Hotel Reservation Service, Customer Expectations, Brand Attachment, and Brand Loyalty: Effects of Package Product Reservation

  • Purpose - This study examines various reservation service components that would increase customers' brand attachment and loyalty, while discussing how reservation service components would affect the customer behaviors. Research design, data, and methodology - This study theoretically analyzed the hotel package product reservation system, the customer expectations, the brand attachment, and the brand loyalty, while reviewing previous studies. Results - This study analyzed the distribution channels of the hotel package products from various angles and, as for more extensive research, the study explained the different results caused by each different reservation system type that may be preferred by each individual customer. Conclusions - It was confirmed that, of the hotel reservation service components, the convenience factors, the reliability factors, the information factors, and the other factors other than the human factors, have a significant influence on the customer expectations. Further, the study also revealed that the customer expectation has an important effect on the brand attachment. In addition, the study improved the prevailing understanding on the relation between the brand attachment and the brand loyalty.

상표충성 소비자의 상표관계본질과 상표충성성향 (Brand Relationship Quality of Brand Loyal Fashion Consumers and Their Loyalty Orientation)

  • The purpose of this study is 1) to develop and validate the BRQ construct perceived by brand loyal consumers, 2) to evaluate the predictive capacity of the individual BRQ dimension and brand relationship benefit on consumers' relationship intention, and 3) to identify the distinctive loyalty orientation based on the concept of BRQ. Questionnaire data from 379 brand loyal consumers on BRQ, brand relationship benefit, relationship intention, and their brand loyal behavior pattern were analyzed. The results showed that brand loyal consumers' BRQ composed of 3 dimensions including 'compensational bind', 'self attachment', and 'trust'. In addition, the mediating role of BRQ in predicting consumers' loyal relationship intention was validated using the structural equation model. Regarding the effect of each BRQ dimension on loyal relationship intention, consumers' intention to be loyal to an apparel brand was more explained by self attachment than the other dimensions. This study also intended to provide a useful direction to apparel brands in finding out which relationship quality type is more effective for differentiated marketing strategies by comparing the BRQ of single-brand loyal consumers and that of multi-brand loyal consumers.

브랜드 선호에 따라 제휴 로열티 프로그램 가입이 가맹점 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Joining Coalition Loyalty Program : How the Brand affects Brand Loyalty Based on Brand Preference)

  • 제휴 로열티 프로그램(coalition loyalty program; 이하 CLP라고 한다)이란 하나의 로열티 프로그램 안에 다수의 제휴 기업들이 참여하며, 이들과 독립된 (로열티 프로그램 운영)기업이 관리하는 로열티 프로그램으로 정의된다(Blattberg 등 2008). 본 연구의 목적은 고객의 브랜드에 대한 사전 선호 수준에 따라, CLP가 고객 충성도를 증가시키는 원인과 제휴 네트워크 안의 주체 간 인식의 전이에 차이가 있을 것임을 밝히는 데에 있다. 고객 충성도의 동기는 전환장벽(switching barrier) 관점(Balabanis 등 2006; Colgate와 Lang 2001; Jones 등 2000)에 따라 자발적인 이유(브랜드 매력도)와 비자발적 이유 (브랜드 전환비용)로 설명하였다. CLP안에서 브랜드(비선호)-CLP-브랜드(선호)간 전이효과(spillover effect)는 인지적 일관성(Aaker과 Keller 1990; Hamilton 등 1989)과 정보 통합 이론(Anderson 1981; Simon과 Ruth 1998)을 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음 세 가지로 학문적 실무적 의의를 갖는다. 첫째, 브랜드에 대한 사전 태도에 따라 정보처리 경향이 달라진다는 소비자 행동 연구의 견해를 CLP 제휴 상황에서 검증하였다. 고객은 브랜드 선호가 높을수록 자발적 동기를 강화하고, 반대의 경우 비자발적 동기를 강화한다. 둘째, 브랜드에 대한 사전 태도가 해당 브랜드와 연관된 주체 간 인식 전이에 긍정적 조절효과를 함을 검증하였다. 즉 선호 브랜드와 어떤 주체가 연관될 때(비선호 브랜드와 연관된 경우에 비해) 인식의 전이가 더 많이 발생한다. 셋째, 기업이 CLP가입에 대한 전략적 선택을 할 때 마케팅 목적에 따라 고려해야할 사항이 달라진다. 기업의 목적이 충성고객의 유지라면, 로열티 프로그램 자체의 보상 방식과 활용 방식 등이 고려되어야한다. 하지만 목적이 비충성고객의 확보라면, 유명 브랜드의 제휴 여부를 따져야 한다. 또한 기업은 CLP의 효과(브랜드 충성도)에 안주할 것이 아니라 그 원인을 알아야 하는데, 비선호 브랜드처럼 비자발적 동기 강화에 따른 충성도 증가는 장기적으로 바람직하지 못하다는 견해가 있다(Egans 2001).

