A Study on Model of Regional Logistics Requirements Prediction

  • It is extremely important to predict the logistics requirements in a scientific and rational way. However, in recent years, the improvement effect on the prediction method is not very significant and the traditional statistical prediction method has the defects of low precision and poor interpretation of the prediction model, which cannot only guarantee the generalization ability of the prediction model theoretically, but also cannot explain the models effectively. Therefore, in combination with the theories of the spatial economics, industrial economics, and neo-classical economics, taking city of Erdos as the research object, the study identifies the leading industry that can produce a large number of cargoes, and further predicts the static logistics generation of the Erdos and hinterlands. By integrating various factors that can affect the regional logistics requirements, this study established a logistics requirements potential model from the aspect of spatial economic principles, and expanded the way of logistics requirements prediction from the single statistical principles to an new area of special and regional economics.

Deployment of Yard Cranes Considering Storage Plans in Container Terminals (컨테이너 터미널에서 장치계획을 고려한 야드 크레인 배치 문제)

  • The main function of a container terminal is to load container freights into vessels and discharge them from vessels. The container terminal needs to utilize its resources effectively in order to improve the productivity of it. This study deals with the deployment model for yard cranes whose type is RMGC (rail mounted gantry crane). We develop a mathematical model for the deployment of yard cranes. The model considers not only the deployment but also the storage plans. It could be divided into two cases according to whether inter-block movements of yard cranes are allowed or not, during the same period Numerical examples are solved and analyzed to validate the model. Then, additional experiments are performed to compare the performance of the model with that of a previous model without the re-deployment of yard cranes.

A Study on Improving the Efficiency of Logistics Networks in Express Package Deliveries

  • The market competition of express package deliveries in Korea is severe because a large number of companies have entered into the market. This study thus suggests an approach to the reconfiguration of express service networks with respect to the strategy partnership of closing/keeping service centers among companies involved and the adjustments of their cutoff times. For this we propose an integer programming model and a genetic algorithm based solution procedure for allowing companies involved to maximize their incremental profit. An illustrative numerical example is presented to demonstrate the practicality and efficiency of the proposed model.

  • Research for the synthesis of high-temperature polymers by the photochemical method has been carrying out. The use of cheap and available compounds (viz. benzene, its alkyl, aryl and halogen substitutes, furan and maleic anhydride) subject to ultra violet irradiation resulted in a single stage quantitative yield of about 40 new polymers: polyimide films, enamel insulation, molding materials. At present experimental & industrial lots of wire have been produced. Polymer insulation possesses temperature exploitation range (from -l00$^{\circ}C$ to +300$^{\circ}C$ ) without significant changing of properties. As a result, new polyimide lacquers for production of a wide number of technical articles, such as polyimide films, fibres, enamel-wires, press-materials have been synthesized. An application field of the polyimides in membrane technology, printing plate and optic electronics manufactures has been outlined.

  • 본 연구은 해석적인 접근을 통하여 소형엔진 흡기포트 설계인자의 변화에 따른 유량계수를 고찰하였다. 기존모델을 Valve Lift별 유량계수들을 해석하였으며 그 중 유량계수가 일정해지는 구간의 Valve Lift를 기준으로 설계인자 변화에 따른 성능해석을 수행하였다. 결론적으로, 흡기포트 유량계수를 결정하는 중요한 인자는 포트각도와 유선형상임을 확인하였고 이들 값의 최적화를 수행하였다. 흡기포트의 유량계수를 결정하는 설계인자로는 포트각도, 흡기포트의 유선형상, Port Height_Guide, Flange 면적이 있다. 포트각도의 상승이 유량계수를 상승시키지만 그에 따른 굴절 및 Dead Volume의 발생으로 오히려 유량계수 측면에서는 불리한 조건이 되기도 한다. 급격한 형상변화 부분에서 박리현상이 발생되는데 이에 유동을 위한 곡률을 적용하여 급격한 형상변화를 줄여 박리형상을 감쇄시키고, Dead Volume 삭제하여 원활한 유동특성을 만들 수 있다.

A POLLED DISPATCHING STRATEGY FOR AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLES IN PORT CONTAINER TERMINALS

  • It is discussed how to assign delivery tasks to automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for multiple container cranes in automated container terminals. The primary goal of dispatching AGVs is to complete all the lading and discharging operations as early as possible, and the secondary goal is to minimize the total travel distance of AGVs. It is assumed that AGVs are not dedicated to a specific container crane but shared among multiple cranes. A mathematical formulation is developed and a heuristic algorithm is suggested to obtain a near optimal solution with a reasonable amount of computational time. The single-cycle and the dual-cycle operations in both the seaside and the landside operations are analyzed. The effects of pooling AGVs for multiple container cranes on the performance of an entire AGV system are also analyze through a numerical experiment.

  • In this study, to investigate the effect of process variables such as reduction in area, semi-die angle and the rectangular ratio to the corner filling which influences the dimensional accuracy of the final product in the drawing of the cluadrangle rod from a round bar, it has been simulated by three dimensional rigid-plastic finite element method. In order to reduce the number of simulation artificial neural network has been introduced. Also, through the experimental investigation, the present results have been implemented on the industrial product. In results, the main process variable is the combination of the semi-die angle in case of the irregular shaped drawing process and reduction in area in the event of regular shaped drawing process, respectively.

  • A decision support system is introduced for the efficient operation of port container terminals. It consists of ship planning subsystem, yard planning subsystem, resource management subsystem, real-time control subsystem, and simulation subsystem. The system is intended to support the planning process of the planners and the operation process of the administrators in the container terminals. It is assumed that the transfer cranes and the yard tractor/trailers are used to handle containers in the marshaling yard. The system is explained in terms of the functions of each subsystem and the data flows among various subsystems.

  • Electromagnetic wave absorbers with sheet type have been fabricated and their absorption properties are measured. The absorbtion properties of the fabricated ferrite absorbers were improved with decreasing the particle size in the frequency range of 2.4~3.2 GHz.

A New Ship Scheduling Set Packing Model Considering Limited Risk

  • In this paper, we propose a new ship scheduling set packing model considering limited risk or variance. The set packing model is used in many applications, such as vehicle routing, crew scheduling, ship scheduling, cutting stock and so on. As long as the ship scheduling is concerned, there exits many unknown external factors such as machine breakdown, climate change and transportation cost fluctuation. However, existing ship scheduling models have not considered those factors apparently. We use a quadratic set packing model to limit the variance of expected cost of ship scheduling problems under stochastic spot rates. Set problems are NP-complete, and additional quadratic constraint makes the problems much harder. We implement Kelley's cutting plane method to replace the hard quadratic constraint by many linear constrains and use branch-and-bound algorithm to get the optimal integral solution. Some meaningful computational results and comments are provided.
