'연속된 공간, 내부 사회'에 관한 논고 - 건축과 도시 그리고 건축과 전원/시골의 연속적인 공간 관계를 중심으로 (Treatise on the Continuum of Spaces, Society of Interiors - Focused on The Continuous Rapport of Space between Architecture and The City, and Architecture and The Countryside)

  • The paper begins with the idea of the society of the continued rooms that building connects architectural space (building interior) and urban open space (urban interior) or countryside/rural open space (territorial interior). It gives an account of, through literature review, a theoretical possibility of integrating not only architecture and urbanism but also architecture and countryside/rural planning. The first site explores the continuously articulated and connected spaces between building interior, urban interior, and territorial interior, in understanding Alberti's analogy, "A house is a little city." (1452) The second site illustrates architecture as an open boundary and a spatial medium which makes building, urban, and territorial interiors connect and makes them continuous. There is an opportunity of reading the continued relations and the continua of spaces. The third site deals with the form of building that architecture creates for building interior (society of rooms) and urban interior (society of urban rooms), and moderates the interiors. The last site clarifies the territorial interior (society of countryside/rural rooms) that constitutes homogeneous spatiality moderated by architecture between building interior and urban interior. The paper discusses the society of the continued interiors(building/urban/territorial interiors) that ought to be a fundamental truth in the field of every project which deals with a unit of space. It logically clarifies the society of the interiors, not isolated and blocked off but multilayered and continued. It comes to the conclusion that the territorial interior should be subsumed under the design field and the society of the continued rooms ought to be considered as a united object of space in the fields of interior architecture/design, architecture, landscape, urbanism and countryside/rural planning. Ultimately, it aims at offering a departing point of discourse and a theoretical foundation for the future studies on urban interior and territorial interior.

실내조경 수공간의 이용만족도 요인 평가 (A Study on User's Satisfaction of Water Space Design in Interior Landscape Architecture Space)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse six different factors of water space that influence interior landscape architecture of officers and commercial spaces. Six different factors of water space that influence interior landscape architecture are the height of the water space, the design form, the blending with the location environment, location, general satisfaction with the water space, and general satisfaction with whole space. The results of this study are as follows: 1. Water space of commercial space was bigger than office space. The satisfaction is the highest in 0∼0.6M(B2) of office space and 3.5M(C6) of commercial space. The cascade form in the office space and large water volume design in commercial areas, which supplies abundant sound and water volume, were the highest. 2. In the analysis of preferences, the design form and the general design of the office space influences satisfaction levels. The height of the water space, and a combination of other factors influence general satisfaction. Water space influences commercial areas in higher degrees. 3. The items were most desired or satisfactory for interior landscape architecture were a cascade, water fall, and small water fountain. 4. A place introduced with water space had higher satisfaction levels. Water space produces higher than general satisfaction and indicates water, space alone cannot make general interior space satisfactory, although it can make interior landscape architecture space satisfactory. 5. There is more general satisfaction in commercial space than in office space. 6. The design of water space influences overall satisfaction: a rest area of office space needs an impressive and aggressive approach, while the office space should harmonize with its surroundings, as a commercial space.

  • Understanding the consumer changed life styles are integrated, mutual complement for user's worth and consciousness, the life of consumption, etc. Recently, Apartment Model House has built for distribute to Apartment house When they enter the units after 2 or 3 years. So, Interior designer make an inference from the changed life styles. But, We don't have enough information to trace the design trend about residential space design. Design database is correspond with interior space and structured entity relationship. There are three parts in this Database, Type, Elements and Relation information. Type are composed size, ages, style, and space, Elements are materials and space elements. Relation information are publishing, designer, exhibition, construction company, remodeling, Intoner design and User favorite styles are the development in web environment. This research supplies interior design information for Web environment and trend analysis supports collaboration with development of interior design information database.

