Relationship between Personality and Biological Reactivity to Stress: A Review

  • Objective Personality traits can be the basis for individual differences in the biological response of stress. To date, many psychobiological studies have been conducted to clarify the relationship between personality and biological reactivity to stress. This review summarizes the most important findings in this area of research. Results Key findings related to the relationship between personality factors and stress-sensitive biological systems in four research models have been summarized; model of psychosocial characteristics, model based on Rumination and Emotional Inhibition, Eysenck's biopsychological model, and Five-Factor Approach of Personality. Conclusion According to the results of this review, it can be concluded that personality typology of individuals influenced their biological reactivity to stressful events. Understanding the biological basis of personality can help to better understand vulnerability to stress. Future research can be continuing based on framework of the four models.

중소병원 간호사의 개인성격특성, 조직성격특성이 직무만족, 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Individual and Organizational Personality on Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Nurses in Small-Medium Sized Hospitals)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify how personality characteristics of individuals and organizations influence nurses' job satisfaction and organizational commitment in small-medium sized hospitals. Methods: Subjects were 186 nurses with more than one year working experience. They currently worked in four small-medium sized hospitals specialized in spinal surgery. Data were collected from June 13 to July 12, 2016 using self-recorded questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results: Among individual personality characteristics, extroversion significantly affected job satisfaction; on the other hand, extroversion and openness affected organizational commitment. In the meantime, organizational characteristics did not present statistical effects on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conclusion: Based on these results, we found that extroversion and openness had statistically significant influences on nurses' job satisfaction and organizational commitment in small-medium sized hospitals. Therefore, when hospitals recruit nurses, we recommend considering their personality traits in order to increase compliance with duties and organizational characteristics.

인지 및 비인지적 요인이 임금에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Cognitive and Non-cognitive Skill on Wage Performance in Early Labor Market)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국고용정보원의 행정DB를 이용하여 인지능력과 비인지적 요인이 임금에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 개인의 인지능력으로는 적성검사(Aptitude Test Battery) 점수의 첫 번째 주성분을, 비인지적 요인은 성격 5요인(Big Five Personality Inventory) 점수를 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 인지능력과 비인지적 요인 중 성실성과 외향성이 임금수준에 긍정적 효과를 미치고, 그 유의성은 비교적 높았다. 본 연구에서 나타난 비인지 요인들에 대한 추정계수의 부호와 유의성 강도는 기존 심리학의 결론과 유사하였다. 한편 인지능력은 교육수준이 높을수록 임금수준에 대한 영향력이 더 커지는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 현상은 4년제 대학졸업자에서 강하게 작용하고 있었다.

First of all, we investigated factors that influence individual investor's investment behavior, such as, openness, will to achieve, self-monitoring. As result investors who have lately five number of holding stock are more dependent on openness and will to achieve.

얼굴 영역 추출 시 여유값의 설정에 따른 개성 인식 모델 정확도 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis for Accuracy of Personality Recognition Models based on Setting of Margin Values at Face Region Extraction)

  • 최근 개인의 성향을 반영한 맞춤형 서비스가 각광 받고 있다. 이와 관련하여 개인의 개성을 인식하고 활용하고자 하는 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다. 각 개인의 개성을 인식하고 평가하는 방법은 다수가 있지만, OCEAN 모델이 대표적으로 사용된다. OCEAN 모델로 각 개인의 개성을 인식할 때 언어적, 준언어적, 비언어적 정보를 이용하는 멀티 모달리티 기반 인공지능 모델이 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 비언어적 정보인 사용자의 표정을 기반으로 OCEAN을 인식하는 인공지능 모델에서 영상 데이터에서 얼굴 영역을 추출할 때 지정하는 얼굴 영역 여유값(Margin)에 따른 개성 인식 모델 정확도 성능을 분석한다. 실험에서는 2D Patch Partition, R2plus1D, 3D Patch Partition, 그리고 Video Swin Transformer에 기반한 개성 인식 모델을 사용하였다. 얼굴 영역 추출 시 여유값을 60으로 사용했을 때 1-MAE 성능이 0.9118로 가장 우수하였다. 따라서 개성 인식 모델의 성능을 최적화하기 위해서는 적절한 여유값을 설정해야 함을 확인하였다.

