An integrated structural design system can define and process complex design information that occurs in each of the design stages for flexible cooperation. It can also reduce human error on sequential design steps: preliminary design, analysis and detailed design. Therefore, it's very important to have consistent semantic expression and procedure for structural design information that has complex relationships. In this study, we introduce the object-oriented concepts and object-oriented database thechnique that provides high level semantic expression in order to develop an integrated structural design system.

This paper presents the log likelihood function for integrated models for ALT such as exponential-general Eyring, Weibull-temperature and specific heat, lognormal-temperature and specific heat. Additionally this paper estimates the system reliability and mean time to failure(MTTF) for series, parallel, k of n, and standby system using ALT linkage parameter. Lastly this study designs three variable reliability acceptance sampling(RAS) plans such as type I, II censored test, sequential test by the use of integrated models for ALT.

In this study, using a periodical ground structure(PGS) on GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit(MMIC), transmission line with a high isolation characteristic was developed for application to compact signal/bias lines of highly integrated MMIC. And the origin of the high isolation characteristic was theoretically investigated. The high isolation characteristic was originated from a resonance between adjacent microstrip lines employing PGS. With only a spacing of $20{\mu}m$, the coupled microstrip line employing PGS showed an isolation value of -47 dB at 60 GHz. The frequency range for high isolation was easily controlled by changing the PGS structure. Above results indicate that microstrip lines employing PGS are very useful for application to compact signal/bias lines of highly integrated MMIC requiring a high isolation characteristics between lines. In addition, equivalent circuit employing closed-form equation for the coupled line with PGS was also extracted.

This paper presents a new software development environment that supports an integrated methodology for covering all phases of software development and gives integrated methods with tools for ITUT (Telecommunication Standardization Section of the International Telecommunication Union) languages. The design of the environment to improve software productivity and quality is based on five main concepts: 1) formal specifications based on SDL (Specification and Description Language) and MSC (Message Sequence Charts) in the design phase, 2) verification and validation of those designs by tools, 3) automatic code generation and a safe separate compilation scheme based on CHILL (CCITT High-Level Language) to facilitate programming-in-the-many and programming-in-the-large. 4) debugging of distributed real-time concurrent CHILL programs, and 5) simulation of application software for integrated testing on the host machine based on CHILL. The application results of the environment compared with other approaches show that the productivity is increased by 19 % because of decreasing implementation and testing cost, and the quality is increased by 83 % because of the formal specifications with its static and dynamic checking facilities.

This paper presents a study of an integrated infrared (IR) photo sensor for display application. We fabricated hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin film transistor (a-Si:H TFT) and hydrogenated amorphous silicon germanium thin film transistor (a-SiGe:H TFT) which were bottom gate structure. We investigated the dependence of a-SiGe:H TFT characteristics on incident wavelengths. We proposed photo sensor which responded to wavelengths of IR region. Proposed pixel circuit of photo sensor was consists of switch TFT and photo TFT, and one capacitor. We developed integrated photo sensor circuit and investigated the performance of the proposed sensor circuit according to the input wavelengths. The developed photo sensor circuit with a-SiGe:H TFT was suitable for IR.

Researcher tried to argue the possibility of application of visual communication design adapting the marketing environment change on this paper. What is ICD (Integrated Communication Design)? This is a new attempt to treat these common marketing methods, such as, C, I, B, I, TV commercials, newspaper commercials, posters, brochures, DM, package designing, POP, outdoor visual information, web sites etc, as a whole. And no longer treat them as separate pieces as we were doing previously. So I started this research with positive analysis which already has been theoretically discussed based on the documents and researches on the same subject. Through this attempt I tried to examine the possibility of application of ICD. Conclusively, I developed and suggest named the ICD model, by which we could explain the current marketing communication design effort more holistically then ever.

This study investigated via computational analysis the application utility of series-cascaded ring resonators based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) slot optical waveguides in integrated optical biochemical sensors. The radii of the two rings in the series-cascaded ring resonators were 59.4 ㎛ and 77.6 ㎛ respectively, and the coupling distance was 0.5 ㎛. The series-cascaded ring resonators were computationally analyzed using FIMMProp and PICWave numerical software. The free spectral range (FSR), full width at half maximum (FWHM), sensitivity, and quality-factor (Q-factor) of the series-cascaded ring resonators were 12.2 nm, 0.134 nm, 4100 nm/RIU, and 11580, respectively, and the measurement range was calculated to be slightly smaller than 3×10^-3 RIU. Although the measurement range was smaller than that of the single ring resonator, upon considering other characteristic parameters, the series-cascaded ring resonators are found to be more effective as integrated sensors than single ring resonators.

This study suggests an effective online guide for foreign teachers who want to teach English in Korean schools. When designing this guide for overseas applicants, there should be a consistent analysis to reflect the process of the system. Thus, this paper provides an analysis and results for an integrated online guide to increase the efficiency based on the pedagogical framework for analysis of the 'ADDIE' model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The number of job applicants who wish to teach English in Korea is growing rapidly because Korea is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the 'Korean Wave' has especially been experiencing significant changes with the development of social network services and digital technologies. As a result, overseas applicants' expectations regarding Korea when they are seeking information and applying is very high, but the aspects of the procedure provided by the government are somewhat disappointing. The paper presents customer needs and specific recommendation for each step of the application process to improve the guide's effectiveness.

Several researches are focused on improving the value of fine chemicals based on biomass resources due to environmental and other concerns associated with the use of petroleum-based products. Therefore, the synthesis and application of estolides derived from plant-based waste oil materials and their application as lubricants and as processing oil for butyl rubber products have been studied. Four kinds of estolide were prepared with conversions of 71~92% over 24h using various vegetable oils, as determined by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. FT-IR spectroscopy determines the esterification of estolides using 2-ethylhexyl alcohol. The estolides have iodine values of 35~90, α-ester/α-acid ratios of 0.45~0.55, and total acid number of 114~134 mg KOH g^–1. Four ball wear tests show that the wear scar diameters (WSDs) of estolides as base oil significantly decreased to 0.328~0.494 mm, compared to WSDs of 0.735 and 0.810 mm of WSD for 150N and Yubase 6, respectively, as general base oil. Thus, the estolides have better wear resistance and satisfying design objectives for the engineering of a variety of lubricant base oils.
