  • Process safety incidents and loss events can be prevented if we identify and adequately take measures on process safety incident precursors in a timely manner. If we look into and take action against the process safety hazard factors causing the incident in the refinery and petrochemical plant, major process safety incidents can be prevented through eliminating or decreasing hazardous factors. We conducted a survey for the major process safety incident precursor to look specifically into the potential process safety hazardous factors of refineries and petrochemical plants in the Yeosu chemical complex. A self-assessment checklist, which was published by Center for Chemical Process Safety "Recognizing catastrophic incident warning signs in the process industry" on major incidents warning sign, was used for the survey. Through this survey, the major process safety incident leading indicators in the process industry were found by process safety management elements, and each site and/or facility can use these leading indicators for activities for process safety incident prevention. In addition, we proposed action items required to eliminate the root cause of those process safety incident leading indicators.

  • This study systematically identified the influence of the school look fashion image on public culture, which is used for increasingly sexualized marketing appeal by domestic Girl Groups. We examined and analyzed the school look fashion image of Girl Groups, focusing on the Lolita complex which is particularly influential in the sexual appeal of domestic popular fashion. The method of this study is based on a literature review from the years 2007 to 2016, when the female girl groups began to receive attention. The music videos of the female girl groups in the top 100 charts of 'Melon' from 2006 to 2-16, which provides the largest mobile music service in Korea, were watched and analyzed as primary data. As a result, it was found that the 'school fashion look image' of adolescence which was used as costumes for Girl Groups, plays a role in commercializing the image of a 'girl', and the types and characteristics of school look fashion image are drawn in two ways. First, it is the image of a seductive Lolita complex. This is the case where young girls wear school look fashion image to emphasize their sexual maturity. Second, it is the case that is using the school look fashion image in order to perform with the 'young girl' concept, as an image of the enchanting Lolita complex; in addition, the erotic body image is more explicitly exposed through choreography and nakedness.

  • Jonah complex is a psychological term put forward by Maslow, a famous American psychologist. In short, "Jonah complex" is the fear of growth. It comes from a hypothesis in psychodynamic theory: "people are not only afraid of failure, but also afraid of success." It represents a kind of psychology of self-evasion and retreat in the face of opportunities. It is an emotional state, which leads us not to do what we can do well, or even to avoid exploring our potential. From the perspective of self-actualization, it is a psychological obstacle to self-actualization. This paper consists of the following parts: the first chapter describes the research background and significance of this paper; the second chapter describes the theoretical basis of this paper; the third chapter explains that the research method of this paper is literature method; the fourth chapter analyzes the reasons for the formation of Jonah complex in detail; the fifth chapter describes how to overcome Jonah complex.

  • Objective: To assess the effects of proteinate complex zinc (PC-Zn) on growth performance, antioxidative function, trace element concentrations and immune function in weaned piglets. Methods: Three hundred newly weaned barrows ($Duroc{\times}Landrace{\times}Yorkshire$), 28 days of age, were randomly allotted to 3 dietary groups of 5 replicate pens per group for 4 weeks of feeding. Experimental diets were: i) zinc deficient diet (ZnD, 24 mg/kg Zn supplementation from $ZnSO_4$), ii) inorganic Zn diet supplemented with 120 mg/kg of Zn from Zn sulfate ($ZnSO_4$), and iii) organic Zn diet supplemented with 120 mg/kg of Zn from PC-Zn. The body weight of pigs were recorded at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of the experiment, and the amount of feed supplied each day was recorded. Five barrows from each dietary treatment group were selected to be anesthetized and euthanized at the end of the trial to determine the Zn, Cu, Fe, and Mn concentrations, the hepatic metallothionein content, the levels of methane dicarboxylic aldehyde (MDA), Mn, and Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in the spleen, the levels of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-10, interferon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$, $CD3^+$, $CD4^+$, and $CD8^+$ T lymphocyte. Results: The accumulation of Zn in the spleen, levels of SOD, GSH-Px, IL-4, IL-10, the proportions of $CD3^+$ and $CD4^+$ T lymphocyte, and the ratio of $CD4^+/CD8^+$ T lymphocyte were increased by organic Zn supplementation compared to ZnD, while the levels of MDA, $IFN-{\gamma}$, and proportion of $CD8^+$ T lymphocyte were lowered. Conclusion: These findings indicate that Zn can improve the antioxidant potential and immune functions of weaned piglets.

