The Development and Application of Information Communication Technology Application Instruction Model based on PBL-based Instruction Model (프로젝트 학습을 기반으로 하는 ICT 활용 수업 모형의 개발 및 적용)

  • Advances in information communication technology (ICT) require new paradigms in every aspect of our society. In this sense, schools are supposed to educate students to solve real-world problems with ICT. However, schools have not provided quality education to students for learning ICT and applying it. It is thus necessary to develop various ICT instruction models for creative students to lead the information society. One of the popular instruction models using the Web is the project-based model. The model includes inquiry activities of areas, such as variety of subjects, real-world problems, issues, and presentation activities of study results. The model also encourages interactions among students for achieving common goals. In this paper, we present an ICT application instruction which provides four major enhancements to the existing project-based model. The stages of model consist of eight activities type and supporting tools. Also, we implement our proposed model for some elementary school courses.

Analysis of Trends in Research on Instruction Models for ICT Teaching and Learning (ICT 교수·학습 측면에서 본 국내 수업모형 연구동향 분석)

  • This study categorized the literature on instruction models by research period, theme, teaching model, class, and subject to identify research trends. The sampling period was from 1977 to March 2013, and 586 research papers were analyzed. Changes in the studies on instruction models were divided into three stages: Stage 1 (1977-1996), Stage 2 (1997-2006), and Stage 3 (2006-2007). Research papers increased rapidly from 8% in Stage 1 to 51% in Stage 2, showing a rapid increase in Stage 2. "Design and development" was the most researched theme throughout the three stages, and the most researched instruction model type was "curriculum-oriented."By subjects, it was found that studies on "cross-curriculum" were being conducted more actively than other subjects. Based on these results, this study proposes directions for future domestic research on instruction models.

The Effect of the Instructional Models for ICT on the Practical Ability in the Application of Information with Relation to the Levels of Self-Regulated Learning (자기조절 학습전략 수준에 따른 정보통신기술 활용수업 모형이 정보활용 실천력에 미치는 효과)

  • Recently, ICT has emerged as an indispensable tool for teaching a variety of subjects in education systems. In this paper, we examine the effect of the instructional models for ICT on the practical ability in the application of information with relation to the levels of self-regulated learning strategies. Students were divided into 3 groups, according to the instructional model for ICT which were problem search learning, problem solution learning, and discussion learning. As an experimental tools, we did pretest using self-regulated learning strategies measurement questionnaire and did pretest and posttest using practical ability in the application of information measurement questionnaire. The results show that higher level of self-regulated teaming strategies group has high practical ability in the application of information than lower level group. Other interesting results are also provided.

Teaching-Learning Model Using ICT for Enhancing 'Ability to Put Information Literacy into Practice' (정보 활용의 실천력을 향상시키는 ICT 활용 교수-학습 모형)

  • The present instruction using ICT has a problem that it inclines toward instructing the simple technique of information or communication technology. In this paper, to cope with this problem, we propose a new Teaching-Learning model using ICT. The previous teaching-learning models using ICT are investigated and analyzed. Then, the criteria for evaluating the ability to put information literacy into practice are evenly reflected in the proposed model, is evenly reflected. The result of experiment reveals that the proposed model enhances the ability to put information literacy into practice on 5 items of 6 qualitative evaluation criteria.

An Instructional Learning Effectiveness of Network Concept by Problem-Oriented Learning for Computer Education in Elementary Schools (초등컴퓨터 교육에서 문제중심 학습을 이용한 네트워크 개념의 교수학습 효과)

  • Elementary school students have a great deal of interest in Internet games which provide integrated multimedia and so they become to know well the terminology used in network such as game server, Internet service, transfer time, etc. In addition, they are used to understand the technological phenomena occurring in internet. They, however, have difficulty understanding concepts and principles regarding the phenomena mentioned above because the educational contents in elementary school computer textbooks consist of only ICT education and its applications, i.e., tool-based technology. In this paper, we apply educational learning on network concepts which are the basis on the internet to classroom instruction by using problem oriented models. We conclude that the educational contents in elementary school computer education should be transferred to the area with principles and concepts.
