This study examines how mental health promotion programs based on positive psychology brings changes in pleasant life, engaged life and meaningful life. This research considers 15 programs featuring 178 students during one semester. Pre-and-post examination of psychological well-being, depression and optimism were conducted to identify changes before and after the program. 56 students (32%) showed positive changes in all 3 factors. 15 students among them were selected for an in-depth interview for a qualitative case study. As a result of the quantitative study, a mental health promotion program based on positive psychology showed statistically significant positive changes in the pre-and-post examinations of psychological well-being, depression and optimism. Mental health promotion programs based on positive psychology showed positive changes in mental, cognitive and behavior perspectives in the fields of pleasant life, engaged life and meaningful life of college students. Specifically, positive psychology and thinking programs influenced students to become more enthusiastic and active in pursuing a pleasant life. Secondly, positive psychology intervention concerning engaged life brought a recognition of higher 'self-acceptance'. Thirdly, each individual spent more time and effort to experience more satisfaction and accomplishments. Lastly, subjects showed greater optimism after the program. Through the searching gratitude program, study subjects expanded their appreciation of their relationships with others.
The current study is the first attempt to review the [Korean Journal of Psychology: Culture and Social Issues] systematically. For the past 22 years from 1994 to 2015, 464 articles have been published in the Journal. We analyzed the 337 empirical research articles, with respect to their objectives, predictor and outcome variables, and their methodologies. Most of the studies dealt with variables at individual level; some dealt with variables of the community and socio-cutural environment level. Many of the studies included general population, not necessarily social minorities. The results were compared with the literature on the social issues that Koreans perceive as social issues. Also it is noteworthy that many studies failed to specify such demographic characteristics as age, gender, and locality of their participants in the articles. Based on the analysis results, we discussed the roles of psychology and of the Journal in the contemporary Korean context.
Previous research in leisure motivation has been limited in terms of its overwhelming interest in beneficial outcomes of leisure activities, its short of coverage on wide range of modern leisure activities, and its lack of cultural perspectives. In order to overcome those limitations, the present research conducted a survey in which motives to participate in 48 leisure activities and frequency and importance of the activities were assessed. We categorized 7 categories of leisure activities (skill-involved, social, personal hobby, goal-oriented, relaxing, digital, and voluntary) and 7 categories of leisure motives (achievement, intimacy, psychological comfort, sensation-seeking, secondary, self-promoting, and no-fun). On the basis of the categorizations, momentary leisure motives and individual differences of the leisure motives were conceptualized and tested as a preceding factor of selection of leisure activities. This conceptualization was discussed in its practical implication of leisure education, consulting, and policy.
This study aimed to examine the influence of intergenerational contact on work meaning through knowledge sharing. Additionally, based on the socioemotional selectivity theory, this study investigated whether age moderates the mediating path. We collected data from 588 full-time employees in South Korea, and analyzed the data using the latent moderated structural equation method. The results showed that knowledge sharing fully mediated the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning. Furthermore, age was found to moderate the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning via knowledge sharing. Particularly, the mediation effect was strengthened as age increased. This study holds a significant theoretical value by shedding light on the specific mechanisms underlying knowledge sharing. Moreover, the results suggest the potential for enhancing the impact of coaching programs by tailoring them to individual characteristics.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of innovation-oriented organizational culture on organizational members' innovation behavior, and to confirm the sequential mediating effect of the boss's coaching leadership and the basic psychological needs of organizational members. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted targeting 377 office workers who had been working with the same boss for more than 6 months. The collected data was analyzed using Hayes' SPSS PROCESS Macro. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the relationship between organizational culture and innovative behavior was statically significant. Second, it was confirmed that coaching leadership and basic psychological needs sequentially mediate in the relationship between organizational culture and innovative behavior. In other words, the innovation-oriented organizational culture does not directly affect innovative behavior, but rather leads to the exertion of coaching leadership by boss, and coaching leadership promotes more innovative behavior by influencing the satisfaction of members' basic psychological needs. This is meaningful as a basic study on how environmental variables, such as organizational culture and superior leadership, affect individual motivational variables, desire, and thus affect individual behavioral variables. In addition, based on the results of this study, academic and practical implications were discussed, and limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.
