  • A dynamic model for II-SEPIC(Isolated Inverse-SEPIC) is developed based on the state-space averaging method and its control characteristics are investigated in this paper. Equations for circuit design of II-SEPIC are derived through steady state analysis and the resulted circuit parameters are used in the consequent simulation and experiment works. A structure of control system is devised to obtain better control performance. In order to verify validity and effectiveness of the design equations and dynamic model derived, dynamic control responses of II-SEPIC system against line and load variation are illustrated in both simulation and experiment.

  • Nonuniform transmission lines(NTLs) with the desired frequency response can be realized by synthesizing the potential from the coupled mode Zakharov-Shabat(ZS) equation in the one-dimensional inverse scattering problem. In this study, an efficient synthesis method using the ZS equations is presented for NTLs with arbitrarily specified reflection coefficients which take the restricted potential. This method lessens the line length which plague conventional design schemes using specific windows for reflection coefficients. Furthermore solving the ZS inverse transform problem is simplified by adopting the successive approach instead of the conventional iterative method. The proposed method is compared with the conventional method using specific windows by applying to design of dispersive NTL filters, and verified by two-port analysis through the chain matrix.

  • In this paper we design a key-frame editor for 3D sign-language animation using the inverse kinematics. Using the editor, we can calculate the joint angles for two arms automatically. Up to now we have computed the values of the joint angles using the forward kinematics, where we have determined the values heuristically based on our experiences. To overcome the drawbacks, we employ the arm transformation matrix of the inverse kinematics. Experimental results show a possibility that the proposed method could be used for making up the sign-language communication dictionaries.

  • In this paper, we propose a new conjugate gradient method which possesses the global convergence and apply it to solve inverse problems of the dynamic loads identification. Moreover, we strictly prove the stability and convergence of the proposed method. Two engineering numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and speediness of the present method which is superior to the Landweber iteration method. The results of numerical simulations indicate that the proposed method is stable and effective in solving the multi-source dynamic loads identification problems of practical engineering.

  • In this paper, we presented a method of constructing a multiplier and an inverse element generator over finite field GF(3**m). We proposed the multiplication method using a descending order arithmetics of mod F(X) to perform the multiplication and mod F(X) arithmetics at the same time. The proposed multiplier is composed of following parts. 1) multiplication part, 2) data assortment generation part and 5) multiplication processing part. Also the inverse element generator is constructed with following parts. 1) multiplier, 2) group of output registers Rs, 3) multiplication and cube selection gate Gl, 4) Ri term sequential selection part. 5) cube processing part and 6) descending order mod F(X) generation part. Especially, the proposed multiplier and inverse element generator give regularity, expansibility and modularity of circuit design.

  • In this paper, quantization and inverse quantizatio unit, a sa component of MPEG-2 moving picture compression system, ar edesigned. In the processing of quantization, this design adopted newly designed arithmetic units in which quantization matrices and scale code was expressed with SD(signed-digit) code. In the arithmetic unit of inverse quantization, quantization scale code, which has 5-bits length, is splited into two pieces; 2-bits for control code, 3-bits for quantization data, and the method to devise quantization step size is proposed. The design was coded with VHDL and synthesis results in that it consumed about 6,110 gates, and operating speed is 52MHz.

  • This study proposes an inverse method for estimating the boundary temperature in a gas-filled, onedimensional parallel domain enclosed by parallel plates. The distance between the plates is considered submicron to one mm. In the current method, it is assumed that the conditions of both heat flux and temperature are simultaneously applicable to one boundary, while no conditions are applicable to the other boundary The temperature on one of the boundaries should be inversely determined from the known temperature and heat flux on the other boundary. This study proposes a procedure for estimating the unknown boundary temperature through Monte Carlo simulation. Both the forward and inverse problems employ the Monte Carlo approach. The forward (direct) problem is solved by using the direct simulation Monte Carlo while the inverse solution is obtained by the simulated annealing.

  • The automotive industry have made an effort to reduce the weight of vehicle structures with increased safety, while initial model of the final product does not contain any prehistoric effects in a design stave. It takes lots of time to calculate forming effects that have great influences on the energy absorption of structures. In this paper, finite element inverse analysis is adopted to calculate forming effects, such as thickness variation and effective plastic strain as well as an initial blank shape with small amount of computation time. Crash analysis can be directly performed after inverse analysis of the forming process without remeshing scheme. The direct mesh mapping method is used to calculate an initial guess from the sliding constraint surface that is extracted from the die and punch set. Analysis results show that energy absorption of structures is increased with consideration of forming effects and finite element inverse analysis is usefully applicable to calculate forming erects of vehicle structures for the crash analysis.