브랜드 인식, 브랜드 충성 및 구매의도에 대한 소비자의 독특성 욕구와 의복관심의 영향 - 최적모형 구축을 중심으로 - (Consumers' Need for Uniqueness and Clothing Interest's Effects on Brand Consciousness, Brand Loyalty and Purchase Intention - To Select the Best Model of Constructs -)

  • Consumers' need for uniqueness reflects individual differences in counterconformity and related to the attitude toward brands as well as purchase behavior. To understand the relationship between consumer's personal characteristics and purchase behavior, the study investigated the effect of consumers' need for uniqueness and clothing interest on the brand consciousness, loyalty and purchase intention. Survey was utilized to collect the data and subjects were 271 college students. Measures consisted of five main constructs: Consumer's need for uniqueness, clothing interest, brand consciousness, brand loyalty, and purchase intention. The measurement and structural models were evaluated using PRELIS 2 and LISREL 8.53. Consumer's need for uniqueness was confirmed to have three constructs: creative, unpopular, and avoidance. The researcher tested Model 1 and developed five other models-Models 2 through 6-based on the results from Model 1 evaluation. The additional Models 2 through 6 were nested in Model 1. To select a best model, the researcher compared the value of chi-square, RMSEA, GFI, AIC, and ECVI. Since Model 6 also illustrated conceptually or theoretically reasonable relationships among constructs as well, it was finally selected as a best model. In the Model 6, the creative dimension of consumer's need for uniqueness had a negative relationship with brand loyalty, while the avoidance dimension of consumer's need for uniqueness had positive relationship. The unpopular dimension of consumer's need for uniqueness and clothing interest had significant positive effects on the brand consciousness. The brand consciousness was significantly related to brand loyalty and brand loyalty to purchase intention.

중국 영유아의류 브랜드의 온라인 체험 마케팅과 브랜드 충성도가 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Online Experience Marketing and Brand Loyalty of Chinese Infant Clothing Brands on Purchase Intention)

  • The online shopping industry in China has experienced rapid growth, particularly in the infant goods sector, which is considered highly promising in terms of its growth potential. This growth can be attributed to the Chinese market's increasing economic power, the implementation of new policies concerning marriage and childbirth, changes in family structure, and evolving and diverse consumer demands for infant products. While the infant clothing industry has emerged as a significant player in the Chinese market, there is still a lack of sufficient academic research on the online shopping environment specific to China's infant clothing industry. The objective of this study was to explore the influence of online experiential marketing on brand loyalty and purchase intention among Chinese consumers of children's wear. The study findings indicated that the emotional experience, action experience, and relationship experience encountered by consumers during online interactions had a positive and significant impact on brand loyalty. Both perceptual experience and cognitive experience had a positive and significant influence on consumers' willingness to make a purchase. The study also revealed that brand loyalty had a positive and significant effect on consumers' purchase intention. The perception of online experiential marketing, brand loyalty, and purchase intention varied based on individual attributes, and gender was found to moderate the relationship between online experiential marketing and brand loyalty.

  • Until now, research on consumers' purchasing behavior has primarily focused on psychological aspects or depended on consumer surveys. However, there may be a gap between consumers' self-reported perceptions and their observable actions. In response, this study aimed to investigate consumer purchasing behavior utilizing a big data approach. To this end, this study investigated the purchasing patterns of fashion items, both online and in retail stores, from a data-driven perspective. We also investigated whether individual consumers switched between online websites and retail establishments for making purchases. Data on 516,474 purchases were obtained from fashion companies. We used association rule analysis and K-means clustering to identify purchase patterns that were influenced by customer loyalty. Furthermore, sequential pattern analysis was applied to investigate the usage patterns of online and offline channels by consumers. The results showed that high-loyalty consumers mainly purchased infrequently bought items in the brand line, as well as high-priced items, and that these purchase patterns were similar both online and in stores. In contrast, the low-loyalty group showed different purchasing behaviors for online versus in-store purchases. In physical environments, the low-loyalty consumers tended to purchase less popular or more expensive items from the brand line, whereas in online environments, their purchases centered around items with relatively high sales volumes. Finally, we found that both high and low loyalty groups exclusively used a single preferred channel, either online or in-store. The findings help companies better understand consumer purchase patterns and build future marketing strategies around items with high brand centrality.

