This paper is the design and implementation to the 4x4 MIMO algorithm based on OFDM, and presented how to verify the implemented result. Algorithm applied the MRVD and QRM-MLD. Matlab and Simulink are used to design channel presumption & MIMO algorithm by Floating-point and Fixed-point model. After then implement VHDL using Modelsim. Performance of algorithm is checked by comparing Simulink model, Modelsim simulation, ISE ChipScope with the result measured by oscilloscope. This method is useful to verify an algorithm with uncompleted system. Conformance between the result of ChipScope and the result of oscilloscope is confirmed, it could be applied on the Backhaul system.
Precoding in the multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system is investigated. In conventional wideband precoding (WBP), only one precoder, obtained from the decomposition of the subcarrier independent channel matrix, is used for all subcarriers. With an investigation of the relationship between the subcarrier independent channel matrix and the temporal/frequency channels, an improved WBP scheme is proposed for practical scenarios in which a part of subcarriers are allocated to a user. The improved WBP scheme is a generalized scheme of which narrow-band precoding and conventional WBP schemes are special modes. Simulation results demonstrate that the improved WBP scheme almost achieves the optimum performance of a single precoder and outperforms the conventional WBP scheme in terms of the bit error ratio and ergodic capacity with slight complexity increase. The largest advantage of the improved WBP scheme on signal-to-noise ratio in simulation results is over 2.1 dB.

The past several years have witnessed an ever-increasing acceptance and adoption of parallel processing, both for high performance scientific computing as well as for more general purpose applications. Furthermore with increasing needs to perform the complex flow calculations in an efficient manner, the use of the message passing model on distributed networks has emerged as an important alternative to the expensive supercomputers. This work attempts to provide a generic framework to enable the parallelization of all CFD-related works using the master-slave model. This framework consists of (1) input geometry, (2) domain decomposition, (3) grid generation, (4) flow computations, (5) flow visualization, and (6) output display as the sequential components, but performs computations for (2) to (5) in parallel on the workstation clustering. The flow computations are parallized by having multiple copies of the flow-code to solve a PDE on different spatial regions on different processors, while their flow data are exchanged across the region boundaries, and the solution is time-stepped. The Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) is used for distributed communication in this work.

Lattice reduction (LR) has been used widely in conventional multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems to enhance the performance. However, LR is hard to be applied to the relay systems which are important but more complicated in the wireless communication theory. This paper introduces a new viewpoint for utilizing LR in multiuser MIMO relay systems. The vector precoding (VP) is designed along with zero force (ZF) criterion and minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion and enhanced by LR algorithm. This implementable precoder design combines nonlinear processing at the base station (BS) and linear processing at the relay. This precoder is capable of avoiding multiuser interference (MUI) at the mobile stations (MSs) and achieving excellent performance. Moreover, it is shown that the amount of feedback information is much less than that of the singular value decomposition (SVD) design. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme using the complex version of the Lenstra--Lenstra--Lovász (LLL) algorithm significantly improves system performance.
In this paper, we present a closed-form approximation of the average sum rate of zero-forcing (ZF) beamforming (BF) with semi-orthogonal user selection (SUS). We first derive the survival probability associated with the SUS that absolute square of the channel correlation between two users is less than the orthogonalization level threshold (OLT).With this result, each distribution for the number of surviving users at each iteration of the SUS and the number of streams for transmission is calculated. Secondly, the received signal power of ZF-BF is represented as a function of the elements of the upper triangular matrix from QR decomposition of the channel matrix. Thirdly, we approximate the received signal power of ZF-BF with the SUS as the maximum of scaled chisquare random variables where the scaling factor is approximated as a function of both OLT and the number of users in the system. Putting all the above derivations and order statistics together, the approximated ergodic sum rate of ZF-BF with the SUS is shown in a closed form. The simulation results verify that the approximation tightly matches with the sample average for any OLT and even for a small number of users.
This paper presents a low-complexity channel-adaptive reconfigurable $4{\times}4$ QR-decomposition and M-algorithm-based maximum likelihood detection (QRM-MLD) multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) detector. Two novel design approaches for low-power QRM-MLD hardware are proposed in this work. First, an approximate survivor metric (ASM) generation technique is presented to achieve considerable computational complexity reduction with minor BER degradation. A reconfigurable QRM-MLD MIMO detector (where the M-value represents the number of survival branches in a stage) for dynamically adapting to time-varying channels is also proposed in this work. The proposed reconfigurable QRM-MLD MIMO detector is implemented using a Samsung 65 nm CMOS process. The experimental results show that our ASM-based QRM-MLD MIMO detector shows a maximum throughput of 288 Mbps with a normalized power efficiency of 10.18 Mbps/mW in the case of $4{\times}4$ MIMO with 64-QAM. Under time-varying channel conditions, the proposed reconfigurable MIMO detector also achieves average power savings of up to 35% while maintaining a required BER performance.

LTE-Advanced aims at peak data rates of 1Gbits/s for the downlink and 500 Mbits/s for the uplink, which can be accomplished only by using wide spectrum allocation of 100MHz as well as advanced multiple input multiple output antenna techniques to the uplink. This paper analyzes the uplink precoding techniques which include LTE codebook of downlink, singular value decomposition codebook, and equal gain transmission codebook over LTE defined single carrier frequency division multiplexing systems. Finally considering nonlinear transmit power amplifier model, it is shown that link-level performance of EGT is superior to those of any other precoding schemes.
This paper derives and analyzes a novel block fast Fourier transform (FFT) based joint detection algorithm. The paper compares the performance and complexity of the novel block-FFT based joint detector to that of the Cholesky based joint detector and single user detection algorithms. The novel algorithm can operate at chip rate sampling, as well as higher sampling rates. For the performance/complexity analysis, the time division duplex (TDD) mode of a wideband code division multiplex access (WCDMA) is considered. The results indicate that the performance of the fast FFT based joint detector is comparable to that of the Cholesky based joint detector, and much superior to that of single user detection algorithms. On the other hand, the complexity of the fast FFT based joint detector is significantly lower than that of the Cholesky based joint detector and less than that of the single user detection algorithms. For the Cholesky based joint detector, the approximate Cholesky decomposition is applied. Moreover, the novel method can also be applied to any generic multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system.

Maximum Likelihood (ML) detection is well known to exhibit better bit-error-rate (BER) than many other detectors for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel. However, ML detection has been shown a difficult problem due to its NP-hard problem. It means that there is no known algorithm which can find the optimal solution in polynomial-time. In this paper, Semi-Definite relaxation (SDR) is iteratively applied to ML detection problem. The probability distribution can be obtained by survival eigenvector out of the dominant eigenvalue term of the optimal solution. The probability distribution which is yielded by SDR is recurred to the received signal. Our approach can reach to nearly ML performance.

A resource allocation algorithm is proposed in this paper to simultaneously minimize the total system power consumption and maximize the system throughput for the downlink of multi-user multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems. With the Lagrange dual decomposition method, we transform the original problem to its convex dual problem and prove that the duality gap between the two problems is zero, which means the optimal solution of the original problem can be obtained by solving its dual problem. Then, we use convex optimization method to solve the dual problem and utilize bisection method to obtain the optimal dual variable. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to traditional single-objective optimization method in both the system throughput and the system energy consumption.
