Integrating IndoorGML and Indoor POI Data for Navigation Applications in Indoor Space

  • Indoor spatial data has great importance as the demand for representing the complex urban environment in the context of providing LBS (Location-based Services) is increasing. IndoorGML (Indoor Geographic Markup Language) has been established as the data standard for spatial data in providing indoor navigation, but its definitions and relationships must be expanded to increase its applications and to successfully delivering information to users. In this study, we propose an approach to integrate IndoorGML with Indoor POI (Points of Interest) data by extending the IndoorGML notion of space and topological relationships. We consider two cases of representing Indoor POI, by 3D geometry and by point primitive representation. Using the concepts of the NRS (node-relation structure) and multi-layered space representation of IndoorGML, we define layers to separate features that represent the spaces and the Indoor POI into separate, but related layers. The proposed methodology was implemented with real datasets to evaluate its effectiveness for performing indoor spatial analysis.

Geostatistical Integration of Different Sources of Elevation and its Effect on Landslide Hazard Mapping

  • The objective of this paper is to compare the prediction performances of different landslide hazard maps based on topographic data stemming from different sources of elevation. The geostatistical framework of kriging, which can properly integrate spatial data with different accuracy, is applied for generating more reliable elevation estimates from both sparse elevation spot heights and exhaustive ASTER-based elevation values. A case study from Boeun, Korea illustrates that the integration of elevation and slope maps derived from different data yielded different prediction performances for landslide hazard mapping. The landslide hazard map constructed by using the elevation and the associated slope maps based on geostatistical integration of spot heights and ASTER-based elevation resulted in the best prediction performance. Landslide hazard mapping using elevation and slope maps derived from the interpolation of only sparse spot heights showed the worst prediction performance.

현장 GPR 탐사자료와 지하공간통합지도 상호위치 정확도 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of Positional Accuracy between the GPR Survey Data and Underground Space Integration Map)

  • 최근의 도심지에서 발생하고 있는 지반함몰 및 침하, 노후 지하시설물 파손 등의 지하 안전에 관한 이슈가 증가하고 있어 보다 정확한 지하시설물의 관리 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현장에서 취득하는 GPR 탐사 성과로부터 취득한 지하시설물 공간정보와 지하공간통합지도의 공간정보를 상호 비교하는 기법을 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발한 지하공간통합지도 연계 현장활용 서비스 프로토타입 프로그램을 사용하여 강남역 주변 일부 구간에 대하여 현장 활용성 검증을 위한 GPR 탐사성과와 지하공간통합지도의 위치 정보를 비교한 결과 최대 0.879m, 최소 0.101m, 평균 오차는 0.625m로 나타났다. GPR탐사 성과의 정확도가 보장될 경우 지하공간통합지도의 위치정확도 개선에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Bias Correction of Satellite-Based Precipitation Using Convolutional Neural Network

  • Spatial precipitation data is one of the essential components in modeling hydrological problems. The estimation of these data has achieved significant achievements own to the recent advances in remote sensing technology. However, there are still gaps between the satellite-derived rainfall data and observed data due to the significant dependence of rainfall on spatial and temporal characteristics. An effective approach based on the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to correct the satellite-derived rainfall data is proposed in this study. The Mekong River basin, one of the largest river system in the world, was selected as a case study. The two gridded precipitation data sets with a spatial resolution of 0.25 degrees used in the CNN model are APHRODITE (Asian Precipitation - Highly-Resolved Observational Data Integration Towards Evaluation) and PERSIANN-CDR (Precipitation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks). In particular, PERSIANN-CDR data is exploited as satellite-based precipitation data and APHRODITE data is considered as observed rainfall data. In addition to developing a CNN model to correct the satellite-based rain data, another statistical method based on standard deviations for precipitation bias correction was also mentioned in this study. Estimated results indicate that the CNN model illustrates better performance both in spatial and temporal correlation when compared to the standard deviation method. The finding of this study indicated that the CNN model could produce reliable estimates for the gridded precipitation bias correction problem.

3차원 공간 모형 데이터의 구축과 활용 (3D Spatial Data Model Design and Application)

  • 3차원 공간 모형, 즉 3차원 CG 도시 모델은 건물이나 도로, 강 등의 사회 환경을 가상공간으로 표현하고 GIS(지리 정보 시스템)등의 정보 시스템에서 데이터를 축적${\cdot}$관리하여 광범위한 분야에서 다양한 활용이 기대되는 중요한 정보기반이다. 현재는 이러한 3차원 CG 도시 모델 구축을 위한 데이터 취득이나 모델 작성에는 많은 수작업이 필요하고 막대한 시간과 노력이 걸린다. 본 논문에서는 $\lceil$3차원 공간 데이터 기반$\rfloor$을 GIS와 CG로 통합화하고 자동 생성한 정보 시스템에 관하여 소개한다. 이 시스템에서는 GIS가 관리${\cdot}$축적한 수치지도상의 건물 경계선 다각형에 대하여 필터링, 다각형분할, 윤곽선의 생성 등의 처리를 하고 CG 시스템이 이것의 데이터를 받아서 지형의 도형 정보와 속성 정보를 설계하여 건물이나 도로 등의 3차원 CG 모델을 자동 생성한다.

