Teacher's Recognition and Needs about STEAM Education in Specialized High Schools for Technical fields (공업계열 특성화고 교사의 STEAM 교육에 대한 인식과 요구도)

  • This study is to analyze teacher's recognition and needs of STEAM education in specialized high schools for technical fields. For this study, survey using questionnaire was applied to teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. This study includes the recognition and the needs on STEAM education of general and industrial subject teachers in specialized high schools for technical fields. In order to carry on this study, 655 questionnaires were collected from teachers of 16 specialized high schools for technical fields in the whole country. Practically, 611 questionnaires (257 of normal subject teachers and 398 of industrial subject teachers) were used for this study. As a result, it is known that the needs of STEAM education is larger to industrial subject teachers than general subject teachers. But it is disclosed that STEAM education is more difficult to general subject teachers than industrial subject teachers. In requirements of teaching-learning, general subject teachers only required reference materials, but industrial subject teachers needed STEAM lesson under the same subjects and data sharing system as a priority. General and industrial subject teachers also considered education program development for creative thinking skills and problem solving abilities as a priority. Finally, in the administrative and financial requirement, both of them demand to reduce administrative tasks as a priority.

Variables Associated with School-Related Adjustment of Technical High School Students (공업계 고등학교 학생들의 학교생활 적응과 관련 변인)

  • The purposes of this study were to measure the school-related adjustment level of technical high school students, and to determine the relationship between school-related adjustment and its related variables. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 553 completed questionnaires from purposive sample of 600 first grade technical high school students. A survey questionnaire was developed by researcher, which consisted of 28 scales. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, school-related adjustment level of technical high school students was average. In sub-variables of school-related adjustment, 'compliance with the rule' was the highest, and 'relation to teacher' was the lowest. Second, five related variables were found to be a significant relationship with school-related adjustment level of technical high school students. They were 'orientation for freshman', 'student's department hope', 'teacher activity for student learning improvement', 'teacher support for student school life', 'parent's interest about school life'. Third, after multiple regression analysis, the proportion of the variance in school-related adjustment of technical high school students was about 42.2%. School-related adjustment of technical high school students was most explained by 'teacher activity for student learning improvement'.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze current recruiting examination and to categorize and construct test item that assess a variety of Mechanic Metal teachers in technical high school for appointing new Mechanic Metal teacher. The future developmental directions in this study are as follows: First, the examination for appointing secondary school new Mechanic Metal Teacher reflects the curriculum of the teacher education and technical high school, must be nomalize. Second, the rational readjustment of the basic necessary subjects for Machinery Metal recruiting examination is required. Third, the Mechanic Metal recruiting examination must prepare the criteria for the domain ratio of presenting problems and improve with level of presenting the question items which demands a knowledge, application and critical thinking. Fourth, in order to avoid the bias of the some subject tendency with committee making questions of different domain, more participation of a committee making questions is required. Fifth, the practical evaluation must be executed by the effective method to be able to make up for the limit of paper and pencil tests Sixth, as the long-term prospect to secure the professionalism of teacher, the recruiting examination of teachers must be carried out with the Machinery and Metal subject, respectively.

  • Novel palladium(II) complexes of the type Pd(IBA-NH)(IBA-NH') and Pd(IBA-NR)2, where IBA-NH and IBA-NR (R: methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, n-butyl, benzyl) represent isonitrosobenzoylacetone imine and its N-alkyl derivatives respectively, have been prepared. The ir, nmr, and electronic spectra of the palladium(Ⅱ) complexes have been studied. It has been determined that the isonitroso group of IBA-NH coordinates to palladium through the oxygen to form 6-membered chelate ring and that of IBA-NH' coordinates to palladium through the nitrogen to form 5-membered ring in square-planar Pd(IBA-NH)(IBA-NH') and it also has been determined that the isonitroso groups of two IBA-NR coordinates to palladium through the nitrogen to form 5-membered rings in square-planar Pd$(IBA-NR)_2$. The coordination manner of the ligands is similar to that of isonitrosoacetylacetone imines obtained by Bose, et $al.^5$.

A Study of the Consciousness and Practice of Life Environment of Middle School Teacher (중등 교사의 생활환경에 대한 의식 및 실천)

  • The purpose of this study is to tender as the basic data for practice of environment on the consciousness and practice of life environment on technical teacher in middle school and colleage students. For this purpose, the data were collected by using questionnaire distributed to 102 technical teacher in middle school and 103 male colleage students in Jan. and Aug., 2000. The major findings of this research are as follows; 1. It was found that the teachers had consciousness in industrial environment pollution but the students has the causes of house or car. All of the subjects set to the environment information through T.V. programs and the efficacy is highest. Also the teachers set to the environment information through environmental organization and books. The teachers had concern of high level and higher than the students on the life environment. Specially the awareness of life environment was upper to the average and higher than students. 2. The assessments of the earth life environment was 69.17(M), the oceanic environment was highest and water environment was lower. The assessments of the Korea life environment was 60.67(M) were lower than the assessments of the earth life environment, all items were lower than earth lie environment. Generally leachers has positive assessments to earth and Korea life environment than male students. 3. The teachers have high practice apparence on the life environment than the students. Also the teachers had upper to the average on the practice degree, and the practice degree lower than practice awarences. But all items on practices degree was higher than student's.

