We introduce a display for virtual-reality (VR) fire training. Firefighters prefer to wear and operate a real breathing apparatus while experiencing full visual immersion in a VR fire space. Thus, we used a thin head-mounted display (HMD) with a light field and folded optical system, aiming to both minimize the volume for integration in front of the face into a breathing apparatus and maintain adequate visibility, including a wide viewing angle and resolution similar to that of commercial displays. We developed the optical system testing modules and prototypes of the integrated breathing apparatus. Through iterative testing, the thickness of the output optical module in front of the eyes was reduced from 50 mm to 60 mm to less than 20 mm while maintaining a viewing angle of 103°. In addition, the resolution and image quality degradation of the light field in the display was mitigated. Hence, we obtained a display with a structure consistent with the needs of firefighters in the field. In future work, we will conduct user evaluation regarding fire scene reproducibility by combining immersive VR fire training and real firefighting equipment.

For the estimation of greenhouse gas dynamics in forests, it is useful to use a model which simulates both carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) cycle simultaneously. A forest C model, called FBDC, was developed and validated in Korea. However, studies on development of forest N model are insufficient. This study aimed to suggest a development process of a forest C and N model. We analyzed the general features, structures, ecological processes, input data, output data, and methods of integrating C and N cycles of the VISIT, Biome-BGC, Forest-DNDC, and O-CN. The structure and features of the FBDC were also analyzed. The VISIT was developed by integrating forest C model with a N cycle module, and the new model also could be designed by combining the FBDC with a N cycle module. The VISIT and Forest-DNDC could estimate soil $N_2O$ emissions, and the integrated model should include the processes shared by these models. Especially, the overseas models linked C and N cycles based on N absorption, C absorption, and decomposition of dead organic matter. Therefore, the integration of the FBDC with N cycle module should apply this linkage of structures between C and N cycles. Climate, soil texture, and species distribution data, which are essential for the model development, were available in Korea. However, parameter data associated with N cycle and validation data for soil $N_2O$ emissions need to be obtained by field studies.
The damages from the natural disasters, especially from the floods, have been increasing. Therefore, it is imperative to establish a BMP to diminish the damages from the floods and to enhance the welfare of the nation. Developed countries have been generating and utilizing flood risk maps to raise the alertness of the residents, and thereby achieving efficient flood management. The major objectives of this research were to develop a prototype management system for flood risk map to forecast the boundaries oi the inundation and to plot them through the integration of geographic and hydrologic database. For more efficient system development, the user requirement analysis was made. The GIS database design was done based on the results from the research work of river information standardization. A GIS database for the study area was built by using topographic information to support the hydrologic modeling. The developed prototype include several modules; river information edition module, map plotting module, and hydrologic modeling support module. Each module enabled the user to edit graphic and attribute data, to analyze and to represent the modeling results visually. Subjects such as utilization of the system and suggestions for future development were discussed.
This study is aimed at proposing a new type of ubiquitous decision support system (u-DSS) portal which is embedded with two important mechanisms like an intelligent ontology management module (i-OMM) and multi-agent coordination mechanism (MACM). The proposed portal provides timely decision support to the involved decision entities (represented as agents) by taking advantage of the two mechanisms embedded on the portal. The most important virtue of the proposed portal is that it can resolve two problems such as semantic discordance and data confliction which are occurring very often in an ubiquitous computing environment. Frequent requests of revising the already established decision information due to the rapid changes in decision entities' requirements require the extremely flexible and intelligent u-DSS vehicle like theproposed mechanism. In this sense, the i-OMM is designed to provide support to solving the semantic discordance in the way that the i-OMM virtually integrates ontology view (IOV) to integrate heterogeneous ontology among the agents engaged inubiquitous commerce situations. Then the i-OMM sends the IOV to the MACM to resolve the conflicts among the involved agents. The proposed u-DSS portal was applied to the u-fulfillment problem in which all the involved decisionagents need their own requirements to be satisfied seamlessly and timely. The experimental results show that the proposed u-DSS portal is very robust and promising in the field of u-DSS and context modeling.

Automation of production in modern manufacturing is based on the integration of the various stage of production process by means of processing system. Information processing and network interface are of fundamental importance in programmable device in industrial automation, as they essential in order to active integration in production lines. In this paper, TBC(token bus controller) in the Mini-MAP board performs the function of the MAC sublayer, The LLC sublayer is implemented according to the specification of Class 3 that includes Type 1 and 3. And the MMS services are designed within the scope of implementation MAP 3.0 All the softwares are implemented under the real time executive for real time application of the Mini-MAP and they are loaded into PROMs at the network board. We tested the LLC functions to make use of a protocol analyzer for the token bus protocol. Also the MMS conformance test was carried out by exchanging primitives between a model system(including NIU) and a MMS product that had already passed the conformance the conformance test based on measurement method of network analysis.
Nowadays object tracking process becoming one of the most challenging task in Computer Vision filed. A CSR-DCF (channel spatial reliability-discriminative correlation filter) tracking algorithm have been proposed on recent tracking benchmark that could achieve stat-of-the-art performance where channel spatial reliability concepts to DCF tracking and provide a novel learning algorithm for its efficient and seamless integration in the filter update and the tracking process with only two simple standard features, HoGs and Color names. However, there are some cases where this method cannot track properly, like overlapping, occlusions, motion blur, changing appearance, environmental variations and so on. To overcome that kind of complications a new modified version of CSR-DCF algorithm has been proposed by integrating deep learning based object detection and CSRT tracker which implemented in OpenCV library. As an object detection model, according to the comparable result of object detection methods and by reason of high efficiency and celerity of Faster RCNN (Region-based Convolutional Neural Network) has been used, and combined with CSRT tracker, which demonstrated outstanding real-time detection and tracking performance. The results indicate that the trained object detection model integration with tracking algorithm gives better outcomes rather than using tracking algorithm or filter itself.

This paper concerns about residential environment analysis program implementation for design and analysis on public housing complexes such that view and daylight analysis processes are automated and integrated into existing design routine to achieve better design efficiency. Considering the architectural design trends this paper chooses ArchiCAD as a platform for a CAD system, which contains the concepts such as integrated object-oriented CAD, virtual building and BIM. Residential environment analysis system consists of three components. The first component is the 3D modeling part defining 3D form information for external geographic contour models, site models and interior/exterior of apartment buildings. The second is the parametric library part handling the design parameters for view and daylight analysis. The last is the user interface for the input/output and integration of data for the environment analysis. Daylight analysis shows rendered images as well as results of daylight reports and grades per time and performs the calculations for floor shadow. It separates the site-only analysis from the analysis of site and exterior environmental parameters. View analysis considers horizontal and vertical view angles to produce view image from each unit and uses the bitmap analysis method to determine opening ratio, scenery ratio and void ratio. We could expect better performance and precision from this residential environment analysis system than the existing 2D drawing based view and daylight analysis methods and overcome the existing one-way flow of design information from 3D form to analysis reports so that site design modifications are automatically reflected on analysis results. Each part is developed in a module so that further integration and extension into other related estimation and construction management systems are made possible.