  • The tripledecker complexes, bis-(${\eta}^5-cyclopentadienyl)-{\mu}-({\eta}^4-1,2,3,4-tetraalkylcyclobutadiene$)dicobalt were produced by the reaction of Jonas reagent with 2-hexyne and 3-hexyne in the maximum yield (above 50%) when they were reacted in eq-molar amounts at room temperature. A tripledecker complex, bis-${\eta}^5-cyclopentadienyl)-{\mu}-({\eta}^4-1,2,3,4-tetraethyl cyclobutadiene$)dicobalt(13) was isomerized to (${\eta}^5-cyclopentadienyl)cobaltacyclopentadiene-{\mu}-({\eta}^4-2,4-cobaltacyclopentadiene$)(${\eta}^5-cyclopentadienyl$)cobalt(15) on reacting with 3-hexyne at room temperature. Another tripledecker complex, bis-(${\eta}^5-cyclopentadienyl)-{\mu}-({\eta}^4-1,3-dimethyl-2,4-dipropyl cyclobutadiene$)dicobalt(14) was decomposed to give 1,3,5-trimethyl-2,4,6-tripropylbenzene through an intermediate complex by the reaction of 2-hexyne.

  • Escherichia coli is the most preferred microorganism to express heterologous proteins for therapeutic use, as around 30% of the approved therapeutic proteins are currently being produced using it as a host. Owing to its rapid growth, high yield of the product, costeffectiveness, and easy scale-up process, E. coli is an expression host of choice in the biotechnology industry for large-scale production of proteins, particularly non-glycosylated proteins, for therapeutic use. The availability of various E. coli expression vectors and strains, relatively easy protein folding mechanisms, and bioprocess technologies, makes it very attractive for industrial applications. However, the codon usage in E. coli and the absence of post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation, phosphorylation, and proteolytic processing, limit its use for the production of slightly complex recombinant biopharmaceuticals. Several new technological advancements in the E. coli expression system to meet the biotechnology industry requirements have been made, such as novel engineered strains, genetically modifying E. coli to possess capability to glycosylate heterologous proteins and express complex proteins, including full-length glycosylated antibodies. This review summarizes the recent advancements that may further expand the use of the E. coli expression system to produce more complex and also glycosylated proteins for therapeutic use in the future.

  • Korean manufacturing industry have recently faced the catch-up of China in the mass commodity product, such as automotive, display, and smart phone in terms of market as well as technology. Accordingly, discussion on the importance of achieving catch-up in complex product systems (CoPS) has been increasing as a new innovation engine for the industry. In order to achieve successful catch-up of CoPS, we explored emerging technologies of CoPS, which are featured by the characteristics of radical novelty, relatively fast growth and self-sustaining, through the study of emerging technologies of gas turbine for power generation. We found that emerging technologies of the gas turbine are technologies for combustion nozzle and composition of electrical machine for increasing power efficiency, washing technology for particulate matter, cast and material processing technology for enhancing durability from fatigue, cooling technologies from extremely high temperature, interconnection operation technology between renewable energy and the gas turbine for flexibility in power generation, and big data technology for remote monitoring and diagnosis of the gas turbine. We also found that those emerging technologies resulted in technological progress of the gas turbine by converging with other conventional technologies in the gas turbine. It indicates that emerging technologies in CoPS can be appeared on various technological knowledge fields and have complementary relationship with conventional technologies for technology progress of CoPS. It also implies that latecomers need to pursue integrated learning that includes emerging technologies as well as conventional technologies rather than independent learning related to emerging technologies for successful catch-up of CoPS. Our findings provide an important initial theoretical ground for investigating the emerging technologies and their characteristics in CoPS as well as recognizing knowledge management strategy for successful catch-up of latecomers. Our findings also contribute to the policy development of the CoPS from the perspective of innovation strategy and knowledge management.

  • The constituents of deposits on paper machine and holes/spots in paper have been studied by consequently a combination of analytical techniques, such as FTIR, Py-GC-MS, and. EDS. FTIR spectroscopy was used prior to Py-GC-MS and EDS analysis, as preliminary analysis technique. The analysis of organic components were carried out with the use of a pyrolysis unit connected to a GC-MS, and inorganic components in ash were analysed by SEM equipped with an EDS analyzer after pyrolysis at 59$0^{\circ}C$. The deposits on the dryer section were complex pitch, which was the mixture of the organic contents of fatty acid ester and starch, and the inorganic contents of talc, clay, and calcium carbonate. The complex pitch was estimated to come from the coated broke. We knew the deposits on the metering rod of sym-sizer were associated with the interaction of unstable AKD and CaCO$_3$. The compositions of holes or spots varied considerably and were associated with chemical interaction within the system. The holes, spots, and blotches in the finished paper were PE and PP that were streamed out from pulp sources, complex pitch that were caused by the interaction of the different additives in the system, polymer such as flexible PVC that used for the prop of palette, and hot melt as adhesives that came from the inadequate handling of broke. In addition, we identified that poly(caprolactam) which is used for forming fabrics or press felts, could be mixed with the raw materials by accident and results in streak on coating.
