The purpose of this study was to shed light on a role of hope in understanding the relationship between the search for meaning in life and academic satisfaction and to suggest ways to increase hope among Korean students. We hypothesized that the relationship between search for meaning in life and academic satisfaction would be mediated by hope and the positive relationship between search for meaning and hope would be strengthened by family support and friend support. We conducted two surveys to examine the hypotheses. Based on Study 1 using a sample of 190 undergraduate students, we found that the relationship between search for meaning in life and academic satisfaction was fully mediated by hope. In Study 2, we examined the four types of hope that include internal hope and three types of external hope (i.e., family, friends, and supernatural being) to extend knowledge on what features of hope mediate the relationships between search for meaning and academic satisfaction. Study 2 based on a sample of 313 high school students showed that the link from the search for meaning in life and academic satisfaction was fully mediated by internal hope and external-peers hope. The mediating effects of external-family hope and external-spiritual hope were not significant in Study 2. Also, we found that family support strengthened the positive links from the search for meaning in life to hope (Study 1) and to internal hope (Study 2) while the interactive effects of friend support and the search for meaning on hope were not significant in both studies. Based on the results, we discussed several implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
Purpose: This study is aimed to investigate the relationship among terminal care stress, job satisfaction and terminal care performance nurses in internal medicine wards and to provide a basis to improve terminal care performance. Methods: This is a descriptive study performed with 201 nurses who have at least one year of experience and are stationed at the internal medicine department of three general hospitals and three university hospitals in P city of a metropolitan city B. The nurses also had an experience with a dying patient. Data were collected from March 1 through March 31, 2014. The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Kosin University. Results: Job satisfaction was negatively correlated with stress in end-of-life care (r=-212, P=0.003) and positively correlated with terminal care performance (r=0.383, P<0.001). There was no correlation between terminal care stress and terminal care performance. Conclusion: Appropriate programs are needed to improve job satisfaction for high quality terminal care performance.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: While patient-centered outcomes are usually not reported, these may represent major aspects of the implant success for the patient. Use of a well-designed patient survey form can be an invaluable asset to the implant practitioners. PURPOSE: The objective of this study was to investigate patient satisfaction after implant therapy by means of a questionnaire. MATERIAL AND METHODS: South Korean patients (n = 100), who visited the dental examination center of Soon Chun Hyang university hospital, were asked to fill out the satisfaction questionnaire regarding aspects of cost, comfort, esthetics, chewing, gingival health, food impaction, phonetic aspect, screw loosening, and general satisfaction. Responses to statements were given on the Likert response scale. Four experimental groups of patients were distinguished with various location ($A_1,\;A_2,\;A_3$), year ($B_1,\;B_2,\;B_3$), number of implant replacements ($C_1,\;C_2,\;C_3$), and treatment cost ($D_1,\;D_2,\;D_3$). The reliability of the response scales was measured by calculation of its internal consistency, expressed as Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The scales were distinguished by means of factor analysis method. Possible differences in scale scores among the groups were assessed by One-way ANOVA (${\alpha}$= 0.05). RESULTS: Patients responded to most of the statements with high satisfaction. But the mean scale score of statement about cost was low. After the verification of internal consistency and factor analysis, five components, e.g. general satisfaction, comfort, chewing efficiency, esthetics, and phonetic aspect were grouped together. These components could be explained with common meaning and the first factor was named as 'general satisfaction'. Differences in patient satisfaction on the scale with esthetics were present between patients who have been wearing the implant prosthesis less than three years and those more than seven years ($B_1<B_3$). CONCLUSION: The patients were generally satisfied with the outcome of implant treatment. But the patients' major complaint was high cost and while the statistically significant difference was not shown, the satisfaction scale about food impaction and esthetics was low. So the continuing efforts to make improvements about these problems are needed for the implant practitioners.
The study is aimed to find out the factors which have influence on customers' satisfaction from information and prompt them to repurchase, based on the patterns of information seeking which vary according to categories of traditional eating out processed food. 500 housewives living in megalopolis whose age ranges from 20s to 50s are targeted to the research, and the self-report questionnaires were used. and also the analysis on the frequency, t-test, and multiple regression were taken. The summarized conclusion is as following: First, in terms of the patterns of information seeking, consumers, in general, are found more likely to be internal seekers, who seek information based upon their past experience, rather than to be external seekers. Second, the comparison of satisfaction after purchase of the groups categorized by the patterns of information seeking shows that, in terms of traditional eating out processed food, on the contrary to other products, the satisfaction of internal seekers is higher than that of external seekers. Third, in both groups of internal seekers and external seekers, purchase assessment and the evaluation of efforts for information seeking are found to have influence on the intention to repurchase in terms of information seeking, but the influence of used information evaluation is partial.
