  • As Internet protocol and wireless communications have developed, the number of different types of mobile services has increased gradually. Existing priority-computing schemes cannot satisfy the dynamic requirements of supporting multiple services in future wireless communication systems, because the currently used factors, mainly user priority, are relatively simple and lack relevancy. To solve this problem and provide the desired complexity, dynamic behavior, and fairness features of 3G and beyond 3G mobile communication systems, this paper proposes a novel cross-layer dynamic integrated priority-computing scheme that computes the priority based on a variety of factors, including quality of service requirements, subscriber call types, waiting time, movement mode, and traffic load from the corresponding layers. It is observed from simulation results that the proposed dynamic integrated priority scheme provides enhanced performance.

  • Applying Application-Level Multicast technology (ALM) to Distributed Interactive Applications (DIAs) becomes more and more popular. Especially for DIAs embedded priority that the sender forwards data to receivers due to their respective priorities. The priority-based directed minimum spanning tree (PST) algorithm was designed for these DIAs. However, the PST has no efficient priority selection and filtering mechanism. The system will consume a tremendous amount of resource for reconstructing distribution tree and becomes unstable and unscalable. In this paper, First, We propose a novel priority-based application level multicast algorithm: Predict-and-Quantize for Priority with directed minimum Spanning Tree (PQPST), which can efficiently predict efficient priorities for the receivers and quantize the predicted priorities to build the multicast distribution tree. Second, we propose Priority Discrepancy Heuristic Mechanism (PDHM), which sets different thresholds of priority discrepancy within the priority discrepancy interval to control the distribution tree construction can efficiently decrease the repeated distribution tree construction, and we get the best heuristic priority discrepancy interval by PQPST. According to the simulation results, the PQPST and PDHM can efficiently improve the performance of the PST algorithm.

  • The input messages in communication network are processed according to their priority. If the messages which are had different types of priority are excessively entered to communication network in such prioruty process, and if high priority messages are continuously entered, the messages which are had law priority are experinenced delay beyond their priority. In this case, we proposed average delay compensation method to compensate contonuous delay in low priority messages.

  • In a competitive environment, selecting and effectively pursing the right information system investments can be a key factor in sustaining corporate viability and prosperity. This study applies quality function deployment(QFD) to the determination of information system development priority. The intent of QFD is to incorporate the needs of a customer through the various stages of product planning and manufacturing into a final product. The basic idea of our study is to translate the core competence and the competitive environment into the business strategy, and the critical success factors, and subsequently into information system development priority. Our method is applied to a motor company for the determination of the information system development priority. The company case is illustrated step by step with real data of the company and motor market.

  • Geographic Information has been used widely for landuse and management, city plan, and environment and disaster management, etc., But geographic information has been built for individual cases using various methods. Therefore, the discordancy in data, double investment, confusion of use and difficulty of decision supporting system have been occurred. In order to solve these problems, national government is need to framework database. This framework database was enacted for building and use of National Geographic Information System and focused on basic plan of the second national geographic information system. Also, the framework database was selected of eight fields by NGIS laws and 19 detailed items through meeting of framework committee since 2002. In this research, The 19 detailed items( road, railroad, coastline, surveying control point etc.,) of framework database consider a Priority order, In the result of this research, the framework database is obtain to a priority order for building and the national government will carry effectively out a budget for the framework database building. Each of 19 detailed items is grouping into using the priority order of the framework database by AHP analysis method and verified items by decision tree analysis method. The one of the highest priority order items is a road, which is important for building, continuous renovation, and maintain management for use.

  • An interesting problem in capacitated supply chains is how to guarantee customer service levels with limited resources. One of the common approaches to solve the problem is differentiating service depending on customer classes. High-priority customers receive a better service at the cost of low-priority customers' service level. One of common criteria to determine a customer's priority in practice is whether he has made a reservation before arrival or not. Customers with a reservation usually receive service based on the time the reservation was made. We examine the effect this advance information of customer arrival has on customer service levels. We show the trade-offs between the leadtime and other system characteristics such as the proportion of high-priority customers. when the service level is high. We also suggest how to differentiate service using the asymptotic ratio of the service levels for both types of customers.

  • Fast IP address lookup in routers is essential to achieve packet forwarding in wire-speed. The longest prefix matching for IP address lookup is more complex than exact matching because of its dual dimensions, length and value. By thoroughly studying the current proposals for IP address lookup, we find out that the binary search could be a low-cost solution while providing high performance. Most of the existing binary search algorithms based on trie have simple data structures which can be easily implemented, but they have some problems because of empty internal nodes. The proposed algorithm is based on trie structure, but empty internal nodes are replaced by priority prefixes. The best-matching-prefix search in the proposed algorithm is more efficiently performed since search can be finished earlier when input is matched with a priority prefix. The performance evaluation results show that the constructed priority-trie has very good performance in the lookup speed and the scalability.

  • Priority MAC is an important issue in every communication system when we consider differentiated service applications. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to support priority MAC based on multi-parameters for IEEE 802.15.7 visible light communication (VLC). By using three parameters such as number of backoff times (NB), backoff exponent (BE) and contention window (CW), we provide priority for multi-level differentiated service applications. We consider beacon-enabled VLC personal area network (VPAN) mode with slotted version for random access algorithm in this paper. Based on a discrete-time Markov chain, we analyze the performance of proposed mechanism under non-saturation environments. By building a Markov chain model for multi-parameters, this paper presents the throughput and transmission delay time for VLC system. Numerical results show that we can apply three parameters to control the priority for VLC MAC protocol.

  • Data mining technology is frequently used in identifying the intention of users over a variety of information contexts. Since relevant terms are mainly hidden in text data, it is necessary to extract them. Quantification is required in order to interpret user preference in association with other structured data. This paper proposes rating and comments mining to identify user priority and obtain improved ratings. Structured data (location and rating) and unstructured data (comments) are collected and priority is derived by analyzing statistics and employing TF-IDF. In addition, the improved ratings are generated by applying priority categories based on materialized ratings through Sentiment-Oriented Point-wise Mutual Information (SO-PMI)-based emotion analysis. In this paper, an experiment was carried out by collecting ratings and comments on "place" and by applying them. We confirmed that the proposed mining method is 1.2 times better than the conventional methods that do not reflect priorities and that the performance is improved to almost 2 times when the number to be predicted is small.
