A Study on Characteristics and Correspondence of Men's Back and Chest Types (20대 남성의 등면 및 가슴부위 형태특성과 대응에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the types of men's back and chest through the criteria which represent the characteristic of men's back and chest. We have the following conclusions based on our sample size of 291 men's back and chest. The result of factor analysis concerned with men's back indicates that six factors are extracted and they are consist of 80.6% of total variance. We divide the shape of back into three categories: bent, protrusion of the scapula, and breadth. Each category is divided into subcategories. According to the frequency based on our data entries of 291 men's back, we introduce five new types of men's back. 83.8% of examined men's back belong to one of these five types: (i) 15.5% of protrudent and lordotic type; (ii) 6.5% of flat and lordotic type; (iii) 22.7% of protrudent and normal type; (iv) 34.4% of flat and normal type; (v) 4.8% of flat and bent type. The result of factor analysis related to with men's chest shows that six factors are extracted and they are consist of 76.0% of total variance. We divide the shape of chest into three categories: thickness, breadth, and protrusion of the breast. Each category is divided into subcategories. According to the frequency based on our data entries of 291 men's chest, we introduce four new types of men's chest. 65.0% of examined men's chest belong to one of these four types: (i) 7.2% of full and well-developed type; (ii) 24.1% of full and developed type; (iii) 25.8% of flat and developed type; (iv) 7.9% of flat and under-developed type. In order to consider the shape of the upper body as a whole, the back and the chest types should be corresponded.

Technology and Korea's Competitiveness Analysis through UAV Patent Analysis (UAV 핵심 기술 특허분석을 통한 기술 및 한국의 경쟁력 분석)

  • This paper presents the mega trends of technology and competitiveness analysis results based on patent analysis for establishing effective research and development (R&D) strategy on UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) in the aerial ICT industry. In order to analyze mega trends of UAV technologies, patent analysis is conducted focusing on published/registered patents of Korea, the U.S., Japan, and Europe. We divided the target technologies into 3 main category levels based on the converging technology of UAV and ICT. The 3,433 patents are collected. Patent indicators such as patent activity (PA), cites per patent (CPP), and major market expansion (MME) are extracted for grasping the technology competitiveness and Korea's competitiveness per sub category levels of UAV. We suggest the R&D strategy of each technology areas based on patent analysis results. We analyzed Korea's technology levels, advanced companies' R&D trends, and patent trends through patent information and expected that this paper would be utilized for establishment of R&D strategy of UAV in the future.

A Study on the Application of Clothing and Textiles Education to Industrial Work (의류학 분야 대학교육내용의 산업 실무 활용에 관한 연구 -의류소재 관련 교과목 분석을 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzes the current educational curricula in the field of Clothing and Textiles in order to develop appropriate educational methods and courses. We reviewed the curricula offered by 58 Clothing and Textiles Departments at four-year universities in Korea. We analyzed the educational content of each curriculum by dividing all of the courses offered into eight categories. The analysis was based on the information posted on the universities' Internet websites, and the analysis was performed by using descriptive statistics. The results of this study are as follows: First, the educational courses of the Clothing and Textiles Departments are composed of, 36.2% design, 20.4% production, and 14.5% textile categories. In comparison with the results of a similar study conducted in 1999, emphases on the design, distribution, and marketing categories have increased, while the emphases on the production, apparel material, basic knowledge, and consumption science categories have decreased. Second, in the case of the apparel material category, basic knowledge of materials constituted 18.5%, the largest part of the category. The average number of units offered in the area of apparel materials by the 58 Departments was 17 units per year. The curricula were found to vary by regions of the country. The universities located in the Chungcheong region offer more textile material courses, but the universities in the Capital region offer fewer textile material courses than other regions. Departments that are affiliated with universities that emphasize Art and Design have more courses on basic knowledge, dyeing and finishing, and fabric design than other universities.

