We consider the Device-to-Device (D2D) communications in cellular networks where each cellular user (CU) shares the same resource with multiple D2D users (DUs). In this paper, we aim to maximize the energy efficiency (EE) of the D2D networks, subject to an interference constraint required by the CU. Since the cellular and D2D communications belong to different networks, we consider to incentivize base station (BS) while assisting the DUs. To this end, we propose a Stackelberg game based interference pricing framework for the considered D2D communications in cellular networks. Unlike most of the existing methods, we use interference pricing framework to jointly address the EE resource allocation problem and the interference management in our networks rather than only improve the EE of the DUs or protect cellular networks. In particular, BS and all the users do not need all channel state information, which is more realistic in practice. In addition, two different pricing strategies are also proposed. Based on the two strategies, we analyze the equilibrium of the game. Moreover, in the first strategy, the upper and lower boundaries of the interference price are obtained. The closed-form expression is gained with a backward induction for the second strategy. Both offer valuable insights to the considered scenarios. Finally, compared with the existing work, the EE of the D2D communications is significantly improved. The advantageous performance of our scheme are demonstrated by the simulation results.

D2D (Device-to-Device) communication on an underlying cellular infrastructure which exploits the same spectrum has several advantages such as increased resource utilization and improved cellular coverage. However, D2D communication system needs to cope with ICI (Inter-Cell Interference) and interference between cellular and D2D links. As a result, macro UEs (User Equipments), especially those located near cell edge, will suffer from serious link performance degradation. We propose a novel interference avoidance mechanism assisted by SRN (Shared Relay Node) in this paper. SRN not only performs data re-transmission as a usual Type II relay but also has several features newly defined to avoid interference between cellular and D2D links. In particular, we suggest resource allocation methods based on the SRN for effective interference avoidance, and evaluate their performance through computer simulations.

Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is a technology component for long-term evolution-advanced (LTE-A). In D2D communication, users in close proximity to each other can communicate directly without going through a base station; such direct communication can improve spectral efficiency. Although D2D communication brings improvement in spectral efficiency, it also causes interference to the cellular network as a result of spectrum sharing. In particularly, D2D communication can generate interference for each D2D pair when the common wireless medium in a co-located limited area is accessed. Even though the interference management for between the D2D pair and cellular networks has been proposed, the interference reducing methods have still not been fully studied for the D2D pairs. In this paper, we investigate the problem of D2D pair coexistence in which interference is considered between D2D pairs. Using a signal to interference model for a target D2D pair, we provide an analysis of the aggregated throughput of a dense D2D network. For a target D2D pair, we assume that the desired signal and interference signals obey multipath fading and shadow fading. Through analysis, we demonstrate the effect of cluster size such as the number of D2D pairs and the size of the considered area on the network performance. The analytical results are compared with computer simulations. Our work can be used for a rough guideline for controlling the system throughput in a dense D2D network environment.

