This study aims to examine curvilinearly moderating effects of task interdependence on the relationship between demographic faultlines and group performance. It posits that the degree of task interdependence has an impact on the effects of demographic faultlines. It was conducted in six organizations in Korea, their industries including heavy industries, hospital, construction, petrochemical, fine chemicals, and system integration. The survey was distributed to 1330 individuals in 162 teams and 1082 individuals in 137 teams responded to the questionnaire. To test the hypotheses including nonlinear interactions, we conducted a hierarchical regression analysis to the survey data from 82 groups within six firms in Korea. The results show that for groups that experience a high level of task interdependence, the slope for the regression of demographic faultlines on group performance is comparatively low and, at the low level of task interdependence, insignificant. However, at intermediate levels of task interdependence, the association was strongly negative and significant. This study finds that the negative relationship between demographic faultlines and group performance is stronger when task interdependence is moderate than when task interdependence is high or low. Therefore, managers should pay attention to optimal group design by carefully assigning tasks in diverse and divided groups.

This study is to analyze literacy textbooks for adult learners developed by adult literacy education institutes. In the study, six different kinds of literacy textbooks are collected and analyzed on the basis of five evaluation criteria.: unit organization, presentation way of Hangeul, type of content, level of content, and degree of subject integration. The results of literacy textbook analysis are as follows. First, literacy textbooks carry different forms of unit organization in different textbooks. Most textbooks are composed of lessons, without a hierarchical organization of lessons, whereas some textbooks carry a hierarchical structure of 'unit + lessons'. Second, Hangeul is mostly presented in the form of reading and writing and literacy textbooks tend to present Hangeul as constructing letter through combining vowels and consonants rather than as whole language. Third, literacy textbooks contain life-adjustment situations which would help adult learners to lead everyday lives more efficiently. Fourth, literacy textbooks carry different levels of educational content, ranging from 'basic Hangeul' through 'expanded content' to high level of Hangeul writing. Fifth, literacy textbooks appear to integrate educational content from different subjects in order to provide more relevant content for adult learners.

Smart home System is shirt-sleeve, the automatic control systems, computer network system and network communication technology in the integration of network intelligent home control system. Intelligent household will let users have a more convenient means to management of domestic equipment, for example, through the house, wireless remote control, touch screen phone and Internet or speech recognition control household devices, more can perform scene operation, make more equipment form linkage. In this paper, we propose the intelligent household various kinds of equipment within each other can communication, do not need to user command according to different state interactive operation, thus to bring the greatest degree of user efficient and convenient, comfortable and safe.

The NSDI concept has changed with the development of the NSDI. While the NSDI was initially established as a separate entity, recently more attention has been given to the SDI hierarchy, from a local level to a global level. As an advanced NSDI, the USA, the UK and Canada emphasize more on better citizen services through an e-Government GIS portal such as the USA's Geospatial One-Stop. This study hypothesizes that the characteristics of NSDIs can be different from each nation in terms of vision, structure, evolution stages and a degree of integration with the e-Government. Rather than to describe differences just fur comparison, more characteristics of NSDIs are identified and the comparisons are developed as recommendations for the future NGIS(National Geographic Information System) in Korea.

In the present investigation, the nonlinear dynamic buckling of a curved plate subjected to sinusoidal loading is examined. By the theoretical analyses, a highly nonlinear snap-through motion of a clamped-free-clamped-free plate and its effect on the overall vibration response are investigated. The problem is reduced to that of a single degree of freedom system with the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure. The resulting nonlinear governing equation is solved using Runge-Kutta (RK-4) numerical integration method. The snap-through boundaries, which vary with different damping coefficient and linear circular frequency of the flat plate are studied and given in terms of force and displacement. The relationships between static and dynamic responses at the start of a snap-through motion are also predicted. The analysis brings out various characteristic features of the phenomenon, i.e. 1) small oscillation about the buckled position-softening spring type motion, 2) chaotic motion of intermittent snap-through, and 3) large oscillation of continuous snap-through motion crossing the two buckled positions-hardening spring type. The responses of buckled plate were found to be greatly affected by the snap-through motion. Therefore, better understanding of the snap-through motion is needed to predict the full dynamic response of a curved plate.

