Au/Titania Composite Nanoparticle Arrays with Controlled Size and Spacing by Organic-Inorganic Nanohybridization in Thin Film Block Copolymer Templates

  • A simple approach to prepare arrays of Au/TiO2 composite nanoparticles by using Au-loaded block copolymers as templates combined with a sol-gel process is described. The organic-inorganic hybrid films with closely packed inorganic nanodomains in organic matrix are produced by spin coating the mixtures of polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PS-b-PEO)/HAuCl4 solution and sol-gel precursor solution. After removal of the organic matrix with deep UV irradiation, arrays of Au/TiO2 composite nanoparticles with different compositions or particle sizes can be easily produced. Different photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra from an organic-inorganic hybrid film and arrays of Au/TiO2 composite nanoparticles indicate that TiO2 and Au components exist as separate state in the initial hybrid film and form composite nanoparticles after the removal of the block copolymer matrix.

  • In various industries, many researches studies have been done in using nano thin film fabrication technology. In the field of printed electronics, various electronic devices can be fabricated using a direct printing process of on multiple functional materials. It has the advantages of low prices, environment-friendly environmentally friendly, flexibleility, large scale, mass production produced, simple process and so on. In this study, a viable thin film fabrication technology has beenwas introduced using the surface acoustic wave mechanism for thin film deposition. Fabrication of thin films using organic, inorganic and composite of organic/inorganic materials have been were analyzed through the experimental research. In this experiment, organic material MEH:PPV, inorganic material ZnO and composite material MEH:PPV/ZnO have been depo sited as thin films.

Permeation Properties of Composite Thin Film for Organic Based Electronic Devices

  • We fabricated composite materials as a pellet structure with the various kinds of inorganic material powder. The composite materials were deposited onto the plastic film by the electron beam evaporation and water vapor transmission rates (WVTRs) were measured by the MOCON facility. As a result of WVTRs, the composite materials had lower WVTR value than any other inorganic materials. So, these films were proposed to protect the organic light emitting device (OLED) from moisture and oxygen. We can consider that the composite thin-film is one of the more suitable candidates for the thin-film passivation layer in the OLED. And, we are processing the XRD, XPS and EPMA to analyze the property of the composite material. We will also analyze properties of the current-voltage and luminescence for lifetime both the composite thin-film passivated OLED and non-passivated OLED.

  • To improvement life-time of the organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs). We investigate the inorganic composite film based on MgO and $SiO_2$ to protect from the moisture and oxygen. The inorganic composite films are added the base materials to the co-operate materials using the mixed process and it is deposited on plastic substrate by e-beam evaporator. In order to analyze as kinds of inorganic materials, Water Vapor method of Transmission Rate (WVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) are measured by Permatran equipment(MOCON Corp.). For comparison. an MgD- and $SiO_2$-based composite film has lower values of WVTR and OTR than inorganic composite/compound films of ones. The results obtained here shows that this film is suitable for passivation layer to extend the life-time of OLEDs.

투명 유-무기 하이브리드 하드코팅 필름 제조 및 SiO2 또는 ZrO2함량에 따른 필름의 물성 (Preparation of Transparent Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Hard Coating Films and Physical Properties by the Content of SiO2 or ZrO2 in Their Films)

  • Transparent organic-inorganic hybrid hard coating films were prepared by the addition of $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$, as an inorganic filler to improve the hardness property, filler was highly dispersed in the acrylic resin. To improve the compatibility in the acrylic resin, $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$ is surface-modified using various silanes with variation of the modification time and silane content. Depending on the content and kind of the modified inorganic oxide, transparent modified inorganic sols were formulated in acryl resin. Then, the sols were bar coated and cured on PET films to investigate the optical and mechanical properties. The optimized film, which has a modified $ZrO_2$ content of 4 wt% markedly improved in terms of the hardness, haze, and transparency as compared to neat acrylate resin and acrylate resin containing modified $SiO_2$ content of 8 wt%. Meanwhile, the low transparency and high haze of these films slowly appeared at $SiO_2$ content above 10 wt% and $ZrO_2$ content of 5 wt%, but the hardness values were maintained at 2H and 3H, respectively, in comparison with the HB of neat acrylate resin.

