A Modified Methylation Method to Determine Fatty Acid Content by Gas Chromatography

  • An improved rapid method for determination of the fatty acid composition using modified methylation procedure was compared with the AOAC reference procedure based on the methylation of fatty acid with the addition of BF3 catalyst before and while heating. The new method is useful for research and routine quality control and has a number of advantages over the reference procedure which are more rapid, simple and also reliable. Applicability of the modified methylation method was confirmed with three vegetable oil samples (palm oil, coconut oil and olive oil). Based on the validation method results, we obtained that a quite linear calibration curve of fatty acids was performed with $R^2$ in range of 0.9972-0.9994. The sensitivity of gas chromatography instrument was able to analyze the fatty acids up to a few ppm, the precision and accuracy were good enough with the %RSD between 1.5%-19.5% and the recovery of linolenic acid was 99.1% in the range of 80.0%-113.3%.

Development and Validation of an Instrument to Measure High School Students' Disaster Safety Awareness

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the disaster safety awareness scale for high school students. For this purpose, the previously developed disaster safety awareness scale and related prior research was analyzed. Questionnaire data was collected from March 22 to May 25, 2021 from 1054 students (male: 569, female: 485) in the first, second, and third grades of 5 high schools in 3 cities. Through the process of revising, supplementing, and reviewing the items extracted through preliminary research and preliminary test together with experts and students, a final disaster safety awareness scale consisting of 24 items was developed. This scale consists of four sub-factors: 'disaster prevention', 'disaster response A', 'disaster response B', and 'disaster recovery'. Good reliability and validity were secured through exploratory and confirmatory analyses. The significance of this study is that it laid a basic and objective foundation for high school students' disaster safety awareness research by developing a validated scale in a situation where the development of disaster safety awareness scales for high school students was still insufficient. It can be used as useful data for fire safety education as well as a psychological measurement tool for fostering fire safety awareness.

생체전기임피던스법을 이용한 체성분 분석에 의한 신체외형도(Somatotype Drawing)의 타당성 연구 - 비만평가도구로서의 타당도 평가 - (A Study on the Validation of Somatotype Drawing as a Instrument of Measuring Obesity Level by Body Component Analysis)

  • Purpose: Somatotype drawing developed by Sorensen et al.(1983) has been evaluated as a simple instrument of obesity level without real somatic measuring as height and weight. This study was designed to validate somatotype drawings for obesity assessment by bioelectrical impedance body component analysis. Method: At first questionnaire of somatotype drawing was done. Subjects were measured body component by bioelectrical impedance analysis as weight, BMI(body mass index), WHR(waist-hip ratio), body water, protein mass, mineral mass, body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, soft lean mass, fat free mass and percent body fat. We evaluated correlations between these data and somatotype drawings and tried to grouping of somatotype drawings with the means of major body component value. Result: The data were collected from 205 college women whose height and weight were $161.2\pm4.8,\;55\pm8.3$. Spearman's correlation coefficients of somatotype drawing were 0.74 with BMI, 0.68 with weight 0.69 with body fat mass, 0.65 with WHR. 0.64 with percent body fat after adiusted age. The grade of somatotype drawings were grouped as 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. 7-9 by BMI, body fat mass, weight, 1, 2-4, 5-6, 7-9 by WHR and 1-2, 3-4, 5-9 by percent body fat(ANOVA and Duncan's method). Conclusion: So quick instrument using somatotype drawings were useful tools for evaluation of obesity level and is applicable to screen degree of body fat in self-administered questionnaire survey.

유방암과 자궁경부암 수검자용 한국판 건강정보이해력 측정도구의 타당도와 신뢰도 검증 (Validity and Reliability of the Korean Version of Assessment of Health Literacy in Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening)

  • Purpose: Health literacy is a significant determinant of health and health behaviors such as cancer screening. Despite its significance, there are limited instruments available to assess health literacy targeting Koreans. The purpose of this study was to test the psychometric properties of Korean translation of a validated health literacy instrument in cancer screening-Korean version of assessment of health literacy in breast and cervical cancer screening (K-AHL-C). Methods: A total of 555 women aged 20~65 participated in the online survey study. Of 52 items addressing five domains included in the original version, we focused on 36 items addressing three key domains closely associated with cancer screening: familiarity, health navigation, and comprehension. Results: During content validation, two items from the health navigation domain were removed, yielding 34 items. Using Rasch analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, we found the evidence of construct validity of K-AHL-C. The Korean version was also significantly correlated with measures of Functional Health Literacy scale, cancer prevention behaviors, and subjective health status, suggesting convergent validities respectively. Finally, K-AHL-C had acceptable reliability coefficients (α) ranging from 0.71 to 0.92 for each domain and the total scale. Conclusion: These psychometric properties support the K-AHL-C is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring Koreans' health literacy in cancer screening. Also it is expected to use the instrument to detect breast and cervical cancer early and improve the screening rate, and ultimately to contribute to the promotion of women's health and women's health nursing practice.

