Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the latest trends of korean Medicine treatments on traffic accident for recent 5 years. Methods : We investigated the studies on korean Medicine treatments for traffic accident via searching 6 Korean web databases. As a result, 65 research papers were found to be analyzed according to their published year, the titles of journals, the types of study, the number of cases, the sites of injury, the types of treatments the instruments for assessment and ethics approvals. Results : 65 articles were published since 2008. The studies on korean Medicine treatments about traffic accident were mainly published in Journal of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine. 10 case studies, 14 case series, 11 non randomized controlled trials, 21 randomized controlled trials and 9 systemic reviews had been under research. The most frequently occurred symptoms were neck pain and low back pain. In most studies, various korean Medicine treatments were used to treat the symptoms. Visual analogue scale(VAS) and neck disability index(NDI) were used as primary assessments. In most clinical studies, there were no mention about approval of institutional review board(IRB). Conclusion : In this study, we analyzed the trends of korean Medicine treatments on traffic accident from 2008 to 2012. Reviewing the domestic trends of studies on korean Medicine treatments for traffic accident and examining the strong and weak points of those treatments are essential for the future studies. It is needed to adopt the qualitative methods of evaluation in order to develop a level of evidence.
The purpose of the study are expected to provide some basic information on counseling, diagnosis and treatment planning for patients related to teeth care. A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 320 subjects in Seoul and Gyeonggi from May to August, 2015 after permission from Institutional Review Board (IRB). Except 18 copies, 302 data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 19.0 program. The questionnaire consisted of four questions of the general characteristics of the subjects, ten questions of the awareness toward of subjective teeth, five questions of the influence of teeth on appearance, and ten questions of self-esteem. The dependent variables made a 23.4% prediction of self-esteem. If they have higher education(p<0.001), influence of teeth on appearance(p<0.001) and the awareness toward of subjective teeth(p<0.001) had significant influence on self-esteem. The findings suggest that heightened subjective awareness toward teeth seems to be of use for the improvement of self-esteem. Therefore it's required to make an effort to take good care of teeth in terms of color or arrangement as well as oral health.

Introduction: This study aims to investigate the effects of acupuncture stimulation on the radial artery's pressure pulse wave, along with various hemodynamic parameters, and to explore the possible underlying mechanism of pulse diagnosis in healthy participants in their twenties. Methods and analysis: This study is a prospective, single-arm, exploratory clinical study. A total of 25 healthy participants, without regard to gender, in their twenties will be recruited by physicians. Written informed consent will be obtained from all participants. The participants will receive acupuncture once at ST36 on both sides. The radial arterial pulse waves will be measured on the left arm of the subjects by using an applicable pulse tonometric device (KIOM-PAS). On the right arm (appearing twice), electrocardiogram (ECG), photoplethysmogram (PPG), respiration and cardiac output (CO) signals, will be measured using a physiological data acquisition system (Biopac module), while the velocity of blood flow, and the diameter and the depth of the blood vessel will be measured using an ultrasonogram machine on the right arm (appearing twice). All measurements will be conducted before, during, and after acupuncture. The primary outcome will be the spectral energy at high frequencies above 10 Hz ($SE_{10-30Hz}$) calculated from the KIOM-PAS device signal. Secondary outcomes will be various variables obtained from the KIOM-PAS device, ECG, PPG, impedance cardiography modules, and an ultrasonogram machine. Discussion: The results of this trial will provide information regarding the physiological and the hemodynamic mechanisms underlying acupuncture stimulation and clinical evidence for the influence of acupuncture on the pressure pulse wave in the radial artery. Ethics and dissemination: This study was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Kyung Hee University's Oriental Medical Center, Seoul, Korea (KOMCIRB-150818-HR-030). The study findings will be published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. Trial registration number: This trial was registered with the Clinical Research Information Service (CRIS) at the Korea National Institute of Health (NIH), Republic of Korea (KCT0001663), which is a registry in the World Health Organization's (WHO's) Registry Network.
