  • The objective of this study is to find the factors influencing the use of mobile service. We extracted critical study variables according to literature reviews about adoption of information systems, those under the internet environment and mobile internet adoption for theoretical foundation. TAM suggested by Davis(1985) has explained the acceptance mechanism with the following constructs: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward use, behavioral intention and actual usage. After studying prior literature reviews, this study investigated the group of people using mobile services. The result of study claims that it has same results with previous TAM, especially between personal innovativeness and attitude toward use have strong statistical relations. On the other hand, there haven't been any statistical relations between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness and between perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, either. In conclusion, use of mobile service can be promoted by developing various kinds of mobile service, designing device and interface to use mobile service more convenience and familiar, stimulating user's innovative characters and recognizing mobile service more useful in real life.

  • This paper investigates the determinants which influence the intention to adopt the Internet shopping mall in the form of a new B2C by off-line manufacturers or service providers in their design of a channel. The current study purports to provide managerial suggestions for a firm that sets up channel design strategies, with the Internet channel considered. Research findings are as follows: First, the intention to adopt the Internet shopping mall increases as a firm's relative benefits are perceived higher; second, as organizational readiness increases, the intention to adopt the Internet shopping mall increases; third, the intention to adopt the Internet shopping mall decreases as the level of perceived barriers on the Internet increases, and fourth, as the level of perceived social/organizational pressures is higher, the intention to adopt the Internet shopping mall increases. In addition, this paper presents theoretical and practical Implications, given the limits of the current study.

  • Studies about wireless internet have been focused on technology issues and few studies were shown in the adoption of wireless internet services. This study uses Technology Acceptance Model in order to understand influencing factors in acceptance of wireless internet services. Reviewing by TAM related studies, this study regards the influencing factors as personal and social environmental dimensions in the case of wireless internet services, and these two factors are used. Two dependent variables-intention and current usage-are adopted for analyzing the effects of the two factors on two dependent variables via mediating variables. The results of this study show that age, frequency of mobile phone usage, occupation, and the recognition level of wireless internet services affected the intention and current usage of these services.

  • With the rapid growth of internet technology, social commerce has played an important and central role in the online shopping area. Thus, we focus on the factors that influence on the adoption of social commerce. This study analyzes the relationship between perceived risk and the shopping motive in social commerce, and investigates whether the shopping motive significantly impact the purchase intention of the social commerce. The perceived risk is comprised of social risk and psychology risk, and the shopping motive is formed from personal motive and social motive. Finally, we analysis a moderating effect of collectivism. The results indicated that the personal motive was negatively affected by the social risk and psychology risk, and social motive was negatively affected by the psychology risk. The social risk and psychology risk had negative effect on the purchase intention, and personal motive and social motive had positive effect on the purchase intention of the social commerce. Finally, low collectivism seems to have the negative effect of the purchase intention by the perceived risk. The implications of integrating perceived risk and shopping motive into the proposed social commerce adoption model are discussed.

  • The speed and magnitude of mobile phone adoption is a recent worldwide phenomenon akin to those of the television in the middle of the 20th century and the Internet in the late 20th century. During the 2000s, mobile phone adoption was exploded and subscriptions reached 3 billion around the globe. Korea and Japan have been ahead of the rest of the world in introducing new handset and service capabilities. They were the first markets to launch 3G services and are currently the only markets to have achieved mainstream adoption of 3G with over one-third of customers in both markets subscribing to 3G services. The purpose of this article is to explore the cultural similarities and differences associated with mobile mail by presenting findings from a cross-cultural comparison of perceptions and uses of the technology. The results of the study are as follows:Of the characteristics that make up the mobile text-messaging service in Korea, a person's perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment was found to have a positive effect on use attitude. Among the characteristics that make up a person's perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment was found to have a positive effect on use intention. And use attitude was found to have positive effects on use intention. But, of the characteristics that make up the mobile text-messaging service in Japan, a person's perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment were found to have a positive effect on use attitude. Among the characteristics that make up a person's perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment were found to have a positive effect on use intention. And use attitude was found to have positive effects on use intention. This study contributes to telecommunications research by delineating the various stimuli to consider for successful technology acceptance in a global setting, which can account for differential impacts across regions. The findings of this study can assist telecommunications operators in formulating an effective region-specific strategy when launching a wireless data service in a particular environment.