  • This study focused on the classification systems of modern architecture and facilities reviewing the characteristics of domestic and foreign cultural heritage classification systems. The results are as follows : (1) It is necessary new classification system for recent emerging architectures and facilities which contains new functions, and reflecting new scope of cultural heritage, in example cultural landscape. (2) Reviewing the related spheres which can produce future cultural heritages such as KDC, Industrial Classification and foreign trends on the cultural heritages, we classified 6 main categories ; Politics & Diplomatics, Industry & Economy, Society & Life, Culture & Art, Technology & Science, Military & Public Safety. (3) Under the main category, we divided sub- and subject-category according usages of objects for reflecting the registered appreciations.

  • In consequence of expansion of internet users, electronic commerce is becoming a new prototype for marketing and sales, arid most of electronic commerce sites or internet shopping malls provide a rich source of information and convenient user interfaces about the organizations customers to maintain their patrons. One of the convenient interfaces for users is service to recommend products. To do this, they must exploit methods to extract and analysis specific patterns from purchasing information, behavior and market basket about customers. The methods are association rules and sequential patterns, which are widely used to extract correlation among products, and in most of on-line electronic commerce sites are executed with users information and purchased history by category-oriented. But these can't represent the diverse correlation among products and also hardly reflect users' buying patterns precisely, since the results are simple set of relations for single purchased pattern. In this paper, we propose an efficient mining technique, which allows for multiple purchased patterns that are category-independent and have relationship among items in the linked structure of single pattern items.

Policing the Border: Is Kitsch Still the Antagonist of Art? (예술과 문화의 영역에 대한 재고 - 문화의 타자 키치, 아직도 예술의 적인가?)

  • Despite continuous efforts to redraw the boundaries between art and culture, the conventional concept of originality has persisted in approaches to the practice of contemporary art. In the discourse of originality, various forms of lesser arts that employ the method of replication have been referred to as kitsch, or "rear-guard," the opposite of avant-garde. This categorization points to the contested issue regarding the oppositional relation between modernism and mass culture. With its easily accessible content and financial affordability, mass culture has become both an irresistible attraction and a most powerful threat to modernism. This threat has instigated a discursive system that has situated mass culture as a cultural other of modernism. Taking the marginalized category of kitsch as the area of contention, this paper examines a discursive repression of kitsch. It analyzes the conceptual framework that defends originality and autonomy in art and, conversely, degrades kitsch as an inferior and dangerous cultural category. Greenberg'S concept of kitsch as a by-product of industrialization evolved into the criticism that advocates the autonomy of art. The Frankfurt School scholars, particularly Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer, practiced comparable cultural critiques. Focusing on mass culture such as film, radio, and television, instead of art works, they critically analyzed the system of mass culture and theorized the negative implications of the ubiquitous presence of kitsch. Some critics, on the other hand, perceived the growth of mass culture as opening possibilities in cultural development. Walter Benjamin and Harold Rosenberg asserted the socio-cultural dynamics of mass culture underlining the potential for continual transformation in reality and in the subject. They acknowledged that technological advances changed the condition of creation and enabled unmediated interactions between media. By scrutinizing conflicting views on kitsch, this paper intends to reassess arts that draw "the forces of the outside."

Priority for Developing Emission Factors and Quantitative Assessment in the Forestry Sector (산림부문의 국가온실가스 배출·흡수계수 개발 필요 우선순위 및 정량평가 방법론)

  • This study aimed to suggest priority for developing emission factor (EF) and to develop the methodology of quantitative assessment of EF in the forestry sector. Based on the stock-difference method, 17 kinds of EFs (27 EFs based on forest types) were required to calculate the carbon emission in the forestry sector. Priority for developing EFs followed the standards, which is a development plan by the government agency, importance of carbon stock for greenhouse gas, and EFs by the species. Currently, the most urgent development of EFs was carbon fraction in biomass and carbon stock in dead wood. Meanwhile, the quantitative assessment of EF consisted of 7 categories (5 categories of compulsory and 2 categories of quality evaluation) and 12 verification factors. Category in compulsory verification consisted of administrative document, determination methodology of emission factors, emission characteristic, accuracy of measurement and analysis, and data representative. Category in quality evaluation consisted of data management and uncertainty estimates. Based on the importance of factors in the verification process, each factor was scored separately, however, the score needs to be coordinated by the government agency. These results would help build a reliable and accurate greenhouse gas inventory report of Korea.

