Development of Data Model for Design Information Representation of Steel Bridges (강교량 설계정보 표현을 위한 데이터모델 개발)

  • In each industry field, many engineers have tried to develop integrated environments using information technology. The core technology in building integrated environments is the database based on standardized information. To meet the requirements, this study builds a database with detailed design information as a part of integrating digital information generated from every work of steel bridges. The data model used to build the database was developed based on the international standard, namely ISO/STEP. The data model is classified into geometric and non-geometric parts to represent the design information of steel bridges. The geometric parts are represented by a three dimensional solid model so that they may be able to reuse existing information. Also, the non-geometric parts represent information requirements that are analyzed by the development method of standard data model. To verify the data model, this study validates the syntax of the model on EXPRESS Engine and verifies the validation of the model by applying the design data of Hannam bridge to the database.

  • Building information modeling (BIM)-based construction projects have increased and become more varied, and as such the management of BIM-based facility information is also increasingly important for facility maintenance. Information management, and specifically product data mapping, however, has some problems in the area of manual data entry and does not adequately consider the exchange requirements of facility maintenance. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a method to improve the management of composite object information for BIM-based facility maintenance so that it can handle construction operation building information exchange (COBie) data for a composite object. Therefore, we present a method to map COBie data to related materials of a composite object. This research contributes to increasing the efficiency and accuracy of the required information mapping between a building model and product data using a BIM library through optimal BIM data adoption. Moreover, it allows for the creation and management of specific product data at the design development phase.

  • In construction project, it is important to exchange and share the digital information generated by their own professional softwares. So this paper analyzed the information delivery requirements of steel structure according the structural design stages using IDM methodology. For schematic design stage and detailed design stage, the structural design information to share in each design stages is abstracted by defining the PM, ER, and FP. The new ERs and FPs are proposed by defining the new property sets(Psets), suchlike bolt gauge line, weld, scallop, and cope, to complement the structural design information of $IFC2{\times}3$. Finally, the reasonability of the proposed new ERs, FPs are verified by applying them to represent the standard steel connection sample in detailed design stage. As a result, the structural design information of standard steel connection could be stored and managed sufficiently by using the proposed new ERs and FPs.

  • The disabled and elderly people have a wide variety of functional impairments. By disability and elderly user group definition, identification of users needs and specification of content requirements were studied. Existing technologies including location, navigation and information exchange devise and communication systems were analyzed to design proper integrated system for indoor and outdoor uses. There are two types of services considered in the project: assisted living services(ALS) including health and emergency needs and assisted mobility services(AMS) with transportation needs. To develop each content, content identification and requirements was studied through interviews and expert consultations. System requirements and specification using usecase technique for disabled and elderly people are discussed.

  • A distributed missile system is composed of command control center, radar and launcher which exchange information each other to use wire or wireless network. The distributed missile system is required mobility for operational convenience and survivability. Also missile system requests land navigation system to provide relatively accurate attitude. For reason of these requirements, each subsystem needs land navigation which provides information of position and attitude. This paper represents operational concept for land navigation to consider operational environment and concrete operational procedure to apply the operational concept. In state that there is no operation for land navigation of distributed missile system internally so for, this paper could be helped to establish operational concept and procedure of this kind of system.

  • With the proliferation of smart devices, applications under ubiquitous environment must provide transparent access to computer resources. However, existing u-Logistics systems can not properly react on such requirements, because the status information of objects is input only in fixed milestones by system's operators. In this paper, we introduce an event notification service suitable for u-Logistics environment. The system is based on RFID infrastructure and provides real-time tracking by combining the event of objects with location information received from GPS satellites. The system also provides a graphical user interface based on a state/transition approach, making it easy that clients facilitate definition of profile, and uses XML structure to more easily represent and exchange events.

  • This research addresses to establish a systematic approach to design a standard Hangul code system for educational purposes in development of CAI courseware using Korean, English, and Chinese characters, which requires data exchanges and database construction. In this paper, types of Korean alphabetic code systems already in use, their representational environments and consonant/vowel order have been studied and analysed. This paper presents the requirements that the hangul code system for educational purpose needs to obtain. First, it should be able to represent all contemporary as well as ancient Korean alphabets. Second, character elements should be separable. Third, consonant/vowel order should be determined to easily retrieve and exchange data. Lastly, the code should maintain compatibility with other national codes and provide uniqueness of user-defined character codes.

  • Modern Air Traffic Management has been shifted from the conventional vector- based clearances to trajectory based operations (TBO) concept which utilizes four-dimensional trajectory based on the internationally interoperable information using Globally Unique Flight Identifier (GUFI). This study reviews the development for TBO-related standards and Flight Information Exchange Model (FIXM), which has been discussed by the ICAO Air Traffic Management Requirements and Performance Panel (ATMRPP). In addition, plans for the next step with TBO and the Republic of Korea's participation on the Mini-Global Demonstration were also introduced.

  • Nowadays, with the rapid emergence of XML as a standard for data exchange over the Internet had led to considerable interest In the problem of data management requirements such as the need to store and query XML documents in which the location path languages Xpath is of particular important for XML application since it is a core component of many XML processing standards such as XSLT or XQuery, This parer gives a brief overview about method and design by applying a new spatial-based indexing method namely Xp-free that used for supporting Xpath. Spatial indexing technique has been proved its capacity on searching in large databases. Based on accelerating a node using planar as combined with the numbering schema, we devise efficiently derivative algorithms, which are simple, but useful. Besides that, it also allows to trace all Its relative nodes of context node In a manner supporting queries natural to the types especially Xpath queries with predicates.

An efficient Authentication and Key Agreement Protocol in Mobile Systems (이동 시스템에서의 효율적인 인증 및 키 교환 프로토콜)

  • In this paper we propose an efficient authentication and key agreement protocol which has been designed specifically for use with low powered computationally weak equipment such as Cellular phone and PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). Imple-menting the protocol based on the Rabin cryptosystem provides the efficiency requirements for mobile communications including minimum number of passes and low computational lead. The paper outlines the new protocol, examines it s various aspects, and compares them to those representative authentication and key agreement protocols.