  • This study analyzes appropriate government policy frameworks for promoting IPTV industry by studying the way of adoption and diffusion of IPTV services. Until recently, most researches on government policies for technology adoption have focused on the personal context. This research adopts two theories, i.e., innovation characteristics theory for personal context and implementation process theory for organizational context. It also hypothesizes that the innovation characteristics more influence on the behavioral intention for usage new media in the level of personal innovativeness is high. Moreover, in the level of expectancy for diffusion policy is high, the implementation of IPTV services more influences on the behavioral intention. The results by statistical analysis, it is found that the higher the level of personal innovativeness is, and the higher the level of expectancy for diffusion policy is, the more behavioral intention will be influenced by the characteristics of innovation and implementation of IPTV service. Thus it is important for government agencies to find the way to facilitate personal innovativeness as well as expectancy for diffusion policy.

  • Since the general quality of life has been improving, people have become interested in "well-being." The widespread acceptance of the importance of "well-being" to quality of life has encouraged people to take more interest in getting health information online when they need it. Expansive use of online health information suggests that individual characteristics (i.e., gender and other traits), Website features, and perceived trust are related to the primary concern for many online health information consumers. This study examines whether familiarity, perceived security, and reputation of health information on various Websites influence the relationship of trust and intention to use by gender. These research results will contribute to the adoption of online health information by gender and, moreover, will provide companies with an understanding of key characteristics of consumers who use emoticons and provide useful implications for marketing strategies to current and future consumers.

  • This study demonstrates that ease of use, usefulness, and hedonic desires affect the intention to use smart signage, based on market delimitations. Smart signage is at an early phase of adoption and its market can be divided broadly into indoor and outdoor markets. In this study, an empirical study model was established in conjunction with the technology acceptance model (TAM), which was applied to the IT area of a smart signage map and to a hedonic model. Empirical results showed that the key hedonic attributes affecting the intention to use smart signage include information delivery for the indoor environment and emotional and entertainment content for the outdoor environment. In the future, specific guidelines can be presented to boost the usage of smart signage through an empirical study based on the identification of external factors that affect usage intention.

  • Understanding of the adoption and use of mobile internet (MI) services may have a significant issue on business communication practices. But few empirical studies have made a distinction between users' pre-adoption beliefs and post-adoption beliefs on MI services. Most researches of MI services, moreover, do not consider the characteristics of MI services. This paper reports results of a research on the comparison of users' beliefs between adopting and using MI services. We consider two beliefs which are object-based beliefs and behavioral beliefs. Using constructs from the two beliefs, a model will test to observe the determinants of the MI services adoption and continued use intention based on the survey data. Understanding beliefs' distinction is important to manage MI services and increase the profit of MI services over time.

  • A lack of trust in the technical and institutional environments surrounding the web can hinder e-commerce adoption, because Internet social cues are minimal and trust is difficult th establish. Web vendors must act purposefully to overcome consumer perceptions of uncertainty and risk by building trust-both in their own web sites and in the broader Internet environments. Trust makes consumers comfortable by sharing personal information making purchases, and acting on web vendor advice-behaviors essential to wide-spread adoption of e-commerce. Understanding the nature and antecedents of trust is, therefore, a major issue for both Internet researchers and practitioners. Prior research on e-commerce trust has used diverse, incomplete, and inconsistent definitions of trust therefore, making it difficult to compare results across studies. This study tried to and the empirical relationships among the trust-related factors on the usage of Internet shooing mall. The model includes five high-level constructs-disposition to trust institution-based trust trusting beliefs, trusting intention and environmental factors. The results showed that the disposition to trust and the environmental factors had a significant effect on the web site trust however, their effect was not consistent Moreover, the model suggested in this study need to be extended including with the more sociological factors and results in this study required to be verified with those extended model.
