This study aims at the fundamental factors needed to make the policy for internet reference service of public records were presented, considering the methods for improvement of internet reference service of national assembly records. For this purpose, reference service theory of recorded informations and examples of foreign congress reference services were analyzed. From the result of analysis, three tasks were proposed as an improvement plan for internet reference services of national assembly records: establishment of access policy, improvement of reference service programs, and activation of communication with users.

Due to the inferior condition of local library reference service, an air of indifference about users, and the increase in Internet resources, cooperative reference service in domestic libraries tend to be stagnant. The increase in Internet resources was reconsidered, aside from traditional library reference service, based on question and answer service. It shed new light on the importance of indirect service, which is focused on reliable knowledge base construction. This study analyzed cooperative reference service, which is managed by the Japanese Diet library that pursued indirect service contrary to ours. Based on that, it suggested a new takeoff possibility for Korean cooperative reference service.

Internet EC accomplish to simply electronic business from all process integration of production, marketing and customer service. Recently, the severe competition in the internet shopping mall has forced firms to increase the customer satisfaction and to enhance service quality Despite the internet shopping mall's fast and superficial growth and extraordinary potential, study on (actors affecting service quality based on its characteristics is meager. Most researchers have studied on the service quality related with the internal shopping mall by just applying measurement items in internet environment. This paper tries to analyze whether the internet shopping mall can be reorganized by introducing factors of service quality specifically with reference to the internet showing mall. In addition, this study focuses on developing the method to measure the service quality more effectively. For this purpose, this study applies the Taguchi Method using quality loss function (QLF) which can be used to measure quality quantitatively. The proposed method provides the measurement of the internet shopping mall's service quality and offers to the practitioner a measurement tools suitable for service industry.

This study presented the necessity of the development of a digital reference service systems as a method for direct information service in the library on the internet. The purpose of this research is to find commonalities for building a model of digital reference service. This study used qualitatives methods(elite interviews and document analysis) to extract accumulated knowhow from fourteen expert services sites which are similar with reference services in the library. For effective management of the digital reference service, it is necessary to have a digital reference service librarian who is well versed in the inner workings of the service and in the knowledge the service deals with.

In this paper we present the development of CITIS(Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service) reference model system which can be utilized for electronic commerce among enterprises. For the physical analysis target model, we selected switching system businesses of Korea Telecom. From analysis of life-cycle business process and data, we derived CITIS reference model containing CITIS To-Be model and CITIS scenario. Derived CITIS reference model is generalized so that it can be used not only for switching system businesses but other business areas regarding CITIS implementation. On the base of the derived CITIS reference model, We also developed CITIS information management system and CITIS-support workflow system as CITIS reference model system. Developed CITIS reference model system supports information and business process sharing among enterprises on internet and it does make a contribution to expansion of CITIS which is moving from conceptual research towards real implementation phase.

University libraries need the development of a common Internet-based reference request system in order to prevent duplicated investment and provide interoperability among them. This paper proposes a standard of Internet-based reference recluest system that serves reference request-responses and that provides reference source sites on the world wide web. Using this system, university libraries can cooperate other libraries with reference databases and may perform tasks of reference service efficiently.

This study is to improve the quality of online reference service which is serviced in the world. For this it suggests the strategic methods for collecting and connecting of internet information resources. It makes information service circumstance for professional librarians to retrieve and service. To achieve the purpose, this study have drawn implications by analysing the theoretical discussions and the cases of online reference resources system. This study suggests some strategies as follows; 1) Collaborative constructing and using of online reference resources, 2) Developing classification scheme and subdividing the subjects of it, 3) Developing the standard format of the data as like metadata, 4) Developing the guidelines to select the proper resources from many internet information resources, 5) Subdividing the 'knowledge DB' by subjects, 6) Connecting as much as possible the DBs as like the National DB and open access resources.

Since 1995 local newspapers competitively commenced the service of multimedia electronic newspaper on Internet WWW due to the technical development in data processing and the widely used Internet. It includes image, phonetics and moving pictures as well as texts. The Internet service of newspaper articles are not only the information source which enables the users utilize the various information easily and rapidly but also to be an important reference service tools in the library. Howeverjn many cases. the current local electronic newspaper service aims at the service itself. Therefore, the information does not contain plenty of information. In some cases, information searching system focused on the users are not established yet. In this research, structuring process and characteristics of the Internet WWW electronic newspaper and the current service status and contents of the local newspaper have been reviewed. Construction of menu, information searching system and reference mannual for users of 6 local newspapers have been analyzed to secure efficient service for users.

According to the current increase of the usefulness of information in Internet, several methods are proposed in which multimedia information may be efficiently managed and retrieved. The purpose of this paper is to propose the new grouping method by SRR(Semantic Reference Relation) and DRR(Direct Reference Relation). The important point of this method proposed in this paper is to group MDI(Multimedia Document Informations) as a cluster of this multimedia objects. According to the result of experimental simulation, which has been tested by by the 1,000 multimedia items in internet, this method has made more efficiently the service and grouping of MDI possible than any other methods do in internet.
