  • Histogram is the oldest and most widely used density estimator for presentation and exploration of observed univariate data. The structure of a histogram really depends on the number of bins and the width of the bins, so that slight changes on bins can produce totally different shape of a histogram. In order to solve this problem the fuzzy histogram was introduced and the result was good enough (Loquin and Strauss, 2008). In particular, when estimating loss distribution related with operational risk a histogram has been widely used. In this article, instead of an ordinary histogram we try to use a fuzzy histogram for estimating loss distribution and show that a fuzzy histogram provide more stable results.

  • Although the concept of RTLS is very unfamiliar to construction industry, recently it is popular in other industry, such as logistics, ship building, mobile telecommunication based on state-of-the-art information technology. Effective resource management using cutting-edge information technology makes it possible to succeed a project with saving the time and cost. And effective information management in construction project can be achieved by the new technologies such as RFID, WEB-based internet, DB technology, real-time monitoring technology, etc. This paper suggest the characteristics and applicability of the international standard electric waves to be used for the real-time locating system (RTLS) on the viewpoint of transmission loss in construction field to monitor and manage resources of construction project effectively The two types of electric waves based on the international standard is to be suggested after surveying the as-is technology in the related industries and then is analyzed to find out the characteristics of those by the concept of the electric wave transition loss in the several construction situations. Two main electric waves, the 2.4GHz and the 433MHz technologies as the international standard is researched on the applicability to the indoor environment of construction site.

  • The paper aims to analyse the obligations and Responsibilities of shipper in the Rotterdam Rules. The Rotterdam Rules, has underlying intention that it will provide uniform law for the international carriage of goods by sea. It is highly expected that the Rotterdam Rules will create the new international legal regime replacing Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules. Rotterdam Rules provide the obligations and responsibilities of shipper in express. The shippers obliged to provide, (a) duty as to the condition in which the cargo has to be delivered to the carrier, (b) cooperation of the shipper and the carrier in providing information and instruction, and (c) shipper's obligation to provide information, instructions and documents. The shipper is liable for loss or damage sustained by the carrier if the carrier proves that such loss or damages was caused by a breach of the shipper's obligations. However, the shipper is relieved of all or part of its liability if the cause or one of the causes of the loss or damage is not attributable to its fault or to the fault. But, the shipper shall indemnify the carrier against loss or damage resulting from the inaccuracy of such information. Rotterdam Rules is providing rather concrete as to the shipper's responsibilities and burden of proof in separate chapter. The question is whether such burden of proof of the fault should be imposed to the shipper.

  • In this paper, we analyze the radio propagation path loss characteristics for the vertical electric dipole radiation over the perfect electric conductor(PEC) ground plane. Most research have been performed about the electromagnetic analysis of vertical electric dipole in free space for time domain or frequency domain. But this paper present the radio propagation path loss over PEC ground plane in time domain under the assumption of the vertical electric dipole as a base station. From the simulated results, the ground plane effect can change the location of near field from transmitting antenna and the transient responses at mobile are calculated. The results of this paper can be applied to surface radar or signal processing applications.

  • In this paper, we propose an intergraded unified imperfect CSI model and investigate the joined effects of feedback delay and channel estimation errors (CEE) for two-hop relaying systems with transmit beamforming and relay selection. We derived closed-form expressions for important performance measures including the exact analysis and lower bounds of outage probability as well as error performance. The ergodic capacity is also included with closed-form results. Furthermore, diversity and coding gains based on the asymptotic analysis at high SNRs are also presented, which are simple and concise and provide new analytical insights into the corresponding power allocation scheme. The analysis indicates that delay effect results in the coding gain loss and the diversity order loss, while CEE will merely cause the coding gain loss. Numerical results verify the theoretical analysis and illustrate the system is more sensitive to transmit beamforming delay compared with relay selection delay and also verify the superiority of optimum power allocation. We further investigate the outage loss due to the CEE and feedback delays, which indicates that the effect of the CEE is more influential at low-to-medium SNR, and then it will hand over the dominate role to the feedback delay.

