In order to improve the high temperature oxidation resistance and lifespan of mat type porous carbon insulation, SiC was coated on carbon insulation by solution coating using polycarbosilane solution, curing in an oxidizing atmosphere at $200^{\circ}C$, and pyrolysis at temperatures up to $1200^{\circ}C$. The SiOC phase formed during the pyrolysis process was converted into SiC crystals as the heat treatment temperature increased, and a SiC coating with a thickness of 10-15 nm was formed at $1600^{\circ}C$. The SiC coated specimen showed a weight reduction of 8.6 % when it was kept in an atmospheric environment of $700^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. On the other hand, the thermal conductivity was 0.17 W/mK, and no difference between states before and after coating was observed at all.

The effect of microsilica content modified with silicone-modified epoxy on electrical and mechanical properties of cycloaliphatic epoxy/microsilica system was investigated. The cycloaliphatic epoxy resin was diglycidyl 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylate and curing agent was an anhydride. Surface of microsilica was modified with silicone-modified epoxy. Electrical breakdown strength, the most important property for electrical insulation materials was tested. Tensile and flexural tests were also performed using universal testing machine (UTM). The microcomposite with 60 wt% microsilica shows maximum values in electrical breakdown strength.
The purpose of this study is to improve overall performance of prefoamed lightweight cellular concrete for On-Dol system floor. This study includes 4 sections as follows. \circled1 Analysis of the structural characteristics of On-Dol System focusing on the lightweight cellular concrete insulation layer. \circled2 Establishment of the mixing design equations. \circled3 Development of some admixtures used with foaming agent. \circled4 Improvement of the equipment for onsite production. This study has proven that, compared with the current existing one, the newly developed lightweight cellular concrete has been reduced the usage of cement by 20% and the cracks caused by cement drying shrinkage up to 80% but has shown the increased compression strength by 20% at 7 days curing period. The volume contraction of freshly prepared cellular concrete by the loss of foam was hardly found in newly developed lightweight cellular concrete.
The knowledge of the flash point of the various liquid substances is required because of process safety and control in industrial fire protection. The epoxy resin is one of versatile resins that has wide selection of using curing agents and additives to achieve various applications such as coatings, adhesives, interior materials, reinforced plastics and electrical insulation. In this study, the lower flash points for p-xylene+epoxy resin, o-xylene+epoxy resin and n-butanol+epoxy resin systems were measured by using Pensky-Martens closed cup tester. The lower flash points for p-xylene+epoxy resin, o-xylene+epoxy resin and n-butanol+epoxy resin systems rapidly increased 80wt%, 90wt% and 95wt% of epoxy resin concentration, respectively. This results serve as a guide to estimate flash point of any epoxy resin solution.
This paper examines the efficiency of the application of conventional and insulated gang forms for curing and protection of concrete by comparing the amount of electric energy required therefor. In addition, a thermal vision camera was used to identify heat loss from surfaces of the gang forms after each placement of concrete. Experimental results, show that the heat loss at the submerged temperature was large at the submerged surface due to the large calorific value at the surface of the mold. The insulated gang form had some heat loss in the horizontal bars. In the case of adiabatic reforming, the pattern shows a constant calorific value over time. In conclusion, the insulation performance is better than that of general gang form.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of tile adhesion failure due to weak adhesion with concrete admixture (FA, SP) on walls. The test specimens were divided into four types : (1) OPC 100% (2) OPC 80%+FA 20% (3) OPC 80%+SP 20% (4) OPC 60%+SP 40%, each adhered on a 650 × 650mm wall with 200mm thickness capable of attaching two insulation tiles (300 × 600mm). The tests were carried out on the four types of walls by mortar bedding application method, and after 4 weeks of curing period, adhesion strength test was carried out. The adhesion strength difference was investigated between the concrete wall with added admixture (FA, SP) and general concrete wall.
This study is to investigate the temperature history over time of the cement mortar to confirm the bubble sheet insulation effect using the heat generat sheet. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the heating effect was 6℃ higher on average than other types of sheets when the heating sheet is attached on the bottom of the double layered bubble sheet. For future research, it is planned to verify the heating performance by using the heating sheet under the same environmental conditions as the heating performance will be verified.
In this study, the hydration heat differential method was applied to mass concrete structures, and the hydration heat analysis was compared and analyzed with on-site measurement results. The results showed that the temperature history measurements of mass concrete were managed at a difference of 8.4 ℃, and although there was some deviation in thermal stress, a similar trend was observed. Consequently, it was determined that the thermal stress on the surface of mass concrete is less than its tensile strength, which would prevent the occurrence of thermal cracks.
