this paper, we use the area models as new representations for our secondary students to investigate three problems related to the average speed of a particle. Students show their ideas in the process of investigating arithmetic mean, harmonic mean, and average speed through their created dynamic figures. These figures really utilize dynamic geometry software.

  • In this study, we investigate atomic and electronic structure of graphene with substitutional impurities such as boron or nitrogen atom using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. To investigate the effects of substitutional impurities in graphene, we consider a ($6{\times}6$) supercell of graphene in our calculations. For detailed electronic properties of graphene, we compare the energy band structure of B- or N-doped graphene with that of pristine graphene.

  • We investigate the effect of hydrogen on adsorption of hydrocarbon molecules on graphene with density functional theory (DFT) calculations. In this study, we calculate the binding energies of hydrogen molecule, carbon atom and other hydrocarbon fragments such as CHx (x=1, 2, 3, 4) on graphene to find the most stable adsorption site. Then, to study the effect of hydrogen, we investigate the adsorption of hydrocarbon fragments in the presence of hydrogen atoms on graphene.

  • In this study, we choose the sinusoidal shaped arch with pin-ends subjected to sinusoidal distributed excitation to investigate the fundamental mechanism of the dynamic instability. We derive the nonlinear equations of motion to investigate the instability phenomenon of arch structures and Identify the buckling characteristics of sinusoidal shaped arch structures through the nonlinear eigenvalue analysis with discreted equations of motion by Galerkin's method. We examine that phenomenons which direct snapping and indirect snapping with backbone curves to understand occurrence paths of the dynamic buckling.

  • In this paper, we investigate maximum transmission capacity of wireless ad-hoc networks. In the investigation, we consider a network topology with regularly located nodes. For the topology, we investigate the maximum transmission capacity with RTS/CTS medium access protocol, and next, we study the maximum transmission capacity without the protocol. We see that the results of our study overall follows the result of Gupta and Kumar's research.

  • A numerical study using linear finite element analysis is performed to investigate the behavior of basement wall subject to soil and water pressure in this study, parametric studies are peformed to investigate the variation of moment and shear force according to column-to-wall stiffness ratios and aspect ratios. Scaled factors applicable to the design of basement wall are proposed with the illustration of design examples.

  • In order to investigate dynamic behaviors of marine cables under wave and earthquake forces a geometric nonlinear. F, E formulation of marine cables is presented and tangent stiffness and mass matrices for the isoparametric cable element are derived, The initial equilibrium state of cables subjected to self -weights and current forces is determined and free vibration and dynamic nonlinear analysis of cable structures under additional environmental loads are performed based on the initial configuration Challenging examples are presented and discussed in order to demonstrate the feasibility of the present finite element method and investigate dynamic nonlinear behaviors of marine cables.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the educational program of consumer adviser. The educational program proposed in previous study is consisted of the acquisition of 5 require and 2 optional subjects, and field education. For this, based on the role and capacity of consumer adviser we explain in detail the contents of required subjects. And we confirm the necessity and significance of field education. Finally we investigate the confirm the necessity and significance of field education. Finally we investigate the contents of field education and suggest the system and course of desirable field education through case study of several universities.