Social commerce, integration of social media and e-commerce, provides potential opportunities for consumers to talk about their ideas and exchange product-related information on online shopping platforms. Given the substantial prospects related to business opportunities and consumers' perceptions, this study explores the factors driving fulfillment of the psychological contract in social commerce platforms. This research proposes, examines, and proves a theoretical model for the post-purchase behavior of the consumers, through an empirical investigation of online questionnaire-based data, gathered from 367 consumers in a cross-sectional setting. Results show that the fulfillment of psychological contract, consumer loyalty, and affective commitment fully mediate the impact of consumer trust on platform and repurchase intention. The level of commitment toward the consumer by the platform is strongly related to the degree of consumer trust, which is reciprocated through re-purchase intentions. This study offers essential theoretical implications with regards to the social exchange theory, attribution theory, and an moderating effect of the platform empathy on consumers' trust-psychological contract fulfillment relationship. Likewise, this research has significant implications for practitioners and managers.

The observed ocean barotropic circulation is not completely explained by the classical wind-driven circulation theory. Although it is believed that the thermohaline forcing plays a role in the ocean barotropic circulation to some degree, how much the thermohaline forcing contributes to the barotropic circulation is not well known. The role of thermohaline circulation driven by changes in temperature and salinity in the Southern Ocean (SO) water masses on the Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) transport is investigated using a coupled ocean - atmosphere - sea ice - land surface climate system model in a Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) context. Withthe implementation of glacial boundary conditions in a coupled model, a substantial increase in the ACC transport by about 75% in 80 years of integration and 25% in the near LGM equilibrium is obtained despite of the decreases in the magnitude of wind stresses over the SO by 33% in the transient time and 20% in the near-equilibrium. This result suggests that the increase in the barotropic ACC transport is due to factors other than the wind forcing. The change in ocean thermohaline circulation in the SO seems to play a significant role in enhancing the ACC transport in association with the change in the bottom pressure torque.

An implicit direct-time integration method for obtaining transient responses of general dynamic systems is described. The conventional Newmark method cannot be directly applied to state-space first-order differential equations, which contain no explicit acceleration terms. The method proposed here is the state-space Newmark method that incorporates the average velocity concept, and can be applied to an analysis of general dynamic systems that are expressed by state-space first-order differential equations. It is also readily coded into a program. Stability and accuracy analyses indicate that the method is numerically unconditionally stable like the conventional Newmark method, and has a period error of 2nd-order accuracy for small damping and 4th-order for large damping and an amplitude error of 2nd-order, regardless of damping. In addition, its utility and validity are confirmed by two application examples. The results suggest that the proposed state-space Newmark method based on average velocity be generally applied to the analysis of transient responses of general dynamic systems with a high degree of reliability with respect to stability and accuracy.

The paper describes the application areas of the hypertext and the relevance of hypertext principles to the information retrieval system. As to the techniques of the hypertext information retrieval the various navigation method including a guided tour, a history list, a browser, a book-mark, etc. are discussed. The query system is considered as the other technique to be integrated into the hypertext system for the enhancement of the interactive function of the information retrieval. Based on the theoretical background, a conceptual model of hypertext information retrieval system was constructed using GUIDE which was developed by P.J. Brown of Kent University. 16 bibliographic records from LISA of 1991(June) were used for the illustration of the basic operation of the system. Though the study could not reach the implementation level due to the absolute constraints of the time and experimental environments, further efforts will continue to develop a prototype system of a hypertext information retrieval. A few conclusions can be derived from the study : (1) The integration of the hypertext into the information retrieval system can be justified by permitting the end-users to have much stronger and more flexible interaction with the system. (2) The more the degree of the sofistication of the existing information retrieval system is the more the possibility of the development of an effective and user-oriented information retrieval system will be greater by integrating guide as a front end system to the underlying software. (3) The deep knowledge about the functions of information retrieval which can be enhanced by the hypertext could be acquired by the information retrieval specialists.

The tilde use of Information Technology (IT), especially the rapid diffusion of the internet, brings us a new paradigm, called "Electronic Commerce," or "Digital Economy." The paradigm is regarded as a business strategy essential to organizations′competitive advantages. Because few studies have been shown in the area of e-strategies, especially in the combined strategies of clicks and mortars, a study of this area is required. The main questions of this study are empirically to validate the usefulness and applicability of a decision roadmap and to analyze the situation of Korean firms in the view of the decision roadmap. Major results of this study are as follows : First, there is an evidence that the roadmap can be applied to Korean firms regardless of their industry and size. Second, the usefulness of the roadmap is proved because companies following the directions of the roadmap show high degree of satisfaction with online sales. Third, Korean companies in general do not achieve an Ideal Integration (or separation), especially In terms of management and operation. In conclusion, this study provides an e-business strategy Planner some guidelines about how to achieve right mix of on-line and off-line business.