In this study, the system for application of the bone stimulation was implemented using high frequency and low strain method. The whole system consists of the high frequency and low strain vibration stimulation system 177 for stimulating bone, LVDT sensor, and wireless sensor based on tri-axial accelerometer. To evaluate the usefulness of the system, the frequencies and accelerations from function generator were applied to the vibration stimulation system. The range of frequency was 17 Hz, 30 Hz, 45 Hz, 50 Hz and the range of acceleration was set 0.3 g, 0.6 g, 1g, and 2 g. The measured frequencies and acceleration using LVDT (linear variable difference transformer) sensor and 3-axial accelerometer were estimated and compared. The range of frequencies average difference was from 0.0 to 0.004 Hz. As the standard deviation of frequencies estimated by LVDT sensor and accelerometer was below 0.03 Hz and the output frequencies of function generator were similar: Also the results of t-test were satisfied with conditions of p > 0.05. And the acquired frequencies and acceleration from vibration measuring device module were estimated and analyzed. As the mean of accelerations was similar to the acceleration applied from function generator. And the standard deviation of acceleration estimated from vibration measuring device module was ranged from 0.019 g to 0.038 g. Also the results of t-test were satisfied with conditions of p > 0.05. Therefore, these results were airy similar to the acceleration applied from function generator. As a result, the usefulness of the system was confirmed. n a further study, clinical experiment will be carried out with the authorization of IRB (institutional review board) so that appropriate frequency and strain would be investigated in clinical field.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and body composition (BC) or backmuscle strength (BS). Sixty-one participants were measured by BMD using ultrasound bone densitometry and Inbody for BC (i.e., SLM=Soft lean mass, SMM=Skeletal muscle mass, FS=Fitness score. et al.), BS after self-questionnaire for life cycle. This study was performed after approving Institutional Review Board and obtaining the informed concent from all participants. Participants was divided into two group by BMD T-score; $T-score{\geq}-1.0$, T-score<-1.0. Statistical analysis was performed by using SPSS ver. 22.0(USA), Spearma test for correlation between BMD and BC or BS. BMD or SLM, BS was increased with increasing physical activity or body mass index. SMM or SMM, FS of BMD $T-score{\geq}-1.0$ group was higher than that of T-score <-1.0 group as well as BS(p>0.05). BMD T-score was correlated positively with SLM(r= 0.424) or SMM(r= 0.431) in men, as well as in women(p<0.05). BS was correlated positively with SLM or SMM, FS. BS was significantly positive correlated with BMD in women group (r= 0.591, p= 0.001), but not in men group. We concluded that BMD is the relationship with SLM or SMM, as well as BS in women.
Background: In clinical trials with no upper age limit, the proportion of older patients is usually small, probably reflecting the more conservative approach adopted by clinicians when treating the elderly. An exploratory analysis of elderly patients in the RECORD-1 Trial showed that patients ${\geq}$ 65 y.o. had superior median PFS than overall RECORD-1 population (5.4 months and 4.9 months, respectively). We investigated the efficacy, relative benefit and safety of Everolimus (EVE) as sequential therapy after failure of VEGFr-TKI therapy for older patients with metastatic renal cell cancer (mRCC), in daily practice. Materials and Methods: 172 consecutive IRB approved patients with mRCC (median age 65, M:F 135/37, 78% clear cell) who received salvage EVE at 39 tertiary institutions between October 2009 and August 2011 were included in this analysis. Some 31% had progressed on sunitinib, 22% on sorafenib, 1% on axitinib, 41% on sequential therapy, and 5% had received other therapy. Patients with brain metastases were not included and 95% of the patients had a ECOG (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group) performance status (PS) of 0 or 1. Previous radiotherapy was an exclusion criterion, but prior chemotherapy was permitted. Adequate organ function and hematologic parameters were mandatory. EVE administration was approved by the institutional review board at each participating institution and signed informed consent was obtained from all patients. Results: Median time of the whole cohort to last follow-up was 3.5 months (range 0.4-15.2 months). Forty four percent were continuing to take EVE at last followup. There were 86 (50%) patients ${\geq}$ 65 y.o. and 86 (50%) <65 y.o. The percentage of patients who showed PR/SD was higher in the older group than in the younger one (5.9%/61.2% vs 1.2%/46.5%, respectively). Median survival of older patients was also significantly longer (3.5 +/- 0.31 vs 3.1 +/- 0.34, hazard ratio=0.45, CI; 0.255-0.802). Analysis using Cox regression model adjusted for gender, PS, number of metastases, site of metastases, histology, smoking history and age detected an association between age and PFS (p=0.011). The frequency of adverse events in elderly patients treated with EVE was no greater than that in younger patients, although such toxicity may have had a greater impact on their quality of life. Conclusions: Older patients should not generally be excluded from accepted therapies (mTOR inhibitors after failure of VEGFr-TKI therapy) for mRCC.