The purpose of this study is to develop a Marriage Enrichment Program that can be applied to the actual lives of Korean families and couples, as well as adopted in family welfare programs. For this study, a quasi-experimental group design was employed and pre- and post- tests on Internal-External Control, Couple Communication, and Marital Satisfaction were conducted. Experimental participants consisted of six volunteer couples who responded to an advertisement by the Chonbuk Family Counseling Center printed in a daily newspaper. The experimental group received two hours of education on marital relationship enhancement every week for eight weeks. The control group received no such treatment. The effectiveness of the education was measured by Wilcox matched pair test, using a SAS program, as well as by the self-report of the participants. The results show that there was statistically significant improvement for the experimental group in all three areas of marriage-- internal control, couple communication, and marital satisfaction. In addition, the participants'evaluations were generally positive about the program. The participants reported that it was most helpful to learn through the educational program that individuals differ in basic needs and that they should not force personal beliefs on others. They also reported that their understanding of their spouse improved.
The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the level of the satisfaction and awareness of facilities in child care centers among teachers and parents. Special attention was given to both the indoor and outdoor environments from the viewpoints of both parents and teachers. The subject of this research focused on parents who leave their children at child care centers, and teachers who work for the center. The data was compiled by performing both T-tests and paired T-test. The information was processed by a program called SPSS WIN 10.0. The results were as follows ; 1. (a) With regard to the satisfaction of the external and internal facilities : It was determined that both the play rooms and the wall-pattern arrangements were satisfactory to both the parents and the teachers. (b) Regarding the awareness of the importance of facilities, while the parents focused more on the play rooms and the external environments, the teachers placed more importance on the bathrooms and the play rooms. 2. In the paired T-test that determined whether their individual opinions were different in terms of the satisfaction and awareness of facilities, it was interesting to see that both the parents and the teachers showed significant differences in their opinions and priorities about the porches, the play rooms, the bathrooms and the wall-pattern arrangements. In general, their awareness was much higher than the satisfaction with these facilities. 3. In the T-test that determined whether there were any tendencies in the satisfaction and awareness respectively in the two groups, the satisfaction rate was higher among the parents than the teachers. In terms of the awareness of the importance of the facilities, the teachers rated the bathrooms and the wall-pattern arrangements as a priority.
This paper has examined a resident's feeling of satisfaction on residential environment. It has searched a policy direction to improve the quality of residential environment with three models in which what factors have an influence on the resident's feeling of satisfaction is evaluated. First, when the residents were asked why they chose lease APT, Low price was answered the most between two populations. Second, with regard to the feeling of satisfaction by categories, both populations showed similar results. The social prejudice on lease APT such as disadvantage on their children and unfavorable surroundings that has been engraved in people's mind about lease APT for a long time was never an issue any more. Third, when the two populations were examined by regression analysis with three models in terms of what factors had an effect on the feeling of satisfaction, there was no big difference in each effect of variables. Internal environment was a key variable for lease APT while external environment was a core variable for the APT that is converted into installment sale. In order to enhance the feeling of satisfaction on residential environment for lease APT residents, high quality turned out the most important factor between both populations, and then a loan with low interest rate and high average standard of APT followed. As unsatisfactory items, low cultural level, slowness in repairing works, and unsatisfactory finishing work were pointed out with regard to the low quality of internal facilities. In general, it turned out that the APT that was converted into installment sale was more preferable than lease APT. As known in this analysis, housing supply policy needs to be focused on quality and high average standard of APT should be achieved for the working classes.
This study is to investigate and analyze the service quality and satisfaction perceived by users and librarians of the Foreign Research Information Center (FRIC). The survey results reveal that three groups of in-campus (internal) user group, external user group and interlibrary loan librarian group has highly perceived the service quality and satisfaction of the FRIC. Two user groups have statistically significant different perceptions on the service quality, loyalty, and satisfaction. Internal user group perceived more highly than external user group, in 6 items of satisfaction, 1 item of loyalty, and 7 items of service quality. Structural equation models of satisfaction and loyalty on two user groups were proved to be appropriate. Material factor including success rate of copied text and general physical status of the copy influences significantly on the user satisfaction in both groups.
Internal marketing is the marketing activities of organizations that have a service mind to give satisfaction to the employees for the satisfaction of external customers. This Study tried to analyse the impacts of internal marketing on the customer orientation and loyalty, collecting a data to use a standardized questionnaires. This Study was conducted for 731 participants in a single general hospital in Gyeonggi Province with factor analysis, correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, it was found that the effect of internal marketing on customer orientation had the impact on leadership, internal communication and educational training having the statistically significant effects. Second, it was found that the effect of internal marketing on loyalty had the impact on leadership, internal communication, working environment, compensation and benefits and educational training having the statistically significant effects. Third, the effect of customer orientation on loyalty have the statistically significant effects and it was shown that if a customer orientation go up, there will be higher loyalty. I'm hope that it should be sought concrete plans for internal marketing activity to improve a customer orientation and loyalty.
The purposes of this study were to examine the motivation of career choice for chefs in luxury hotels through IPA analysis based on the differences between importance and satisfaction, and to investigate the impact of motivations of career choice on job satisfaction. The results are as follows. First, "matched aptitude" and "interest in cook" were found as factors of importance and satisfaction. Second, sufficient reward should be provided through incentive, increasing salary, and promotion. Third, the system of internship and temporary employee should be revised, and the motivation should be provided through performance-based reward and incentive system. Fourth, fair personal evaluation, transparent promotion system, fair reward system should be required to increase job satisfaction. Fifth, internal environment is important rather than social reputation or popularity for those who consider chefs as future career.