The purpose of this study is to examine empirically how the lay people judge self-defense and what factors could affect it. A total of 651 participants aged 20 years and over were asked to answer, attitude toward interpersonal violence, and legal attitude questionnaire, all divided by the type of self-defense. Participants were assigned one of the three types of situations that were claimed to be self-defense, and were given articles and scenarios related to each type of self-defense before making self-defense judgments. In addition, the impact of personal factors on self-defense judgment was analyzed after the legal attitude, and the attitude toward interpersonal violence, which are personal factors, was also measured. The results showed that the rate of recognition of self-defense was the highest in the type of self-defense for oneself, but the rate of denial of self-defense against state agencies was much higher, indicating the opposite. Furthemore, negative articles on self-defense were found to affect the judgment of self-defense. In addition, it was found that the level of the attitude toward interpersonal violence and legal attitude of individual participants could affect the judgment of self-defense. The general public's judgment process and the factors that affect self-defense judgment may be considered to prevent biased judgment in actual jury trials. Finally, influence, and limitations of this study and suggestions of subsequent study were also discussed.
As a range of accidents happen frequently in our society due to safety insensitivity, researches on individual psychological characteristics related to safety behavior and on safety education are increasing. However, safety behavior research that targets university students as potential employees remains rare. Therefore, this research investigates individual characteristics and psychological factors that affect safety behaviors of university students. Research participants were 131 university students (80 males, 51 females) from the Gyeonggi-do and Chungnam areas. Psychological characteristics (self-regulation, cognitive failure, conscientiousness, and emotional stability) were included as variables that may predict university students' safety behaviors (habits, compliance, mistakes, and violations). The major findings of the study are as follows. Stepwise regression analysis showed conscientiousness was a major predictor explaining safety habits and safety compliance; Cognitive failure and emotional stability were main predictors explaining safety mistakes, and self-regulation was a major predictor explaining safety violations. These findings suggest that development of proper education programs focusing on individual characteristics would allow systematic improvement of safety behaviors of university students.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate spatial and temporal features of motor control in an individual with hemiparesis during the curvilinear gait (CG) and proposed an exercise guideline. Research design, data and methodology: An individual aged 63 with hemiparesis by stroke disease was participated in the study. Autoencoder (AE) was used to extract four motor modules from eight muscle activities of the paretic leg during CG. After extraction, each module of four modules was operationally defined by numbering from M1 to M4 according to spatial and temporal features and compared with results reported in a previous study. Results: As a result, an individual with hemiparesis had motor module problems related to difficulty of weight acceptance (module 1), compensation for the weakness of ankle plantar flexor (module 2), a spastic synergistic pattern (module 3) and difficulty with transition from the swing to stance phase (module 4) in terms of spatial features. Also, a delayed activation timing of temporal motor module (module 2) related to the forward propulsion during CG was observed. Conclusions: Gait rehabilitation for the stroke will need to consider clinical significances in respect of the deterioration of motor module and provide the tailored approaches for each gait phase.

The attachment of Korean infants with their mothers was analyzed by individual attachment and interaction behaviors. The Strange Situation was used with 35 12- 18-month-old infants. Results were similar to the findings of Ainsworth et al(l978), in that exploratory and attachment behavior systems of Korean infants changed depending on separation with their mothers. Then again we could discover the orginal attachment characteristics of Korean infants. Korean infants showed meaningful differences in individual attachment and interaction behaviors from the second separation(episode 6), and the difference between attachnet type were also definite from the second separation. Also, the recovery of exploratory behavior from episode 7 with the advent of a stranger was a distinguishable characteristic compared to Ainsworth et al(l978). This empirical evidence mandates the inclusion of episodes 6 in future studies on attachment of Korean infants.

The article describes technologies in a unified methodological vein, since teaching based on them at the present stage is clearly eclectic in nature and depends on the individual - "biased" - professional attitude of teachers to technologies and those ideologies that gave rise to them. In this article, the future teacher will get acquainted with only some of these technologies. With the hope that this article will help the future teacher understand the essence of the technological approach, determine his pedagogical position and improve his pedagogical culture.