  • In a multi-hop wireless network, connectivity is determined by the link that is established by the receiving signal strength computed by subtracting the path loss from the transmission power. Two path loss models are commonly used in research, namely two-ray ground and shadow fading, which determine the receiving signal strength and affect the link quality. Link quality is one of the key factors that affect network performance. In general, network performance improves with better link quality in a wireless network. In this study, we measure the network connectivity and performance in a shadow fading path loss model, and our observation shows that both are severely degraded in this path loss model. To improve network performance, we propose power control schemes utilizing link quality to identify the set of nodes required to adjust the transmission power in order to improve the network throughput in both homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-hop wireless networks. Numerical studies to evaluate the proposed schemes are presented and compared.

  • It has been widely acknowledged that occlusion impairments adversely distress many face recognition algorithms' performance. Therefore, it is crucial to solving the problem of face image occlusion in face recognition. To solve the image occlusion problem in face recognition, this paper aims to automatically de-occlude the human face majority or discriminative regions to improve face recognition performance. To achieve this, we decompose the generative process into two key stages and employ a separate generative adversarial network (GAN)-based network in both stages. The first stage generates an initial coarse face image without an occlusion mask. The second stage refines the result from the first stage by forcing it closer to real face images or ground truth. To increase the performance and minimize the artifacts in the generated result, a new refine loss (e.g., reconstruction loss, perceptual loss, and adversarial loss) is used to determine all differences between the generated de-occluded face image and ground truth. Furthermore, we build occluded face images and corresponding occlusion-free face images dataset. We trained our model on this new dataset and later tested it on real-world face images. The experiment results (qualitative and quantitative) and the comparative study confirm the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed work in removing challenging occlusion masks with various structures, sizes, shapes, types, and positions.

  • Artificial intelligence is being applied in various industrial fields to the development of the fourth industry and the construction of high-performance computing environments. In the medical field, deep learning learning such as cancer, COVID-19, and bone age measurement was performed using medical images such as X-Ray, MRI, and PET and clinical data. In addition, ICT medical fusion technology is being researched by applying smart medical devices, IoT devices and deep learning algorithms. Among these techniques, medical image-based deep learning learning requires accurate finding of medical image biomarkers, minimal loss rate and high accuracy. Therefore, in this paper, we would like to compare and analyze the performance of the Cross-Entropy function used in the image classification algorithm of the loss function that derives the loss rate in the chest X-Ray image-based deep learning learning process.

  • This paper presents the effects of via losses to be connected with an embedded DPDT(Double Pole Double Thru) in a substrate. The substrate consists of two ABF(Ajinomoto Bonding Film) and a Epoxy core. In order to verify and test effects of via, via chains in a substrate using SoP-L process are proposed and measured. Via loss can be calculated as averaging the total via holes. The exact loss of a DPDT switch embedded in substrate are extracted by using the results of via chain and measured data from embedded DPDT. The calculated one via insertion loss is about 0.0005 dB on basis of measured via chains. This result confirms very low loss in via. So the inserti on loss of the embedded switch is confirmed only switch loss as loss is 0.4 dB.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the soil loss amount with Geographic Information System according to the land use change of Buju mountain area in Mokpo city. To estimate the soil loss, Universal Soil Loss Equation which is the most proper technique to predict soil loss in this site condition is adopted and IDRISI, a raster GIS software, is used. GIS application with USLE is very efficient to estimate soil loss accurately and fastly. In order to decide value and to find application method of USLE factors, we used existing rainfall erosion index, soil erodibility analysis, slope length, slope steepness, vegetation management and practices, which are rated by GIS through the analysis of various studies related USLE. The result of this study was compared with the previous other researches to verify our method of constructing numerical data of USLE's factors. The result of verification of our way showed significance for the soil loss in forest area. But the result of verification for the soil loss in forest area. But the result of verification for the soil loss of cultivated area showed some errors. It seems that this result was due to local variation of topographical map.