인터넷 건축행정정보시스템(e-AIS)과 도로명주소 관리시스템(KLIS-rn)의 연계 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Building Information Integration Method between e-AIS and KLIS-rn)

  • 최근 무선인터넷 환경과 휴대용 장비의 발달로 내비게이션 업체에서는 다양한 위치기반서비스를 위하여 보다 많은 공간정보가 요구되며, 이를 위하여 많은 비용을 투자하고 있다. 그러나 우리나라는 NGIS(National Geographic Information System)사업으로 풍부한 공간정보가 구축되어 있으며, 이 정보를 활용하여 필요한 공간정보를 구축함으로써 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 이에 인터넷 건축행정정보시스템과 도로명주소 관리시스템의 건물객체 정보를 연계하기 위한 구체적인 방법을 제안하였다. 이를 위하여, 두 시스템의 데이터베이스를 분석하여 매핑테이블을 설계하였으며, 주건물 수와 부속지번 유무를 판단하여 속성정보를 연계하고 CAD자료와 도로명주소 기본도의 건물 간의 객체 매칭을 통하여 매핑테이블을 생성하였다. 그러나 한정된 자료를 바탕으로 실험을 수행하여 본 연구에서 제안된 방법론의 평가가 부족하며, 향후 다양한 데이터에 적용해 봄으로써 제안된 방법을 평가해야 할 것이다.

Direct Geo-referencing for Laser Mapping System

  • Contrary to the traditional text-based information, 4S(GIS,GNSS,SIIS,ITS) information can contribute to the citizen's welfare in upcoming era. Recently, GSIS(Geo-Spatial Information System) has been applied and stressed out in various fields. As analyzed the data from GSIS arena, the position information of objects and targets is crucial and critical. Therefore, several methods of getting and knowing position are proposed and developed. From this perspective, Position collection and processing are the heart of 4S technology. We develop 4S-Van that enables real-time acquisition of position and attribute information and accurate image data in remote site. In this study, the configuration of 4S-Van equipped with GPS, INS, CCD and eye-safe laser scanner is shown and the merits of DGPS/INS integration approach for geo-referencing is briefly discussed. The algorithm of DGPS/INS integration fur determination of six parameters of motion is eccential in the 4S-Van to avoid or simplify the complicated computation such as photogrammetric triangulation. 4S-Van has the application of Laser-Mobile Mapping System for three-dimensional data acquisition that merges the texture information from CCD camera. The technique is also applied in the fields of virtual reality, car navigation, computer games, planning and management, city transportation, mobile communication, etc.

MULTI-SENSOR DATA FUSION FOR FUTURE TELEMATICS APPLICATION

  • In this paper, we present multi-sensor data fusion for telematics application. Successful telematics can be realized through the integration of navigation and spatial information. The well-determined acquisition of vehicle's position plays a vital role in application service. The development of GPS is used to provide the navigation data, but the performance is limited in areas where poor satellite visibility environment exists. Hence, multi-sensor fusion including IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), GPS(Global Positioning System), and DMI (Distance Measurement Indicator) is required to provide the vehicle's position to service provider and driver behind the wheel. The multi-sensor fusion is implemented via algorithm based on Kalman filtering technique. Navigation accuracy can be enhanced using this filtering approach. For the verification of fusion approach, land vehicle test was performed and the results were discussed. Results showed that the horizontal position errors were suppressed around 1 meter level accuracy under simulated non-GPS availability environment. Under normal GPS environment, the horizontal position errors were under 40㎝ in curve trajectory and 27㎝ in linear trajectory, which are definitely depending on vehicular dynamics.

문화재GIS 구축을 위한 문화유적분포지도 제작 연구 - 지자체 문화유적정보를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Distribution Map Designs for the Construction of Cultural Properties GIS - Focusing on Regional Cultural relics information -)

  • 본 연구는 문화재지리정보체계 구축사업의 근간이 되며, 문화유적지표조사 결과를 종합 정리한 지역별 분포지도와 GIS기반의 검색시스템을 연구 대상으로 한다. 현재 각 지역에서는 개발사업에 따른 지표조사가 부분적 산발적으로 이루어지고 있으며, 기존의 문화유적에 대한 관리문제 또한 크게 대두되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지역단위의 효율적인 문화유적관리체계 구축과 전국 데이터 통합을 위한 방안 도출을 목적으로 한다. 결과적으로 문화재청에서 제시한 기준에 근거하여 공간 및 속성자료를 구축함으로써 향후 국가차원의 문화재GIS 통합에 있어서 표준안에 부합할 수 있는 모형을 제시하였다. 또한 문화유적에 대한 훼손 가능성을 최소화하고, 지자체를 중심으로 제반 유적정보의 활용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

Automated texture mapping for 3D modeling of objects with complex shapes --- a case study of archaeological ruins

  • Recently, the ground-based laser profiler is used for acquisition of 3D spatial information of a rchaeological objects. However, it is very difficult to measure complicated objects, because of a relatively low-resolution. On the other hand, texture mapping can be a solution to complement the low resolution, and to generate 3D model with higher fidelity. But, a huge cost is required for the construction of textured 3D model, because huge labor is demanded, and the work depends on editor's experiences and skills . Moreover, the accuracy of data would be lost during the editing works. In this research, using the laser profiler and a non-calibrated digital camera, a method is proposed for the automatic generation of 3D model by integrating these data. At first, region segmentation is applied to laser range data to extract geometric features of an object in the laser range data. Various information such as normal vectors of planes, distances from a sensor and a sun-direction are used in this processing. Next, an image segmentation is also applied to the digital camera images, which include the same object. Then, geometrical relations are determined by corresponding the features extracted in the laser range data and digital camera’ images. By projecting digital camera image onto the surface data reconstructed from laser range image, the 3D texture model was generated automatically.