고등학생용 수학불안 요인 측정 도구 개발 및 타당도 검증 (Development of a Tool to Measure Math Anxiety Factors for High School Students and Validation of Validity)

  • 한국 고등학교 학생들에게 적합한 수학불안 요인 측정도구를 개발하기 위하여 요인 탐색, 문항 개발, 타당도 및 신뢰도 검증의 단계로 연구를 실시하였다. 이를 위하여 문헌분석을 통해 기 개발되어 사용되어온 문항을 수정 보완하고, 학생들을 대상으로 한 개방형 조사를 통해 사교육 및 수학 교수 방법에 대한 시대적 배경을 반영한 신규 문항을 추가하였다. 개발된 측정문항에 대한 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 타당도를 검증하였으며, 연구 결과, 수학교과의 특성에 기인하는 불안 요인이 구체화되었고, 모둠학습이나 발표수업 등과 같은 교수학습 방법 등이 반영되었다.

수학학습 정의적 영역 검사 도구 개발 연구 (The Development and Validation of the Survey of Students' Affective Characteristics in the Non-Cognitive Domain of Mathematics Learning)

  • 수학에 대한 긍정적인 태도나 수학적 성향과 같은 정의적 특성의 개선은 학교 수학교육의 중요한 목표 중 하나로서 인식되고 있다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 정의적 영역의 개선을 위한 기초 연구를 수행하기 위하여 정의적 영역을 측정하는 검사 도구를 개발하였다. 개발 과정은 선행연구를 통해 정의적 영역의 요인을 선정하고, 초 중 고 학생들을 대상으로 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 실시하여 각 요인에 해당되는 문항들을 추출하였다. 이후 예비검사와 본검사를 통해 검사 문항들의 신뢰도와 요인분석 결과에 따라 최종문항을 선정하였다. 개발된 정의적 영역 검사 문항은 흥미, 학습태도, 가치, 외적동기, 내적동기, 학습의지, 효능감 요인의, 총 24문항으로 이루어져있다. 이는 향후 초 중 고 학생들의 정의적 영역 측정을 위한 검사도구로 활용할 수 있으며, 이를 토대로 수학교과의 정의적 영역 성취를 위한 교육 목표나 방향을 설정하는데 있어서의 지표가 될 수 있을 것이다.

STEAM 교육의 실행 강화를 위한 학교 STEAM 역량 진단 도구 개발 (Development of STEAM Diagnostic Evaluation Tool to Strengthen the Implementation of STEAM Education)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 학교 STEAM 교육의 실행과 교육환경 기반을 진단하고 평가할 수 있는 학교 STEAM 교육 역량 진단 도구를 개발하는 것이다. 진단 도구의 개발은 STEAM 교육의 평가 또는 성과와 관련된 문헌 조사, 연구진의 반성적 재검토, 전문가 및 현장교사의 타당도 검증 등으로 이루어졌다. 학교 STEAM 교육 역량 진단 도구는 'STEAM 교육의 실천과 지속가능성의 계획', 'STEAM 교육과정 및 교수학습 방법', 'STEAM 학습 전문성 개발', '과정 중심 평가', '고등 교육 기관, 산업 파트너, 기술 센터와 연계 구축' 등 5개 영역과 하위영역의 총 14문항으로 구성된다. 학교 STEAM 역량 진단 도구의 타당화는 전문가의 내용 타당도 검증과 예비조사(pilot study)의 학교 교사의 실제에 의한 타당도를 통해 진행하였다. 개발된 학교 STEAM 역량 진단 도구를 활용하여 초등, 중, 고등학교 267개교를 진단한 결과, 5개 영역 평균이 1.46 ~ 2.18의 수준으로 나타났다. 이 진단 도구는 학교의 STEAM 교육의 실행 및 효과를 포괄적으로 진단·평가하고, 우리나라 STEAM 교육의 실행을 진단하고 이해하는데 기초 자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

일반화부분점수 모형에 의한 디자인역량 검사 특성 분석 (An Item Characteristic Analysis of Competency Inventory for Designer via Generalized Partial Credit Mode)

  • This study was performed to analyze the item characteristics of competency inventory for designer (CID), which Gil (2011) developed for measurement of design competency. To accomplish the purpose of this study, general partial credit (GPC) model based on polytomous item response theory was applied. The findings were as follows: First, CID is a reliable instrument for measuring design competency. Second, most items of CID have low item discrimination and average item difficulty according to the GPC model. Especially, there are some problems to have low item discrimination in view of validation. To improve the goodness of CID, we will need to examine why CID has low item discrimination.

  • 이 논문에서는 지구관측용 가시광선 및 적외선 위성센서의 검보정 방법들을 소개하였다. 먼저 지구관측용으로 쓰이는 위성용 센서들에 대해 간단히 살펴보고, 이들의 검보정 방법들을 정리하였다. 위성센서 중 특히 가시광선 및 적외선 광학센서의 보정장치들을 예로 들어 이들 장치의 원리에 대해서 간략하게 설명함으로써 센서레벨에서 이루어지는 1차적인 보정원리에 중점을 두었다.

유아교사의 통일교육역량에 대한 평가척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 (Development and Validation of a Scale for the Measurement of Early Childhood Teacher's Competence in Unification Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and test the validity of an assessment scale for determining the competency of early childhood teachers practicing unification education. For this purpose, an evaluation scale was constructed and then tested for reliability and validity. Participants for this study included 266 early childhood teachers in the unification education field. In order to the measure reliability and validity of this scale, Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were conducted with SPSS 18.0 and AMOS. The result of this study identified four principal factors: 1) Instruction skills, 2) Evaluation, 3) Attitude, and 4) Knowledge. The results of this study supported the scale's reliability and legitimacy as a valid instrument for the evaluation of early childhood teacher's competence in unification education.