  • In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, improving computational thinking to solve problems by smoothly operating and utilizing software. Therefore, the ministry of education has introduced systematic SW education into public education as a revised 2015 curriculum with the aim of raising computational thinking. In order for SW education to be systematically stabilized at the school site, the teaching ability of the teacher must be supported above all. For this purpose, the government is promoting 'SWEET' for improvement of the elementary pre-service teachers' SW education program. However, even if the policy is pursued, there is a tendency to take measures to improve the teaching and learning methods in the field later, and since the subject of change in education is the teacher, it is necessary to grasp the reco-gnition, experience of teachers. This study analyzed qualitatively perception and experience of elementary pre-service teachers about SW education and suggested design guidelines for pre-service teacher training such as providing various learning examples.

A Study on the Teacher's perception in Vocational High School for the Subject of NCS-based Metal Machining (NCS기반 절삭가공 실무과목 수업에 대한 특성화고 기계계열 교사의 인식)

  • The Ministry of Education has been quick to apply National Competency Standars (NCS) to industrial sites and educational·training institutions in order to resolve discrepancies between practical affairs in industrial sites and vocational education, training & requirements. Full implementation of NCS-based curriculum in vocational education of vocational high schools has been mandatory since 2018. This research used a region-stratified sample of 350 from teachers in 'machinery' and 'machine·metal' majors in mechanical departments of vocational high schools to investigate the awareness of practical courses for metal machining among the teachers. The research results are as follows. First, a majority of the respondents indicated the availability of turning process, milling process, computer integrated manufacturing and measuring courses in mechanical departments. Second, capabilities required by the industry are considered most in selecting practical courses and competence units. Third, positive changes with the introduction of practical courses in the school education are students' practical skills improvement and satisfaction of industrial requirements. Fourth, negative changes with the introduction of practical courses in the school education are too difficult learning modules used in practical courses for students and students' difficulty in learning because of the difference between equipment in schools and industrial equipment in learning modules. Fifth, teachers' satisfaction with practical courses classes and overall conditions is above the average, and their satisfaction with the level of practical courses and bookbinding or purchase of rearranged textbooks of practical courses is below the average. Therefore, application conditions of above-mentioned representative 4 practical courses should be examined and taken care of for consistent improvement to stabilize NCS-based educational courses in mechanical departments.

A Research on Meaning of Conflict Experience in Cooperative Learning Activity of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers (예비유아교사의 협동학습에서의 갈등경험 의미 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the meaning of conflict experience in cooperative learning activities of pre-service early childhood teachers. The subjects were 85 pre-service early childhood teachers in W university. The data were collected through unstructured interviews and journal writings of the participants. The study results were as follow. First, pre-service early childhood teacher's conflict experiences in cooperative activity are team meeting, fair participation and evaluation, and conflict of the personal relations. Second, pre-service early childhood teacher's conflict resolution experiences in cooperative activity are autonomy of the team meeting time, reflective thinking, sentimental support, recognition of others, and solving problems by the time spending together. Third, the meanings of conflict experience in cooperative activity are formation of felt responsibility, self-growth through consideration of others, reciprocity, and recognition of the meaning of cooperation.

  • This study is to examine how media education is recognized and used in the field of early childhood education. For this, it analyzed awareness and problems of media education by kindergarten teachers and parents and set the following research questions to find out a new alternative of media education for children. First, what are differences in concerns and educational experiences on media education for children by teacher-parents? Second, what are differences in teaching-learning methods on media education for children recognized by teachers-parents? Third, the present study examined problems and effective improvement methods of media education for children with 250 teachers in the field of early childhood education and 250 parents and obtained the following conclusions. The teaching-learning method preferred most by teachers and parents was talking activity and as a result of asking the preferred type of group, it was found that teachers-parents answered small group activity was most ideal and what are to be improved in the media education for children included the extension of teachers' opportunities to have research training and non-establishment of the genral theory of media education in our whole society.

Influence of nursing teacher's infant right perception on infant care service (보육교사의 영유아 권리에 대한 인식이 보육서비스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the present study was to verify the relationship between the nursing teachers' perception of infant rights and infant care service. The scale for infant rights consisted of 40 items based on the U.N. convention on the rights of the child and infant care service was measured with 40 items regarding respect of daily life, respect of autonomy, respect of opinion, respect of individualism, and provision of information. The study participants were 489 nursing teachers working at child care centers. According to the nursing teachers' perception of infant rights, the right of survival was highest, followed by the right of protection, the right of development, and the right of participation. The main study results showed that the rights of development and participation were meaningful in predicting various infant care services, but the right of survival was not. This study implies that the difference of nursing teachers' perception on the various types of different infant rights can affect various infant care services.