  • 이 연구에서 우리는 3차원 계층적 나노구조화된 유/무기 복합 표면을 가진 소수성 코팅/필름을 제조하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저 근접장 나노패터닝(PnP)이라 불리는 첨단 포토리소그래피 기술을 통해 에폭시 기반의 대면적 3차원 정렬 나노다공성 템플릿을 준비하였다. 이후, 딥 코팅을 통해 평균 직경이 22 nm인 실리카 나노입자를 템플릿에 조밀하게 함침시켜 계층적 구조화된 표면을 구현하였다. 표면에 공존하는 마이크로 및 나노 스케일 거칠기로 인해, 제조된 복합 필름은 대조군에 비해 물에 대한 높은 접촉각(>137도)을 나타내었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 개발된 소재 및 공정은 전통적인 코팅/필름 분야에서 다양하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 투명한 플라스틱 필름의 표면경도를 향상시키기 위하여 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 졸-겔 공정을 이용하여 합성하였다. 무기성분으로 콜로이드 실리카와 유기성분으로 PMMA, 유-무기 성분 간의 결합력을 향상시켜 하이브리드 코팅 층의 특성을 더욱 향상시키기 위하여 실란커플링제로서 vinyl trimethoxy silane (VTMS)과 [3-(metha cryloyloxy)] propyl trimethoxy silane (MAPTMS)를 이용하였고, 알콕시 실란의 종류, 콜로이드 실리카/PMMA의 함량비 등의 반응조건에 따라 콜로이드 실리카/PMMA 졸을 합성하였다. 이러한 졸을 PET 필름에 바코팅시키고, 열경화 시켜 하드코팅막을 제조하여 물리적 화학적 특성을 조사하였다. PMMA에 비해서 하이브리드 형태에서 코팅 막의 연필경도와 기재와의 부착력이 우수하였다.

  • This study presents the technology and application of hybrid insulation film for electric magnet wire. In order to make the high efficient motor with high space factor, it is necessary to develop a self-lubrication heat-resistant insulation film that can be used when the space factor 70% or more. A key to achieving high windability is to increase the lubricity and bonding strength of vanish, which for a magnet wire generally determines the mechanical scratches characteristics. Effective ways to reduce scratches include improving insulation film prepared by organic and inorganic hybrid synthesis methods.

Preparation and Characterization of Sol-Gel Derived $SiO_2-TiO_2$ -PDMS Composite Films

  • Thin films of the SiO2-TiO2-PDMS composite material have been prepared by the sol-gel dip coating method. Acid catalyzed solutions of tetraethoxy silane (TEOS) and polydimethyl siloxane (PDMS) mixed with titanium isopropoxide Ti(OiPr) were used as precursors. The optical and structural properties of the organically modified 70SiO2-30TiO2 composite films have been investigated with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-Visible Spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and prism coupling technique. The films coated on the soda-lime-silicate glass exhibit 450-750 nm thickness, 1.56-1.68 refractive index and 88-94% transmittance depending on the experimental parameters such as amount of PDMS, thermal treatment and heating rate. The optical loss of prepared composite film was measured to be about 0.34 dB/cm.

Increase in Discharge Capacity of Li Battery Assembled with Electrochemically Prepared V2O5/polypyrrole-composite-film Cathode

  • Flexible composite films of $V_2O_5$ and conductive polypyrrole ($V_2O_5$/PPy) were grown by facile electrochemical polymerization, wherein an anodization potential was applied to the substrate electrode in an electrolyte solution containing pyrrole monomer and dispersed $V_2O_5$ particles. The coating of polypyrrole (PPy) on the surface of $V_2O_5$ particles was induced by the oxidative catalytic action of $V_2O_5$ during the electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole. PPy in the composite film connects the isolated $V_2O_5$ particles. This results in the formation of conductive networks in the composite film cathode, thereby enhancing the Li+ ion diffusion to the surface of the isolated $V_2O_5$ particles and thus increasing the accessibility of the $Li^+$ ions. The specific capacity tests of the Li rechargeable batteries revealed that the discharge capacity of this composite film cathode was higher, i.e., $497\;mAhg^{-1}$, than that of $V_2O_5$/PPy powder or pristine $V_2O_5$.