디자인 호텔에 나타난 실내디자인 표현특성 - 토니 치의 작품을 중심으로 - (A Study on The Characteristics of Interior Design In Design Hotels - Focusing on Tony Chi's Works -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of interior space in his design hotel through the analysis of Tony Chi 's work and to present the direction of the design direction of the interior space of the design hotel in the future based on the results. The results are summarized as follows. First, the characteristics of the interior space of Tony Chi are divided into visual balance, repetitive rhythm, symbolic emphasis, exaggerated scale, design harmony, and physical borderlessness. Second, the spatial composition through visual balance was consistently shown in all cases, mainly by arranging elements such as furniture and lighting symmetrically. Third, the spatial composition through repetitive rhythm did not show its characteristics at the beginning of the works, but gradually appeared as repetitive rhythm expression using bold pattern. Fourth, Toni Chi constantly expressed the space composition through symbolic emphasis during the planning of the design hotel. Fifth, the exaggerated scale was mainly used to express the architectural detail vertically according to the height of the ceiling to express a grand space and appear in many works. Sixth, Toni Chi consistently expressed the composition of space through the harmony of design of oriental and western cultures, classical and modern designs in all cases. Seventh. In order to provide curiosity induction and aesthetic experience, spatial composition through physical borderlessness was used.

실내공간에 나타난 유기적 디자인 표현 특성에 관한 연구 - 자하 하디드, 카림 라시드, 파비오 노벰브레, 녹스의 유기적 디자인 작품을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Organic Design Applied to Interior - Centering on Organic Design by Zaha Hadid, Karim Rshid, Fabio Nobembre and Nox -)

  • The nature is the foundation of human life and arts, and human beings have found order and principle amid ceaseless change and harmonization of the nature and diversified patterns and directly or indirectly applied the nature to interior through discovered principles. Interior space to which the organic factors of the nature is an expression of the vitality of the nature and expresses live forms as seen in change, development and growth of living organisms in addition to human feelings. The study aims to recognize the necessity of studies on interior space to which organic expressive characteristics of the nature are applied in uniformed space, suggest expressive characteristics and propose needed basic data required at a time of designing interior space. In this regard, the study has examined works by five contemporary designers including Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, Fabio Novembre and Nox with an aim to analyze expressive characteristics of interior design and figure expressive characteristics of organic design found in interior space. According to analyses on preceding literary studies and case studies (14 places), it has been found that organic expressive characteristics in interior space include vision, tactile sensation and auditory sense in terms of sensitivity, immateriality in terms of a property of matter, metaphor and abstraction in terms of the form of natural objects and non-linear curves and free curves in organic design. Organic spaces were characterized by symbolism, directionality, continuity, pattern and superimposition. This conclusion is expected to be useful in subsequent studies on the application of organic expressive characteristic factors at a time of planning interior space in the future.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the artistic characteristics of light and adjustment in space, and how meaningful this integral phenomenon is to human beings , whin a space is transformed into a dynamic subject by light. When we create a very unique space we need to adjust light in all environments and must recognize the substance of light in all human spaces. The study of interior design is dependant on the existence of these lights in space. Light plays a very integral role in life having great contingency in the artistic characteristics represented in space. Light is a non-materialistic substance. However, when this substance is realized as a materialistic , light has a very visual effect, having a pleasing and satisfying effect on humans. The artistic characteristic of light in interior space are represented through elements of tranquility , direction . recognition, symbolism , and design. Light has a limitless amount of potential for giving humans boundless possibilities in space and expression . By studying psychological and physical aspects of the flow of light we are able to enjoy its fruitful benefits in the space of interior architectural design.

디자인의 원리에 의거한 레스토랑 프로젝트의 공간구성에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Space Organization of Restaurant Projects Based on the Principles of Design)

  • The purpose of this study is to comprehend how traditional design theory, 'design elements and principles' have been applied to space design, taking interior designs of restaurants as the subjects of the research. Furthermore, this study intends to provide practical help to the restaurant designers and students who major in interior design, by summarizing the applications case by case. For the analysis, 10 restaurant projects were selected to which 'design elements and principles' were well applied. In order to widen the scope of application cases, this study selected four Korean restaurant projects, and three US and Japan restaurant projects, respectively. Through the analysis, it was found that many unexpected results can be produced when various elements composing a space are combined together, including not only two-dimensional elements such as plane and color, texture, and pattern but also three-dimensional elements and architectural elements composing interior space. Moreover, I became to have confidence that 'design elements and principles' would sustain the value in most design parts including interior design in the future as well.

