The purpose of this study is to estimate the minimum proportion of probe vehicles for obtaining expressway traffic information using VISSIM, a micro traffic simulation model, between Yongin IC and Yangji IC on Yeongdong Expressway. 7,200 scenarios were created for the experiment, and 40 scenarios were adopted using the Latin hypercube sampling method because it was difficult to perform all the scenarios through experiments. The reliability of the experiment was improved by adding a situation when the general situation and the accident situation exist. In the experiments, the average travel time of probe vehicles at different market penetration rates were compared with the average travel time of the entire vehicles. As a result, the minimum market penetration rate of probe vehicles for obtaining expressway traffic information was found to be 45%. In addition, it is estimated that 25% market penetration rate of probe vehicle can meet 70% of traffic situations in accident scenario.
This paper proposes a segmentation method for overlapped vehicles based on analysis of the vehicle location and the spatiotemporal association information. This method can be used in an intelligent transport system. In the proposed method, occlusion is detected by analyzing the association information based on a vehicle's location in continuous images, and occlusion segmentation is carried out by using the vehicle information prior to occlusion. In addition, the size variations of the vehicle to which association tracking is applied can be anticipated by learning the variations according to the overlapped vehicles' movements. To assess the performance of the suggested method, image data collected from CCTVs recording traffic information is used, and average success rate of occlusion segmentation is 96.9%.

A fuzzy logic for collision avoiding navigation of marine vehicles is proposed in this paper. VFF(Virtual Force Field) method, which is used widely in the field of mobile robots, is modifiel to apply to marine vehicles. The method is named MVFF (Modified Virtual Force Field) mothod. The MVFF consists of the determination of the heading angles far track-keeping mode ($\psi_{ca}$)and collision avoidance mode ($\psi_{ca}$). The operator can choose the pattern of the track-keeping mode in the proposed algorithm. The collision avoidance algorithm can handle static and/or moving obstacles. These functons are implemented using fuzzy logic. Various simulation results verify the proposed alogorithm.

This thesis describes the active cruise control which is a part of AVHS(Advanced Vehicle and Highway System) in the ITS(Intelligent Transportation Systems). The active cruise control is a system which recognizes some obstructions and vehicles in front, drives in safe speed and puts on the brake in dangerous situations as the driver simply turns on the switch without stepping on the accelerator and brake. PID controller is used in the speed-control by linearizing the longitudinal model of the vehicle, obstacle detecting algorithm which makes use of the laser scanner is proposed to recognize the situation in front and the system's performance is tested.

Overloaded Vehicles are one of biggest of hazard in durability decrease of roads and bridges. Thus, regulation was put in force about overloaded vehicles to reserve this problem. However, existing system had many problems. For these reasons, this paper presents solutions of U-intelligent overload vehicles regulation system based on manless and wireless for fixing of problems of existing system and construction of ITS. With this in mind, we studied about composition method of system. applications of USN, design of system controller, WCDMA/HSDPA, etc in this paper.
M2M has shown the advantages of better coverage and lower network deployment cost. Intelligent vehicle section shows severe changes in position between vehicles and has numerous large scales of networks in its components, therefore, it is required to provide safety by exchanging information between vehicles equipped with wireless communication function via biometric information in VANET(Vehicular Ad hoc Network). This thesis is to propose scheme that mutually authenticates between vehicles by composing vehicle movement as biometric information.

The recent efforts in academia and industry represent a paradigm shift that will extend the IoT from the home environment so that it is interoperable with the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). IoV is a special kind of IoT. It allows to connect between vehicle and things located in infrastructure. Furthermore, IoV enable to create new intelligent services through collaboration with existing various services such as smart city and connected home. In this paper, we develop a service in order to realize IoV. To this end, we design a novel vehicle service platform which could automatical controlling the IoT device according to drivers' voice. To show practical usability of our proposed platform, we develop a prototype service could be call car-to-thing (C2T). We expect that our proposed platform could eventually contribute to realizing IoV.

Video surveillance is widely used in security surveillance, military navigation, intelligent transportation, etc. Its main research fields are pattern recognition, computer vision and artificial intelligence. This article uses OpenCV to detect and track vehicles, and monitors by establishing an adaptive model on a stationary background. Compared with traditional vehicle detection, it not only has the advantages of low price, convenient installation and maintenance, and wide monitoring range, but also can be used on the road. The intelligent analysis and processing of the scene image using CAMSHIFT tracking algorithm can collect all kinds of traffic flow parameters (including the number of vehicles in a period of time) and the specific position of vehicles at the same time, so as to solve the vehicle offset. It is reliable in operation and has high practical value.
In the mid 1990s, the combination of vehicles and communication was expected to bolster the stagnant car industry by offering a flood of new revenues. In-vehicle computing systems provide safety and control systems needed to operate the vehicle as well as infotainment, edutainment, entertainment, and mobile commerce services in a safe and responsible manner. Since 1980 the word "telematics" has meant the blending of telecommunications and informatics. Lately, telematics has been used more and more to mean "automotive telematics" which use informatics and telecommunications to enhance the functionality of motor vehicles such as wireless data applications, intelligent cruise control, and GPS in vehicles. This definition identifies telecommunications transferring information as the key enabling technology to provide these advanced services. In this paper, a possible framework for future telematics, which called an Intelligent Vehicle Network(IVN), is proposed. The paper also introduces and compares a number of existing technologies and the terms of their capabilities to support a suite of services. The paper additionally the paper suggests and analyzes possible directions for future telematics from current telematics techniques.

Interest in self-driving vehicle research has been rapidly increasing, and related research has been continuously conducted. In such a fast-paced self-driving vehicle research area, the development of advanced technology for better convenience safety, and efficiency in road and transportation systems is expected. Here, we investigate research in self-driving vehicles and analyze the main technologies of driverless car software, including: technical aspects of autonomous vehicles, traffic infrastructure and its communications, research techniques with vision recognition, deep leaning algorithms, localization methods, existing problems, and future development directions. First, we introduce intelligent self-driving car and road infrastructure algorithms such as machine learning, image processing methods, and localizations. Second, we examine the intelligent technologies used in self-driving car projects, autonomous vehicles equipped with multiple sensors, and interactions with transport infrastructure. Finally, we highlight the future direction and challenges of self-driving vehicle transportation systems.
