  • A more generalized version of the information inequality based on diffusivity which is a natural measure of dispersion for median-unbiased estimators developed by Sung et al. (1990) is presented. This non-Bayesian L$_{1}$ information inequality is free from regularity conditions and can be regarded as an analogue of the Chapman-Robbins inequality for mean-unbiased estimation. The approach given here, however, deals with a more generalized situation than that of the Chapman-Robbins inequality. We also develop a Bayesian version of the L$_{1}$ information inequality in median-unbiased estimation. This latter inequality is directly comparable to the Bayesian Cramer-Rao bound due to the van Trees inequality.

  • Researches on inequality in Korean society has been sporadically conducted in various areas. In this study, research trend related to inequality was analyzed through basic statistical analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and main path analysis using articles related to inequality from Korea citation index. In basic statistical analysis, key authors, journals, and articles are identified. In co-occurrence analysis, income inequality, educational inequality, welfare inequality, and policy on inequality were identified as main topics. Main path analysis showed two research trends after 2004. One was research trend on economic inequality, and the other was on health inequality and social structural inequality.

  • The 3rd Library Comprehensive Development Plan (2019-2023) of the Committee on Library and Information Policy under IFLA-UN 2030 Agenda emphasize the role of libraries in practicing social inclusion. At home and abroad, this is shedding new light on libraries as the public service institutions aimed at resolving information inequality. This study thus developed the information inequality measurement indicator optimized for libraries. For this purpose, FGI and Delphi technique were implemented as the verification stage of the expert group. As a result, the final indicators were derived in three evaluation areas, twelve evaluation items, and 30 evaluation indicators. Specifically, first, 3 evaluation items and 8 evaluation indicators were derived in the access evaluation area; second, 5 evaluation items and 12 evaluation indicators were derived in the competency evaluation area; and third, 4 evaluation items and 10 evaluation indicators were derived in the utilization evaluation area. This study is considered to be of great significance in that the information inequality measurement indicators optimized for libraries were developed, the first of its kind.

  • The Jensen and Mercer inequalities are very important inequalities in information theory. The article provides the generalization of Mercer's inequality for convex functions on the line segments. This result contains Mercer's inequality as a particular case. Also, we investigate bounds for Shannon's entropy and give some new applications in zeta function and analysis.

  • The study identifies the importance of informational and legislative support in ensuring gender equality. It determines the relevance of gender inequality, the main problem, which is confirmed by research and statistical information. The study aims to determine the methods of collecting information and legal regulation of gender issues and the possibility of solving them by public authorities. The main methods of gathering information are census surveys, questionnaires, surveys on public service websites, work with local communities, surveys in nursing homes and orphanages, special survey programs, and election polls. The paper considers the legal regulation of gender inequalities at the international, state, local and organizational levels. According to the analysis of the problem of gender inequality, it is established that the problem is practically eliminated in many developed countries, while countries with low incomes face gender inequality constantly.

  • This study explores the effects of providing information on the price fairness perception and intention of continuous use in an online fashion platform, given a price difference due to AI algorithm pricing. We investigated the moderating roles of price inequality (loss vs. gain) and technology insecurity. The experiments used four stimuli based on price inequality (loss vs. gain) and information provision (provided or not) on price inequality. We developed a mock website and offered a scenario on the product presentation based on an AI algorithm pricing. Participants in their 20s and 30s were randomly allocated to one of the stimuli. To test the hypotheses, a total of 257 responses were analyzed using Process Macro 3.4. According to the results, price fairness perception mediated between information provision and continuous use intention when consumers saw the price inequality as a gain. When the consumers perceived high technology insecurity, information provision affected the intention of continuous use mediated by price fairness perception.
