The Factors Influencing the Recognition of the Social Capital of the Korea Coast Guard (해양경찰조직의 사회자본 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study was carried out empirical analysis of the factors that affect the recognition of the social capital of the Korea Coast Guard. Through the literature review, leadership types and institutional environments were set as independent variables, and components of social capital were set as trust, participation and network. The result showed that higher institutional environments were effective to building trust and network. And both transformational and transactional leadership were effective to increasing participation. These results supports literature reviews, and this proved necessity of change in the leadership and institutional environment for building the social capital of the Korea Coast Guard effectively.

The Life Satisfaction of The Aged in The Institutional Household (공공가정 거주노인의 생활만족도 : 유료양로원을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the way to improve the life satisfaction of the aged in the institutional household by examing some of factors such as individual, social support and facility that influence their life satisfaction. In the view of statistical results, the level of their life satisfaction is influenced by individual, social support and facility related to factors. First, the level of the aged’s life satisfaction is high when the person has spouse who lives together, has many children, presumes oneself as in healthy and has high-satisfaction of religion. Second, the level of the aged’s life satisfaction is high when the person has good relationship with friends in institutional household and one’s children. And the person whose relative call her or him frequently and she or he is proud of one’s being in institutional household has high-satisfaction of one’s life. Third, the level of the aged’s life satisfaction is high when the person satisfies the quality of food-services and housing services. Finally, the results of in-depth interview show that the person who has financial power, a certain of hobby and one’s role has high-satisfaction of one’s life

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the consideration factors, from both parties' perspective, to select the most appropriate arbitral institution when they inset an arbitration clause in their contract. Accordingly, the author analyzed the advantages of institutional arbitration compared to non-institutional arbitration. The typical advantages of institutional arbitration would include: $\bullet$ Benefits of using an established set of rules $\bullet$ Services provided by the institution $\bullet$ Low risks of obstruction $\bullet$ Enhancement of the possibilities of enforcement $\bullet$ Forecast of the estimated cost $\bullet$ Specially useful for existing disputes Next, this author examined the consideration factors when selecting the institution in respect of the following factors: $\bullet$ Institution's arbitration rules $\bullet$ Institution's rule regarding the appointment of arbitrators $\bullet$ Ability of administrators of each institution $\bullet$ Reputation of the arbitral institution and the likability of enforceability of its award $\bullet$ Cost $\bullet$ Choice of the arbitral institution in relation to the choice of place of arbitration Finally, this author reviewed Model Arbitration Clause of major international or local Institutions, including ICC, AAA, LCIA, KCAB, CIETAC, ICSID and WIPO. Further examination was given to the selection of the numbers of the arbitral tribunal, the seat of arbitration and the language of arbitration, according to the designated articles in each institution's arbitration rules.

  • Enterprise Architecture (EA) is one of controversial subjects theses days. Some organizations, public or private, are very impetuous in adopting it and some are quite Indifferent to it. What makes this difference come about? This is our research question. One previous research has studied on this issue under the theory of diffusion of innovation. Instead, we here attempt to investigate, in the context of technology transfer theory, the influencing factors on the adoption of EA. We are especially interested In whether korea local organizations are more Influenced by 'need pull' factors than 'institutional push' factors or vice versa.

Predictors of Violent Behavior by Patient or Caregiver of Patient in the Emergency Department (응급실 환자 및 보호자의 폭력행위 예측요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate predictors of violent behavior by patient or caregiver of patient in the emergency department. Methods: Subjects of the study were 447 residents who have visited the emergency department in community P Metropolitan City during the past year. The data collecting period was from June 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012. Data was collected using self-reported questionnaires. Results: Predictors of violent behavior in the emergency department were divided into personal and institutional factors. Personal factors included relationship with patients, presence of alcohol, reports of discontent during and past treatment and responses to deterioration in patient's conditions, institution factors included perceived attitudes toward medical workers' explanations and proficiency of medical workers, and delay in medical treatment hours. Conclusion: Knowledge of personal and institutional factors may permit emergency staff to minimize or prevent potential violence in the emergency department.