Purpose : To evaluate the relationship between the speed of enhancement of hepatic hemangiomas on gadolinium-enhanced MRI and ADC values by using various parameters, including the D, f, $D^*$ and $ADC_{fit}$ on intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MR Imaging. Materials and Methods: The institutional review board approved this retrospective study. A total of 47 hepatic hemangiomas from 39 patients were included (20 men and 19 women). The hemangiomas were classified into three types according to the enhancement speed of the hepatic hemangiomas on gadolinium-enhanced dynamic T1-weighted images: rapid (Type A), intermediate (Type B), and slow (Type C) enhancement. The D, f, $D^*$ and $ADC_{fit}$ values were calculated using IVIM MR imaging. The diffusion/perfusion parameters and ADC values were compared among the three types of hemangiomas. Results: Both the $ADC_{fit}$ and D values of type C were significantly lower than those of type A (P = 0.0022, P = 0.0085). However, for the f and $D^*$, there were no significant differences among the three types. On DWI with all b values (50, 200, 500 and $800sec/mm^2$), the ADC values of type C were significantly lower than those of the type A (P < 0.012). For b values with $800sec/mm^2$, the $ADC_{800}$ values of the type C hemangiomas were significantly lower than those of type B (P = 0.0021). We found a negative correlation between hepatic hemangioma enhancement type and $ADC_{50}$ (${\rho}=-0.357$, P = 0.014), $ADC_{200}$ (${\rho}=-0.537$, P = 0.0001), $ADC_{500}$ (${\rho}=-0.614$, P = 0.0001), and $ADC_{800}$ (${\rho}=-0.607$, P = 0.0001). Therefore, four ADC values of $ADC_{50}$, $ADC_{200}$, $ADC_{500}$, and $ADC_{800}$ were decreased with decreasing enhancement speed. Conclusion: Hepatic hemangiomas had variable ADCs according to the type of enhancement, and the reduced ADCs in slowly enhancing hemangiomas may be related to the reduced pure molecular diffusion (D).

This study examined the glycemic indices (GIs) and glycemic loads of carbohydrate-rich snacks in Korea according to variety and cooking method. The most popular carbohydrate snacks (corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, chestnuts, and red beans) from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey nutrient database were cooked using a variety of conventional cooking methods (steaming, baking, porridge, puffing, and frying). The GIs of foods were measured in 60 healthy males after receiving permission from the University Hospital institutional review board (KMC IRB 1306-01). Blood glucose and insulin levels were then measured at 0, 15, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min after consuming glucose, and each test food contained 50 g of carbohydrates (corn: 170.0 g, potatoes: 359.7 g, sweet potatoes: 160.3 g, chestnuts: 134.8 g, red beans: 73.1 g). GI values for test foods were calculated based on the increase in the area under the blood glucose response curve for each subject. Steamed potatoes ($93.6{\pm}11.6$), corn porridge ($91.8{\pm}19.5$), baked sweet potatoes ($90.9{\pm}9.6$), baked potatoes ($78.2{\pm}14.5$), steamed corn ($73.4{\pm}9.9$), and steamed sweet potatoes ($70.8{\pm}6.1$) were shown to be considered high GI foods, whereas baked chestnuts ($54.3{\pm}6.3$), red bean porridge ($33.1{\pm}5.5$), steamed red beans ($22.1{\pm}3.2$), fried potatoes ($41.5{\pm}7.8$), and ground and pan-fried potatoes ($28.0{\pm}5.1$) were considered as low GI foods. The results suggest that the cooking method of carbohydrate-rich snacks is an important determinant of GI values.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of falls, fear of falling, perceived health status, and number of disease according to cognitive function in community-dwelling the elderly women. This study utilized a descriptive survey design. Data were collected for six months with 311 elderly women who visited in public health center at S city. After obtaining Institutional Review Board(IRB) approval, a face-to-face, and private interview was conducted with each participant who was eligible and agreed to participate in this study by trained graduate-level nursing students. The questionnaires consisted of MoCA-K, K-MMSE, Fall Efficacy Scale, PHS scale. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 17.0 program, which was used descriptive statistics, Chi-Square test and t-test, Correlation. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) The average age of the subjects was 71.68±5.13 and cognitive function score was 22.14±4.32. approximately 35% of participants had fallen within one year. 2) there were significant differences in perceived health status according to cognitive function. 3) fear of fall and cognitive function, perceived health status and cognitive function were significant correlation. In conclusion, this study will contribute to establish strategies for preventing fall. Interventions for fall prevention and fear of fall enhancement should be developed with the consideration of the level of cognitive function in the elderly. Reducing the fear of falling through the comprehensive nursing intervention will ultimately improve the quality of life in the elderly.