The Characteristics of semantic association task performance in elderly with subjective memory impairment and mild cognitive impairment (주관적 기억장애 및 경도인지장애 노인의 의미연상과제 수행 특성)

  • The loss of semantic knowledge and impairments in semantic associations by semantic category is gaining increasing attention, as indicators of early-stage cognitive decline. As such, we assigned semantic association task (SAT) to normal elderly (NE) and those with subjective memory impairment (SMI) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to examine their performance by semantic subcategories and the differences in error patterns. We found a significant difference in the number of correct response and reaction time under the SAT categories among the three groups, with the highest performance observed in 'function' and the lowest performance in 'superordinate' and 'part/whole'. Moreover, the error frequency was the lowest in NE, followed by those with SMI and MCI, with the latter two groups showing a significant increase in no-response. Our findings demonstrate the varying extent and process of impairments in the semantic network by category over different stages of cognitive decline. Thus, we proposed SAT performance as an indicator to detect and follow-up on cognitive decline in elderly with cognitive disorder.

Veganism Represented in YouTube Fashion Contents (유튜브 패션 콘텐츠에 나타나는 비거니즘)

  • This study analyzes the fashion video content of vegan YouTubers in order to understand how the vegan message is being conveyed in media. This study collected data with NoxInfluencer and conducted a case study of the vegan fashion YouTube content. We collected 143 videos for analysis as follows. The characteristics of vegan fashion content were divided into six categories. First, fashion know-how consisted of YouTubers' explanation on vegan fashion, from styling to where to buy vegan and fair trade products. Second, fashion haul content showed second hand products as well as certified vegan fashion products. Third, fashion daily life focused on a day in the life of a vegan YouTuber, casually showcasing fashion in real life. Fourth, fashion products reviews were about vegan YouTubers' thoughts and concerns about various vegan fashion brands and products. Fifth, fashion coordination category consisted of Lookbooks according to seasons. Last, the fashion entertainment category showed YouTubers challenging themselves to dress outside of their comfort zone. The content of the message was distinguished by consumption methods and aesthetic interaction. Also, vegan YouTubers were always anticipating the possibility of appealing to a wider demographic. This study differs from existing studies because it analyzed fashion YouTube content in order to understand the spread of a vegan message in the media environment. This study has its significance in suggesting the direction that the vegan community should take in delivering vegan messages in the future.

Influence of product category and features on fashion recommendation service algorithm (패션 추천서비스 알고리즘에서 상품유형과 속성 조합의 영향)

  • The online fashion market in the 21st century has shown rapid growth. Against this backdrop, using consumer activity data to provide customized customer services has emerged as a viable business model that draws attention. Algorithm-based personalized recommendation services are a good example. But their application in fashion products has clear limitations. It is not easy to identify consumers' perceptions of the attributes of fashion, which are various, hard to define, and very sensitive to trends. So there is a need to compile data on consumers' underlying awareness and to carry out defined research to increase the utilization of such services in the fashion industry and further engage consumers. This research aims to classify the attributes and types of fashion products and to identify consumers' perceptions of a given situation where a recommendation service is offered. To find out consumers' perceptions of and satisfaction with recommendation services, an online and mobile survey was conducted on women in their 20s and 30s, a group that uses recommendation services frequently. A total of 455 responses were used for analysis. SPSS 28.0 was used, combined with Conjoint Analysis and multiple regression, to analyze data. The study results could provide insights into a better understanding of recommendation services and be used as basic data for companies to identify consumers' preferences and draw up a detailed strategy for market segmentation.