An Integrated Framework of Customer-based Brand Equity and Theory of Planned Behavior: A Meta-analysis Approach

  • The objectives of this study are (1) to review previous studies in the context of brand management in consumer behaviors using costumer based brand equity (CBBE) and theory of planned behavior (TPB) as the basic foundation of the study; and (2) to develop a comprehensive research model by integrating relevant research constructs using meta-analysis. This study reviewed a total 173 studies from 58 published papers with 40 journals during 1991~2014 and developed a comprehensive framework with 16 research hypotheses. The results showed that (1) brand image, brand personality, brand association, and subjective norm are the important antecedents of brand attitudes; (2) brand awareness, brand trust, perceived quality, and perceived behavioral control are the important antecedents of brand loyalty; (3) brand attitude positively influences brand loyalty, which further influences brand equity; and (4) brand equity positively influences behavioral intention. This study fills in the research gap by integrating more research variables into CBBE model, particularly to include the influence of social context on consumer behavior through TPB. These results indicated that the integration between CBBE and TPB is meaningful and the comprehensive model can explain more variances than that of the individual model. Limitations, and recommendations for future research in this area are provided.

의복관여차원에 따른 상표충성도에 관한연구(남, 여 대학생을 중심으로) (A Study on the Clothing Involvement and Brand Loyalty(The Case of Male and Female College Students))

  • The purpose of this study was to classified the dimension of clothing involvement and the clothing loyalty of 256 male and 271 female college students in Taegu area. data was analyzed by frequency percentage mean factor analysis reliability test validity test correlation and ANOVA by using SPSS/pc. The results of this study were as follows; 1. the dimension of clothing involvement was classified into four factors such as clothing interest dimension clothing symbolism dimension clothing economics dimension and clothing individuality dimension. 2. In the relationship between brand loyalty and four factors of clothing involvement there was positive appearance involvement there was positive appearance in clothing interest clothing symbolism and clothing individuality with brand loyalty but negative appearance in clothing economics. The correlation between clothing interest dimension and clothing symbolism dimension clothing interest dimension and clothing individuality dimension clothing symbolism dimension and clothing economics dimension clothing symbolism dimension and clothing individuality dimension was positive. And there was no relation between clothing economics dimension and clothing individuality dimension clothing economics dimension and clothing interest dimension. 3. According to individual character females than males the group aged 18 to 20 and 24 to 27 than the group aged 21 to 23 showed more active tendency to the clothing involvement dimension and also highertendency to brand loyalty. The students with a major in humanities science than the students with a major in natural science and more expending consumers on clothes showed more active tendency to the clothing symbolism dimension and higher tendency to brand loyalty. 4. On the whole the attitude of consumers on clothes was very high in the clothing interest dimension common in the clothing individuality dimension and very low in the clothing economics dimension.

  • 본 연구는 상표자산의 구성요소에 대한 선행요인을 분석하고 이를 토대로 하여 상표자산 구성요소와 상표자산 영향요인간의 관계 그리고 상표자산 구성요소와 구매의도간의 관계를 규명하고 한국과 영국을 중심으로 비교하여 상표자산관리 방안을 도출해보고자 하였다. 연구결과, 정보탐색은 제품지식에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 상표태도와 상표지식은 상표 충성도와 상표 가치에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 상표충성도와 상표가치는 구매의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 정보원천의 경우, 한국에서는 제품지식에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있는 반면, 영국에서는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

브랜드 글로벌성이 브랜드 신뢰도와 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 소비자 문화지능의 조절효과를 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Brand Globalness on Brand Trust and Brand Loyalty: Focusing on the Moderating Effects of Consumers' Cultural Intelligence)

  • 본 연구에서는 글로벌 브랜드 전략의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 브랜드 글로벌성과 소비자의 브랜드 태도 및 구매행동 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 구체적으로 브랜드 글로벌성이 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향에 있어 브랜드 신뢰도의 매개역할을 분석하였다. 특히 이 과정에서 브랜드 신뢰도 유형을 브랜드 가치를 따지는 신용도와 감정적 측면이 반영되는 호감도로 분류하여 분석하였다. 또한 브랜드 글로벌성에 대한 소비자의 태도는 소비자 개인 특성에 따라 달라질 수 있으므로 소비자의 문화지능의 조절효과도 분석하였다. 총 207명의 대학생 소비자 집단을 대상으로 분석한 결과 예상했던 대로 특정 브랜드에 대해 글로벌성이 높다고 인식하는 소비자 집단일수록 해당 브랜드에 대해 더 높은 신용도와 호감도를 보이고, 이는 결국 더 높은 브랜드 충성도로 이어지는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 브랜드 글로벌성이 브랜드 신용도와 호감도에 미치는 영향에 있어 소비자 문화지능의 조절효과는 통계적인 유의성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 소비자의 문화지능과는 상관없이 브랜드 글로벌성이 높을수록 모든 소비자들로부터 더 높은 신용도와 호감도를 얻을 수 있음 시사하는 것이다. 본 연구결과는 세계시장에서 활약하고 있는 국내기업들에게 글로벌 브랜드 전략의 유효성에 대해 일련의 시사점을 제시해 줄 것으로 기대된다.
