  • The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a model of firm's IT capability based on IT resources such as IT infrastructure, IT personnel, and IT routine. To do this, the study defined IT capability as a third-order factor model and identified three conceptual dimensions of IT capability: IT infrastructure flexibility, IT personnel expertise, IT resource management capability, IT resource management capability indicates a capacity generated by IT routines, a new IT resource type identified in this study. The validity of the proposed model is evaluated with 243 firm level data using LISREL. The results of confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) demonstrated that the model is highly reliable and valid. Additionally, it was found that IT routines have a high potential as a new IT resource category.

  • Contemporary organizations strive for customer agility through the deployment of digital technologies on customer-focused operations to build enduring customer relationships, with mobile apps being one of its prominent examples. Drawing on prior agility and ECT literature, this study proposes a model to examine customers' view of a firm's customer agility. Our empirical test of conceptual model from data collected in a field study from 128 customers demonstrated that the conceptual model offers good explanation for customers' view of a firm's customer agility through relationships among customer expectations-customer perceived firm's responsiveness-satisfaction. Data were analyzed using PLS, polynomial modeling, and response surface methodology to examine the relationships between customers' digital interactions with the firm, influence of digitized interactions on customer expectations, customers' evaluation of firm's responsiveness, and subsequent customer satisfaction.

  • Recently, information resource management(IRM) has a considerable interest among researchers and practitioners because the information resource have been found critical influence on organizational performance. The IRM construct has been defined a comprehensive approach to planning, organizing, controlling the resources, and activities associated with acquiring and distributing data to meet a business need. This study have several objectives: 1) to operationalize the measurement instrument of IRM, 2) to identify the factors influencing organizational performance, and 3) to suggest the research model between IRM and organizational performance and then 4) to provide reference for managers to assess the IRM implementation in their organization. By reviewing the literature, past experience, others' use, encouragement by others, and anxiety are selected as the factors influencing IRM. The IRM construct has been classified with eight dimensions : chief information officer, planning, security, technology integration, advisory committees, enterprise model, information integration, and data administration. Eight hypotheses concerning the relationship between each of the IRM and organizational performance are suggested in this study.

  • It is important not only to introduce the C4I(Command and Control, Communication, Computer, Intelligence) system for realizing the NCW(Network Centric Warfare) but also to evaluate the synergistic effect by the C4I system. However, the study effort for evaluating the system's synergistic effect is insufficient compared with introducing the system. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a model that measures the synergistic effect of combat power by the warfare information system. To measure the synergistic effect of warfare information system, the network power must be considered, so we also proposed a new methodology for measurement of network power based on SNA(Social Network Analysis), not Metcalfe's law. A model we proposed is a model that measures the raised combat power by the network effectiveness. The methodology and model we proposed in this paper will be used usefully to analyze the practical effect of constructing future warfare information system.

  • Social networking applications (SNAs) are among the fastest growing web applications of recent years. In this paper, we propose a causal model to assess the success of SNAs, grounded on DeLone and McLean's updated information systems (IS) success model. In addition to their original three dimensions of quality, i.e., system quality, information quality and service quality, we propose that a fourth dimension - networking quality - contributes to SNA success. We empirically examined the proposed research model with a survey of 168 Facebook and 149 Twitter users. The data validates the significant role of networking quality in determining the focal SNA's success. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

  • Reliable progress management at construction requires integrated information of cost and schedule, and information is used as a basis for project performance measurement. However, separate handling of cost and schedule information at construction projects makes objective measurement more difficult and decreases management productivity due to additional works for breaking down bill of quantities into corresponding activities. Recently, research related to BIM addresses issues on effective progress management based on BIM with incorporation of daily progress management. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to propose information model for daily progress rate and budgeted cost of work performed by utilizing BTM-based quantity and location information.

  • This paper attempts to study the impact of Financial Literacy on Youth Entrepreneurial Intent in Pakistan. A closed-ended self-administered structured questionnaire covering financial literacy, computer knowledge, financial attitude, and financial knowledge with Entrepreneurial Intent was collected from young entrepreneurs. The research tried to investigate the education level with computer skill to inspect the effect of financial literateness on young generation Entrepreneurial Intent in the context of Pakistan. The research model was tested using PLS-SEM and authenticating a measurement model through the advanced methodology and their association with Entrepreneurial Intent. Results revealed that financial literacy and its two parts (financial attitude and financial knowledge) have a positive impact on Entrepreneurial Intent. The size of the joint impact of financial literacy and its components on Entrepreneurial Intent was assessed to be adequate. Entrepreneurial Intent is essential for creating new firms to maintain economic development. Furthermore, it is determined in this research that if youth has better financial knowledge and financial attitude, the probability of Entrepreneurial Intent increases. This suggests that if the youth in Pakistan desire to attain a higher limit of Entrepreneurial Intent, they must implement financial literacy models for enhancing and promoting their current Entrepreneurial Intent.

  • The purposes of this research were: 1) to investigate the effect of participatory management on financial information asymmetry, 2) to investigate the effect of corporate governance on financial information asymmetry, 3) to examine the influences of benefits incentives on financial information asymmetry, and 4) to test the mediating effects of benefits incentive that influences the relationship between participatory management, corporate governance, and financial information asymmetry. The research sample consisted of 388 Thai-listed firms. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire. Descriptive analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling were used for the data analysis. The results revealed: 1) participatory management and participation in evaluation had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 2) Corporate governance and the rights of shareholders had a negative influence on financial information asymmetry. 3) Benefits incentive was negatively associated with financial information asymmetry. 4) The model's influences of participatory management, corporate governance on the reduction of financial information asymmetry through benefits incentive as mediator fit the empirical data (Chi-square = 104.459, df = 84, p = 0.065, GFI = 0.967, RMSEA = 0.025). The variables in the model explained 78.00% and 4.70 % of the variance of benefits incentive and financial information asymmetry, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a mathematical model of Caprine arthritis encephalitis (CAE), which is a disease causing significant economic damage to the goat farming industry, and reports the application of this model to the development of an information management system of animal quarantine to overcome this disease. The mathematical model of CAE was derived from the AIDs model in human case because epidemical characteristics of these diseases including infection pass are similar. This model can be expressed by simultaneous differential equations. Simulations using a new model were performed according Euler's and Runge-Kutta method using numerical analysis software. In each method, strong convergence was observed and the results were similar. The design of an information management system of animal quarantine was proposed as an application of the new model. System design was constructed on the assumption that in subtropical islands, the expected development of information infrastructure and utilization will become valuable in the future.
