  • The Internet is evolving into a fundamental social infrastructure, similar to electricity and water. In particular, the role of the Internet is becoming more critical as the global digital transformation infrastructure of the 4th industrial revolution. Based on this trend, we note that the Internet is monopolized by a few large organizations even though it was originally designed as a purely distributed system. In this paper, we have reviewed the domination trends, especially in terms of data consolidation. In addition, we have summarized the corresponding research activities from the Internet Society, EU Horizon-2020, and Decentralized web. Further, this paper proposes an approach to address the data consolidation issue from the Korean perspective.

  • The robustness of a network is usually measured by error tolerance and attack vulnerability. Significant research effort has been devoted to determining the network design with optimal robustness. However, little attention has been paid to the problem of how to improve the robustness of existing networks. In this paper, we investigate how to optimize attack tolerance and communication efficiency of an existing network under the limited link addition. A survival fitness metric is defined to measure both the attack tolerance and the communication efficiency of the network. We show that network topology reconfiguration optimization with limited link addition (NTRLA) problem is NP-hard. Two approximate solution methods are developed. First, we present a degree-fitness parameter to guide degree-based link addition method. Second, a preferential configuration node-protecting cycle (PCNC) method is developed to do trade-off between network robustness and efficiency. The performance of PCNC method is demonstrated by numerical experiments.

  • The referents of internet addresses are no longer limited to web sites. A new address service by the international organization for the internet address (ICANN) introduces an open space for the TLD (Top Level Domain) strings so that each service, content, product, and other linguistic expressions may be allowed. The open TLD addresses are more suitable for representing the address of service units, contents, or products. In this paper, as an alternative to static Internet address service to return a consistent mapping result regardless of a user-specific different requirements, we design a dynamic internet address mapping model that returns mapping result to suit user particular requirements. In addition, we propose a method for implementing a internet address service without any changes in the existing domain protocols. It may implement a dynamic internet address by attaching to a encoded user's metadata and environment data within a internet address representation, and adding the module for dynamic mapping to the name servers. Through this proposal, trying to expand the functions of internet address, it is expected to be able to provide customized informaiton retrieval services for each user by using just internet address.

  • So far, the researches about the Internet addiction testing are diverse and enormous. However, since the testing factors have the same importance, there is no discrimination among the factors. In our paper, we analyze the problems of the existing researches by using Lisrel and data mining algorithms. Next, we propose an alternative for the Internet addiction testing. In order to accomplish these, we make an questionnaire consisted of Young's test and then, we asked to 440 primary and secondary school students. In addition, we analyzed the problems of Young's test with factor analysis and then, we distinguish more important items from others with J48 and PART. Finally, based on this analysis, we propose a method to diagnose addicted students and prescribe them.

  • Due to the endeavors and performances of many IT firms, as well as the government supports, the IT capability of Korea was ranked in the top 8th position by Huawei in 2015. Specifically, as far as the wire & wireless network and Internet speed, Korea has taken pride in possessing the competitive advantage. However, many academic and practical experts began to point out the lack of systematic research management on Internet. The purpose of the study is to identify various research issues on Internet and to verify their appropriateness. In addition, the study examined their recent trends and provided the prospect of the future Internet-related researches. Consequently, the finding indicates that the rigorous endeavors and outcomes for each proposed research issue have been resulted in and will be continued. The study anticipates the growing demands of researches in the fields of future network, multimedia application, big data, artificial intelligence, and Internet security.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the difference of the health promoting behaviors between average Internet users and excessive Internet users. Method: Data were collected from a convenient sample of 465 middle school students from June 7th to 17th, 2002, based on a self reported questionnaire. The instruments included were the Health Promotion Behaviors reconstructed by the author based on the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (Walker, Sechrist & Pender, 1987) and Internet addiction test translated by Center for Internet Addiction Prevention and Counseling based on Young's test. Data were analyzed with N, %, x2 test, t-test and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Result : 1. There were no significant differences in general characteristics between average Internet users and excessive Internet users. 2. There were significant differences between two groups in diet behavior(p=.030), even though there were no differences in general health promoting behaviors(p=.109). 3. There were significant negative correlations between Internet use and diet behavior (r=-.193, p=.000). Therefore, average Internet users had more desirable diet behavior than excessive Internet users. Conclusion: Internet addiction prevention program should be conducted as part of a comprehensive school health promotion program. In addition, the results of this study should be considered in developing the school health education curriculum to rear students' responsibility on their health behaviors.

  • This study analyzed the effects of internet fashion consumer's anticipated regret and the selection difficulty on decision making delay and purchase switching intention. The survey was conducted in 2012 on internet fashion consumers in their 20s to 40s from May 1 to June 30; subsequently, 487 responses were used for the data analysis. The anticipated regret of internet fashion consumers was composed of product, service, social psychology, and function-related anticipated regret. The selection difficulty of internet fashion consumers was composed of process, information, and experience-related selection difficulty. There are significant differences in anticipated regret, selection difficulty, decision making delay, and purchase switching intention by gender. The anticipated regret (product, service, and social psychology-related anticipated regret) and selection difficulty effected decision making delay. In addition, the anticipated regret for product and selection difficulty by process or information influenced purchase switching intention. The results of this study provide useful information on the success and efficient operation of internet shopping malls.

  • This study investigates the effects of internet shopping malls attributes on purchase satisfaction, repurchase intention, and word of mouth intention of fashion consumers. Data were collected from 400 consumers who purchased fashion products through internet shopping malls for the last 3 months. The survey was conducted from August $6^{th}$ 2010 to September $20^{th}$ 2010. A factor analysis identified 7 dimensions of internet shopping mall attributes: (1) interactivity, (2) website appearance, (3) sales promotion, (4) trust, (5) transaction capability, (6) fashion products variety, and (7) information offerings. The results show that all the dimensions of the internet shopping mall attributes affect purchase satisfaction, repurchase intention, and word of mouth intention. In addition, there were significant differences in the perceived attributes among three different types of internet shopping malls; comprehensive mall, fashion specialty malls, and online market-places (open-markets). While, there was no significant impact on the purchase satisfaction, repurchase intention, and word of mouth intention by the e-tailer types.

  • Rapidly increasing Internet traffic demands require IP protocol based on high quality networking technology. Accordingy, our Internet has evolved from best-effort service toward differentiated service framework so as to implement QoS as prerequisite to a series of new applications. In addition, it is forecasted that existing transport network will be reorganized into DWDM-based optical Internet sooner or later under the influence of Internet demands for higher bandwidth based on QoS. This study shows a way to an effective implementation in some aspects: QoS implementation on DWDM-based optical Internet network, control protocol, backbone network architecture and switching technology for the Next Generation Internet (NGI).