  • A firefighter is one of the most dangerous jobs. But in many precent studies, risk induction factors have been understood as direct accident causes and classification of the factors are not logical. This studies reviews risk induction risks and categorized them into institutional, cultural and personal experience factors. institutional factors, Institutional factors are composed of educational and working conditions. Cultural factors are composed of performance oriented and considerate parts. Personal experiences are divided into two parts: experiences about organizational members and about ordinary citizens. Survey showed that working conditions were recognized so poorly by firefighters.

An Exploratory Study on Institutional Commitment of C-University Students (C대학교 대학생의 대학 몰입에 관한 탐색적 논의)

  • The purpose of this study is to pave the way to promote the institutional commitment of the students enrolled by identifying the factors that affects on their institutional commitment. The data collection was conducted starting from November 19, 2020 until November 26, 2020 by using online questionnaires and 220 participants were from C-university students in Chang-won, Kyung-nam Province. As a result of analysis, the average score for institutional commitment was 3.30, the average level of satisfaction of university life was 3.62, the cultural climate was 3.39 and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular program was 3.48, which was in high range. Institutional commitment has a positive correlation between the level of satisfaction of university life, the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs(p<.001). The most critical factor that affects the institutional commitment was the level of satisfaction of university life and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs, the cultural climate in order. The result can be interpreted that institutional commitment is influenced by students' major and the level of satisfaction of university life and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs, and the level of satisfaction of university life has relatively high level of influence out of other factors, indicating that the effort to improve the institutional commitment of the students is needed at the collegiate level.

A Study of Institutional Theory and Korean FDI (진출국 제도와 해외직접투자 선택에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore the determining factors of foreign direct investment(FDI) of Korea by using institutioanl theory. In addition, this study divides institutional facts into the formal and the informal institutions. The empirical test implements multiful regression analysis focuing on korean electronics and automotive industry. The dependent variables are FDI outflow and the independent ones are corruption, econimic freedom, political risk, human development, and culturan distance. According to the empirical results, corruptin and human development have positive effects on Korean FDI outflow. On the other hand, political risks and economic freedom have negative effects on Korean FDI outflow. This results indicate the importance of forman and informal institutional facotrs as determinants of Korean FDI outflow.

  • The aim of this study was to determine how to improve smart working in South Korea. Smart working has recently become a key issue in e-government and flexible working studies. Smart working can improve public servants' quality of life and job performance. However, institutional, managerial, and infrastructural conditions that support smart working must be implemented for smart working arrangements to be successful. Therefore, this study analyzed the impact of institutions, management, and infrastructure on the effectiveness of public servants working in smart working conditions. The results showed that institutional, managerial, and infrastructural factors have a significant impact on the effectiveness of civil servants working in smart working conditions. Institutional and infrastructural factors also influenced organizational effectiveness. These findings have implications for how to manage smart working in the public sector in South Korea.

Effects of Entrepreneur Characteristics and Software Innovativeness on Performance of Software Company: The Moderating Effects of Institutional Pressure (기업가 특성이 소프트웨어 혁신성 및 기업성과에 미치는 영향과 제도적 압력의 조절효과)

  • This study shows that a sustainable competitive advantage and entrepreneurial characteristics are necessary for a software company to achieve competitive innovation and growth. This study investigates various software company characteristics and the effects of various company factors as its main research objectives. The data used in this research model were collected from software companies in South Korea. A total of 211 questionnaires were collected over a period of two months in 2013. EXCEL, AMOS, and SPSS were used to derive the study results. The hypothesis testing results of this study are as follows. First, a software company's entrepreneurial innovativeness and risk-taking behaviors have a positive influence on software innovativeness. A greater sense of innovativeness and entrepreneurial orientation leads to a higher propensity to take risks in software development. Second, the characteristics of software innovativeness, and flexibility have a significant influence on software company performance. Innovation during the initial periods of software usage can create a high demand for improvements and new features, requiring a flexible software design. Finally, this study analyzes the software features of entrepreneurial characteristics and the influence of institutional factors on the characteristics of individual innovativeness and software development. Entrepreneurial characteristics can affect governmental or institutional support, policies, and legal frameworks to promote the role of software innovativeness. The results of this study imply that software companies can adopt an entrepreneurial approach to promote technology development and product development for achieving a competitive advantage in the industry. This study also analyzes the environmental factors that affect the software industry and their implications for policy makers.
