An integrated inductor using the low temperature cofiring ceramics(LTCC) technology was fabricated. The inductor has Ag circular spiral coil with 16 turns (2-turn x 8-layer) and has a dimension of 11.52mm diameter and 0.71mm thick. For the fabricated inductor, calculation method of inductance was given and it is confirmed that the calculated value is very close to the measured one. Finally as an application of the LTCC integrated inductor to low power electronic circuits, a LTCC buck DC/DC converter with 1.32W output power and 1MHz switching frequency using the inductor fabricated was developed. For the converter the maximum efficiency of about 81% was obtained.

In this work, a new microstrip-to-substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) transition using the parallel half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) is proposed. The proposed transition consists of three sections : a microstrip, parallel HMSIWs, and an SIW. By inserting the parallel HMSIWs section between the microstrip section and the SIW section, the proposed transition can improve the return loss characteristics of the near cut-off frequency because the HMSIWs section has a lower cut-off frequency than the SIW section (8.6 GHz). The lower cut-off frequency is achieved through gradual electromagnetic field mode changes for a low reflection. The measured return loss is less than 20 dB in the of 9.1~16.28 GHz freqeuncy range for the back-to-back transition. The measured insertion loss is within 1.6 dB for the back-to-back transition. The proposed transition is expected to play an important role in wideband SIW circuits fed by a microstrip.

Recently Korea Army developed the TICN which is the next army tactical communication system. The TICN will support ability from under environment, strategy maneuver communication system of integrated army dimension overcome and NCW. If the IER(Information Exchange Requirement) phases 3 of the future application system, the analysis that a transmission ability of the TICN is the uncapable is govern. The TICN tactical backbone's ability is very important. Therefore, network efficiency index in application and analysis of the standard protocol for the data transmission guarantee are obliged. For the TICN tactical backbone, this paper analyzes of routing protocol efficiency index and compares to superiority of the OSPF(v2) and integrated IS-IS protocols in the tactical environment. Conclusively we proposed that integrated IS-IS protocol is more suitable for TICN backbone routing protocol.

This study is to develop the technology and the ways of the practical use of the integrated digital map of and Electronical Navigational Chart(ENC) and Digital Terrain Map(DTM) for the effective and scientific based conservation, development and management. In this study, as preliminary studies to make eventual integrated maps, the concept of coastal areas are defined and the characteristics of digital maps developed by Korean Geography Institute and National Marine Investigation Institute are carefully analyzed. A test coastal map was developed based on the integrated digital map, a high resolution satellite image and Global Positioning System. Results from the edge matching analysis of coastal lines shows 8 meters difference in maximum. The problems, causes and solutions for the edge matched differences are described. Furthermore, the practical value of utilization, future use and various field of application are described based on the integrated digital map data base of coastal area.

This paper will describe integrated system design process and its application. Integrated design process is performed activities concurrently and sequentially for product development. For a group of activities to be truly integrated, the flow of deliverables among them must be well defined, and committed to. For this purpose, the study will suggest procedure that is executed context analysis of standard process, interface definition from activity decomposition, integration of related activities, and definition of concurrency & sequential activities flow, This procedure and method will contribute to minimize time loss that is emerged from activities iteration by not definitely definition of activities interface.

The paper presents technical issues which integrated sensors must address to be implemented in the next generation of power electronics and motor drives. The underlying goal of the sensor integration will be to improve reliability of power conversion systems while making the power converter and motor drive become the primary source of diagnostic signals for the application. The paper focuses on design methodologies that will allow this integration to succeed in meeting the technical demands for both reliability and for application level diagnostics.

In this paper, the on-going effort and progress for developing an integrated software for automated CFD application is described. As an outcome of the effort devoted so far, a new system, ICFDIT, is developed and introduced in this paper. The new system can be used to solve fluid dynamics problems in a convenient graphical environment, and it includes a pre-processor, a main-processor, and a post-processor. Usage of the system and examples are demonstrated, and some issues for improvement of the system are discussed.

As the development of the new integrated KORMARC format is completed and the problems of KORMARC aroused by different formats by different material types are settled, librarians' interests have increased in adopting the new integrated format. This article attempts to demonstrate the necessity of adopting the new format and suggests some considering points in its application process. To effectively adopt the new format, firstly the scope of new format application should be decided, and then data conversion and related program development should be followed. It is hoped that this article will raise the understanding of the integrated KORMARC format and give some guidelines to libraries considering its adoption and library system vendors.