In this paper, we propose a ceil model based on the wraparound method to simulate the hierarchical CDMA cellular system in an effective and efficient manner. The model uses the minimal number of cells by considering only one tier but compensates the interference by other cells in the higher tiers sufficiently. Various numerical tests demonstrate that the proposed model can be used to simulate the complex and large-sized hierarchical cellular system effectively. Especially, the interference compensation can reduce the required simulation time to 1/100 for 10 tiers cellular system.
Optical wireless communication, or free space optics, is a promising solution for backhauls in sixth-generation mobile systems. However, the susceptibility of optical links to weather conditions has led to FSO links being furnished with radio frequency (RF) backups. These Hybrid FSO/RF systems provide enhanced link availability but lead to RF resource wastage. Cognitive radio technology, in contrast, is well known for its optimal use of RF resources and may be combined with an FSO link to create a Cognitive Hybrid FSO/RF system. This work uses such a system to analyze a configuration for a mobile backhaul in sixth-generation mobile systems. This configuration can seamlessly coexist with established large scale RF cellular networks. The performance of this configuration is analyzed with respect to outage probability and average bit error by considering the impact of optical channel turbulence, misalignment loss, RF interference, and noise. Mathematical closed-form expressions are verified by simulations.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of the pain management education on pain of the terminal cancer patients at home. For evaluating the effectiveness of the intervention modified Patient Outcome Questionnaire (APS, 1995) including patients concerns with cancer pain management, pain intensity, and interference of daily activities related to pain were measured before and after the education in control group and experimental group and the differences were compared with each other. Satisfaction with pain management was measured after the intervention. Pain management education was delivered to 16 experimental group patients by home care nurses, who were provided with 3-hour education on cancer pain management by one of the researchers. Pain management education included common misconceptions about cancer pain control and pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions and emphasis was put on the importance of pain reports and patients' active participation in pain management. The results of the study were as follows. Patients concerns with pain management were decreased more greatly in the experimental group than those of the control group. The worst, average, and present pain intensities during the last 24 hours were decreased more greatly in the experimental group, and total score and each subcategory of the interference of daily living, except walking, were decreased more greatly in the experimental group. And satisfaction score with total pain management and nurses response to the pain reports were higher in the experimental group. The results of this study suggest that pain management education given to the patients by home care nurses is a very useful intervention to improve pain of the cancer patients at home. This positive result is thought to derive from patients' active pain report and participation in pain control and the use of powder form sustained release morphine for breakthrough pain control in part. Further studies with increased sample size from more institutions are recommended and early introduction of short acting morphine is strongly suggested for effective cancer pain control.
pressure buried pipes in domestic industrial estate have many long-term use pipes, Toxic, flammable, Inflammable, etc. as well as a variety of toxic chemicals are embedded in a complex be buried, A high level of safety management is required as it can damage other pipes installed nearby in the event of accidents such as various external interference. Therefore, in this study, the safety management practices of high-pressure gas distribution and urban gas distribution are utilized to derive efficient safety management methods for high-pressure gas installation piping through in-depth comparative analysis.

Construction projects are large-scale projects that require extensive construction costs and resources. Especially, scheduling is considered as one of the essential issues for project success. However, the schedule and resource management are challenging to conduct in high-tech construction projects including complex design of MEP and architectural finishing which has to be constructed within a limited workspace and duration. In order to deal with such a problem, this study suggests resource and sequence optimization using constraint programming in construction projects. The optimization model consists of two modules. The first module is the data structure of the schedule model, which consists of parameters for optimization such as labor, task, workspace, and the work interference rate. The second module is the optimization module, which is for optimizing resources and sequences based on Constraint Programming (CP) methodology. For model validation, actual data of plumbing works were collected from a construction project using a five-minute rate (FMR) method. By comparing actual data and optimized results, this study shows the possibility of reducing the duration of plumbing works in construction projects. This study shows decreased overall project duration by eliminating work interference by optimizing resources and sequences within limited workspaces.
A serious problem with traditional 'command & control' spectrum management techniques is that they do not easily accommodate new technologies and new services. This paper describes the necessary principles of flexible-use spectrum rights which may allow a wide variety of spectrum uses in a single general-purpose band. Based on the electrospace description of the radio spectrum, these principles allow general aggregation or division of licensed electrospace regions via secondary markets, providing rules for how regulatory limits change under aggregation or division. These flexible-use principles limit transmitter behaviors that tend to create a more difficult operating environment for receivers, while making receivers responsible for handling any remaining interference. The author shows how flexible-use principles could provide a basis for real-world flexible-use frequency bands.

In this paper, an auctioning strategy is proposed for cellular networks that ensures net energy savings. The pricing scheme, in conjunction with a two dimensional bid structure, incentivizes cooperation at the terminal nodes for better interference management at receivers and for cooperative relaying. It is shown that, for the proposed auctioning strategy, network operators are guaranteed revenue gains, mobile nodes' dominant strategy is to bid their true valuation of their energy resources, and overall effective energy gains occur under the assumption of a reserve price for bidding. Simulation results show that significant energy savings can be achieved by employing this auctioning mechanism for a 3G cellular set-up.
