Track-bridge interaction has become an essential part in the design of bridges and rails in terms of modern railways. As a unique ballastless slab track, the longitudinal continuous slab track (LCST) or referred to as the China railway track system Type-II (CRTS II) slab track, demonstrates a complex force mechanism. Therefore, a comprehensive track-bridge interaction study between multi-span simply supported beam bridges and the LCST is presented in this work. In specific, we have developed an integrated finite element model to investigate the overall interaction effects of the LCST-bridge system subjected to the actions of temperature changes, traffic loads, and braking forces. In that place, the deformation patterns of the track and bridge, and the distributions of longitudinal forces and the interfacial shear stress are studied. Our results show that the additional rail stress has been reduced under various loads and the rail's deformation has become much smoother after the transition of the two continuous structural layers of the LCST. However, the influence of the temperature difference of bridges is significant and cannot be ignored as this action can bend the bridge like the traffic load. The uniform temperature change causes the tensile stress of the concrete track structure and further induce cracks in them. Additionally, the influences of the friction coefficient of the sliding layer and the interfacial bond characteristics on the LCST's performance are discussed. The systematic study presented in this work may have some potential impacts on the understanding of the overall mechanical behavior of the LCST-bridge system.

This paper presents the development of seismic fragility curves for a precast reinforced concrete bridge instrumented with a structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The bridge is located near an active seismic fault in the Dominican Republic (DR) and provides the only access to several local communities in the aftermath of a potential damaging earthquake; moreover, the sample bridge was designed with outdated building codes and uses structural detailing not adequate for structures in seismic regions. The bridge was instrumented with an SHM system to extract information about its state of structural integrity and estimate its seismic performance. The data obtained from the SHM system is integrated with structural models to develop a set of fragility curves to be used as a quantitative measure of the expected damage; the fragility curves provide an estimate of the probability that the structure will exceed different damage limit states as a function of an earthquake intensity measure. To obtain the fragility curves a digital twin of the bridge is developed combining a computational finite element model and the information extracted from the SHM system. The digital twin is used as a response prediction tool that minimizes modeling uncertainty, significantly improving the predicting capability of the model and the accuracy of the fragility curves. The digital twin was used to perform a nonlinear incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) with selected ground motions that are consistent with the seismic fault and site characteristics. The fragility curves show that for the maximum expected acceleration (with a 2% probability of exceedance in 50 years) the structure has a 62% probability of undergoing extensive damage. This is the first study presenting fragility curves for civil infrastructure in the DR and the proposed methodology can be extended to other structures to support disaster mitigation and post-disaster decision-making strategies.
In spite of the increasing construction of segmental PSC box girder bridges, the techniques associated with real-time monitoring, construction control and safety assessment during construction have been less developed compared with the construction techniques. Thus, the development of an integrated system including real-time measurement and monitoring, control and safety assessment system during construction is necessary fur more safe and precise construction of the bridges. This study presents a prototype integrated monitoring system for preventing abnormal behavior and accidents under construction stages, that consist of behavior control system for precise construction, reliability-based safety assessment system, and structural analysis. Also, a prototype software system is developed on the basis of the proposed model. It is successfully applied to the Sea-Hae Grand Bridge built by FCM. The integrated system model and software system can be utilized for the safe and precise construction of segmental PSC bridges during construction.
This paper deals with an intelligent digital ship which aims at development to support economic and safe services through an integration into the hierarchically layered digital signals such as ship's navigation, maneuvering and control signal and establishing a one-man bridge system in order to provide a support systems between ship and land station. This paper introduces the results of the mid-term project sponsored from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy which consists of three sub-project such as INS(Intelligent Navigation System), AIS(Automatic Identification System), and IMIT (Integrated Maritime Information Technology). The INS system that can allow ships to navigate economically and safely through the integration and analysis of national data within the ship. AIS is a system that reports automatically on the location of the ship in order to prevent the collision between ships and between the ship and the land. IMIT is a integrated system for providing an efficient and economic support system between ships and the land and a ship-land platform and technologies.
Steel cables serve as the key structural components in long-span bridges, and the force state of the steel cable is deemed to be one of the most important determinant factors representing the safety condition of bridge structures. The disadvantages of traditional cable force measurement methods have been envisaged and development of an effective alternative is still desired. In the last decade, the vision-based sensing technology has been rapidly developed and broadly applied in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM). With the aid of vision-based multi-point structural displacement measurement method, monitoring of the tensile force of the steel cable can be realized. In this paper, a novel cable force monitoring system integrated with a multi-point pattern matching algorithm is developed. The feasibility and accuracy of the developed vision-based force monitoring system has been validated by conducting the uniaxial tensile tests of steel bars, steel wire ropes, and parallel strand cables on a universal testing machine (UTM) as well as a series of moving loading experiments on a scale arch bridge model. The comparative study of the experimental outcomes indicates that the results obtained by the vision-based system are consistent with those measured by the traditional method for cable force measurement.
This paper describes a single pulse-width modulation control strategy using the Single Pulse-Width Modulation (SPWM) method with a soft-switching technique for a wide range of output voltages from a bidirectional Dual-Active Bridge (DAB) converter. This method selects two typical inductor current waveforms for soft-switching, and proposes a rule that makes it possible to achieve soft-switching without any compensation algorithm from the waveforms. In addition, both the step-up and step-down conditions are analyzed. This paper verifies that the leakage inductance is independent from the rule, which makes it easier to apply in DAB converters. An integrated algorithm, which includes step-up and step-down techniques, is proposed. The results of experiments conducted on a 50-kW prototype are presented. The system efficiency is experimentally verified to be from 85.6% to 97.5% over the entire range.

Development and application of structural health monitoring system in Korea have become active since the early 1990's. In earlier applications, health monitoring systems were installed in several existing bridges in order to collect initial field data by full scale load capacity test for design verification and subsequently monitor long-term performance and durability of the bridge as part of an inspection and maintenance program. Recently, modem and integrated monitoring systems have been introduced in most of the newly constructed long-span bridges since the design stage. This paper outlines the progresses and applications of monitoring systems in Korea for both existing and newly constructed bridges and describes their aims and characteristics.
VPM의 FPGA IP core는 ARINC 818 to DVI 또는 DVI to ARINC 818 처리와 video decoder, overlay 기능을 가진다. 본 논문에서는 VPM 하드웨어 구현에 대해 다루고, VPM 기능과 IP core 성능 검증 결과를 보인다.
