  • This paper introduces unmaned fully automation systems, which are applied for the CSTR(Continuously Stirred Tank Reactor) and SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) wastewater treatment system. The pilot plant is constructed in the country side which is little far from a main city. So networks and wireless modules are employed for the data transmission. The SBR plant has a local control and the remote monitoring system which is contained communication parts which consist of ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) network and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) Wireless module. Remote control and monitoring systems are constructed at laboratory in a metropolis.

  • 유비쿼터스 환경에서 지능형 로봇의 실시간 원격 제어 및 모니터링 기술은 로봇의 센서나 카메라 영상으로 획득한 다양한 컨텐츠를 시간과 지역에 비 의존적으로 공유할 수 있는 서비스를 창출한다. 본 논문에서는 지능형 로봇의 원격 실시간 감시/제어 방법을 제안한다. URC는 기존의 로봇에 네트웍크 및 정보기술을 접목하여 유선 및 무선 통신이 가능한 외부 디지털 장치와 상호 연동하도록 설계된 지능형 로봇이다. ISSAC4라는 국민 로봇에 본 연구결과를 적용하고, 실용적 가치를 검증하였다. 연속성을 보장하는 Client-Pull 방식의 실시간 영상 전송 방식으로 위치에 상관없이 웹 브라우저를 통한 원격 제어가 가능하도록 설계하였다.

The Implementation of RRTs for a Remote-Controlled Mobile Robot

  • The original RRT is iteratively expanded by applying control inputs that drive the system slightly toward randomly-selected states, as opposed to requiring point-to-point convergence, as in the probabilistic roadmap approach. It is generally known that the performance of RRTs can be improved depending on the selection of the metrics in choosing the nearest vertex and bias techniques in choosing random states. We designed a path planning algorithm based on the RRT method for a remote-controlled mobile robot. First, we considered a bias technique that is goal-biased Gaussian random distribution along the command directions. Secondly, we selected the metric based on a weighted Euclidean distance of random states and a weighted distance from the goal region. It can save the effort to explore the unnecessary regions and help the mobile robot to find a feasible trajectory as fast as possible. Finally, the constraints of the actuator should be considered to apply the algorithm to physical mobile robots, so we select control inputs distributed with commanded inputs and constrained by the maximum rate of input change instead of random inputs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is significantly more efficient for planning than a basic RRT planner. It reduces the computational time needed to find a feasible trajectory and can be practically implemented in a remote-controlled mobile robot.

  • 센서 네트워크 시스템 기반의 저 전력, 저 비용의 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 설계 및 구현 하였다. RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator)기반의 사용자 실내 위치 추적 시스템과 Dynamic multi-hop routing 시스템, 학습형 통합 리모컨을 활용한 능동적 가전기기 제어 시스템을 각각 설계하여 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구현 하였다. 지능형 서비스를 위해 반드시 팔요한 사용자 위치 정보는 RSSI기반의 삼각측량을 통해 계산하고 측정된 위치 정보값의 오차를 줄이기 위해 Smoothing Algorithm을 적용하였다. 또한 지능형 홈네트워크 서비스 제공을 위해 사용자가 휴대하는 무선 센서노드를 Layout 하여 설계, 제작하였으며 수집된 사용자의 실시간 위치 정보와 환경 센서 데이타는 Dynamic multi-hop routing을 통해 서버 프로그램으로 전달되며 각종 계산을 통해 사용자 위치정보와 환경 정보가 디스플레이 된다.

  • In recent years, it has been a worldwide trend that many power utilities gave their attention to develop and operate their power plants, substation and distribution systems. Following this trend, KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) has developed many electric automation systems with various communication networks. It has been natural that the automation systems are just focused on to remote devices when they come to be designed. But, we have to shirt the focus to the automation system itself. There are many problems in maintenance and integration of the automation systems. When an automation system can't control some remote devices, there is no way to get why and which part(Master, Network, Master-side Modem or Remote-side modem, Remote Device, etc.) of the system has problems. Moreover the system just directly links to another automation system. If the system has to link many systems, it needs the linker per each systems. So, we need a new concept to resolve that problems, and develop the Intelligent and Integrated Gateway(IIG) for the automation systems for easy maintenance and integration.

  • Distribution Automation System (DAS) will provide supervision and remote control of switches and reclosers such as pole pounted switches and pad-mounted switchgears on high voltage distribution line. Kepco had developed basic function such as remote monitoring, remote control, remote measuring and remote setting at first. As a next step, Kepco has been developed diverse application programs such as single line diagram drawing program, relay coordination program, feeder reconfiguration program, over load elimination program, bad data detection program, section load management program, fault processing program and so on. Kepco is examining to develop more powerful functions for special specification of foreign distribution automation system. This paper explains what is the target for overseas DAS market.

  • Modem Industrial control systems tend to adopt a variety of intelligent wireless device controllers to interface front-end computers with active components of the industrial device. Some of the intelligent control systems come equipped with a wireless SMS(Simple Message Service) interface giving an opportunity to use fault alarm Interlock system. Immediately send warning or alert messages to Mobile devices or remote users. Real time monitoring the SMS systems by Mobile devices. Control systems remotely by mobile devices in emergency situation. In order to provide against system fault, SMS Mobile System will enable system administrator to promptly access, monitor and control the system whenever users want and wherever users are, by utilizing wireless Internet and mobile devices.   • 본 논문은 PDA(개인용 휴대용 단말기)를 이용하여 원격제어하는 이동로봇 시스템을 구현하였다. 현재 급속도로 발전하는 인터넷 개발 기술 때문에 이를 기반으로 하는 많은 원격 제어 방법들이 제안되어 왔다. 주변환경을 인지 못하는 상황하에서 안내와 인터넷을 통한 이동 로봇 제어를 위하여 PDA를 활용한 제어를 제안한다 이에 제안하는 시스템은 사용자 인터페이스인 PDA와 이동로봇의 컨트롤러인 노트북과 통신을 한다. 이를 위해 TCP/IP 프로토콜을 이용한다. 회전각도 조절방향과 속도에 대한 정보가 PDA에서 이동로봇에 피드백 되며 퍼지 추론엔진으로부터 출력된 새로운 제어값을 PDA가 보내게 된다

  • The development of an unmanned vehicle basically requires the robust and reliable performance of major functions which include global localization, lane detection, obstacle avoidance, path planning, etc. The implementation of major functional subsystems are possible by integrating and fusing data acquired from various sensory systems such as GPS, vision, ultrasonic sensor, encoder, and electric compass. This paper focuses on implementing the functional subsystems, which are designed and developed by a graphical programming tool, NI LabVIEW, and also verifying the autonomous navigation and remote control of the unmanned vehicle.

  • This paper studies an automation problem of a heating, a ventilating, and an air conditioning (HVAC) for the development of smart space. The HVAC system is described by the fuzzy system for the stability analysis and the controller design. The linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) conditions are derived for the stabilization problem of the closed-loop system under the analog control. Also, it is required to digitally redesign the pre-designed the analog HVAC control system in order to accomplish the remote control via web. It is shown the this digital redesign problem can be converted to the convex optimization problem with the LMI constraints. An example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