증권사 영업사원의 개인성향이 PI저항에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (A Study on Impacts of the Personality of Brokers of Securities Company on PI Resistance)

  • This research analyze the impact factors that affect the PI resistance of securities brokerage salespersons during Process Innovation in securities companies focusing on the broker's individual personality. After reviewing some related literatures, a survey was conducted at a domestic securities company with the derived factors from a focus group of securities salesmen with over 10 year work experience. The results show that broker's individual propensity to innovation, individual customer relationship and individual flexibility are closely related to the PI resistance. By controlling such factors for salespersons, securities companies can boost the ability to meet and control the changing situation and management innovation.

Examination of the Impact of Blood Groups on Group Participation

  • Purpose - Could blood type provide the key to wellness and affect our personality? The theory that blood type is linked to personality (and other mental and physical qualities) is popular mostly in Japan, although it has carried over to Taiwan and South Korea. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - Questionnaires were distributed to 380 production line company employees. The reliability and validity of the questionnaires were examined through independence testing and the average ratio comparison of the two populations. Additionally, using Pearson's chi-square formula, the relationship between the blood group (independent variable) and general group participation (dependent variable) was tested along with the Schuprow coefficient. Result - The prioritization of blood groups over the general group participation was identified and the following results were obtained: Individual group participation is affected by personality features derived from temperament, mood, and other characteristics. Conclusion - The study showed that individual blood groups have an effect on their group cooperation, and among blood groups, blood group A had the greatest tendency to group participation, followed by blood groups O, AB, B, respectively.

  • With Balling, Loughlin and Kelloway's(2002) research, occupational safety and health literatures begin to emphasize the influence of superior and organizational context. Based on this research trend, this paper tried to review the relationship between safety-specific transformational leadership and employee safety compliance, and the moderating effect of A-type personality on such relationship. Based on the responses from 643 manufacturing workers, the results of statistical analysis showed that perceived charisma and individual consideration have affirmative effects on the employee safety compliance. The extent individual consideration impacts on employee compliance is proved to be positively influenced by A-type personality.

사용자 성격유형에 따른 주거공간 실내디자인 요구에 관한 연구 (Study on Users' Housing and Interior Design Needs Affected by Personality Types)

  • This study aims to find out various users' diverse interior design needs for their housing and interior design through the personality, which is intrinsic and consistent traits of the individual. The survey research followed the literature reviews including personality studies and interior design assessments. 176 undergraduate and graduate students as controlled by age, sex, and major answered the questionnaire. Their housing and interior design attitudes, the semiotic assessment of interior design styles, and interior design preference were compared in accordance with four pairs of preference dichotomy of MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator): Extraversion -Introversion, Sensing-iNtuition, Thinking-Feeling, Judging-Perceiving. As a result, the framework of housing and interior design needs by the users' personality types are proposed. It shows specific needs for 16 types of personality based on eight preference dichotomy: extroversion-open, introversion-closed, sensing-functional, intuition-emotional, thinking-restricted, feeling-receptive, judging-simple, and perceiving-creative.

부인의 성격유형, 갈등대처방법과 부부갈등의 관계 (Association among Personality, Conflict Strategies, and Marital Conflict of Married Woman)

  • This study examined the association among personality, conflict strategies, and marital conflict. The subjects were 279 married women who completed a questionnaire for 4 personality types(extraversion-introversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling, and judgement-perception), 5 conflict strategies(dominance, integration, compromise, avoidance, and smoothing over), and marital conflict. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Among the women of thinking-feeling type women, the thinking group tended to use more dominance conflict strategy than the feeling group. Among the women of judgement-perception type women, the judgement group tended to use more compromise conflict strategy than the perception group. 2) Results of hierarchical regression analysis revealed that two conflict strategies (dominance and compromise), two personality types (extraversion-introversion and sensing-intuition), and income were significant predictors of marital conflict for married women. Overall, we can conclude that marital conflict is more affected by the strategies for dealing with conflict than by individual personality.