한국 실내디자인 분야의 교육현황 분석 - 4년제 대학교의 교과과정을 중심으로 - (The Analysis of the Educational Conditions of Interior Design in Korea - Focused on the Curriculum of 4 year Universities)

  • Now that 15 years have passed since its introduction to 4 year college in Korea and we have 51 majors in the field of Intoner design established at 47 universities as of 2003, we are in the position to seek the improvement of its educational qualify. With a view to provide data for the setup of proper educational purpose, it has classified their divisions(departments) according to their major names and belonged colleges of the universities and considered their geographical distributions, groupings of curriculum, their framing and features of a standard curriculum. 1)Divisions of the universities where the major of interior design belongs are divided into three categories of design division (design 8t arts, arts), home economics division (home economics, natural science) and architectural division. For the development of the major, universities to which circumstances permit are recommended to establish an independent college of interior design following the . cases in the US. 2) Geographical preponderance of interior design major on Seoul and Gyeongsang Province is desired to be improved. 3) Curriculum of interior design, which is classified into introduction, history of interior design, theory of interior design, design of interior space, digital technology, design elements of inner space, technology of interior design, behavior of environmental psychology, design management and other subjects, was made into a table by divisions. To sum up, curriculum of interior design concentrates on basic design theory throughout all divisions. In connection with the selection of division by high school-graduates or their parents, design division is recommended for those who desire to major in design elements and design management, home economics division for those who desire to major in space design and behavior of environmental psychology and architectural division for those who desire to major in Interior space design, interior design technology and regulations. 4) This research can contribute to the settlement of desirable curriculum for the interior design education, thus upgrading the education level of the major in Korea.

현대 상업공간 실내에서 나타나는 재료의 표현특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design Characteristics of Material in Contemporary Commercial Interior Space)

  • One of the characteristics of contemporary interior design is the prominence of material and its challenge to the established concept of interior design. As material has risen to the new element of design, losing its old concept as something secondary surrounding space, it had become an useful instrument to create unique images as well as to express the paradigm of space that modern society demands. The active role of material has made itself one of the primary elements that make a difference in design. Particularly in commercial spaces where sales are important and attractive spaces are needed, material has been emergent conveying its appling to consumers. Therefore, this study analyses the materiality that material has and its characteristics represented as images in commercial spaces. With the analysis, it researches further into the unlimited possibility of material and show the way for modern interior design to head for.

구매심리과정(AIDMA)모델을 적용한 식음공간의 실내디자인요소 분석 (Analysis of Interior Design Elements in Food and Beverage Applying the Psychological Process of Purchasing(AIDMA) Model)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data that can improve added value of commercial space strategically using the identification of relationship between the process of consumers' purchasing psychology (AIDMA : Attention, Interest, Desire, Memory, Action) and elements of interior design. For this purpose, case study and survey were carried out on food and beverage spaces, where they were doing business for more than two years, were selected from the ones appeared in the interior journal "A." Based on the study, basic details including a ground plan, design summary and representative image were identified through preliminary research, and a researcher visited the target spaces and carried out a research and analysis on interior design elements. Three spaces among targets of the case study were selected to identify the relation between design elements and AIDMA items which consumers feel, and the survey was conducted on the customers of the selected food and beverage spaces. Results of the case study on the 18 food and beverage spaces showed that features of the each of AIDMA items in material and color elements were most well expressed. As a result of survey conducted on visitors of each food and beverage space, features of each item were expressed in overall design elements. In particular, space elements and color elements in "Space 1," space elements and lighting elements in "Space 2" and space elements, furniture & objet elements in "Space 3" were most well expressed in each space. There were slight differences depending on individual characteristics such as design concept, location and business operation of target food and beverage spaces but attributes of AIDMA items were remarkably recognized in common in the space elements.
