Implementation of Image Adaptive Map (적응적인 Saliency Map 모델 구현)

  • This paper presents a new saliency map which is constructed by providing dynamic weights on individual features in an input image to search ROI(Region Of Interest) or FOA(Focus Of Attention). To construct a saliency map on there is no a priori information, three feature-maps are constructed first which emphasize orientation, color, and intensity of individual pixels, respectively. From feature-maps, conspicuity maps are generated by using the It's algorithm and their information quantities are measured in terms of entropy. Final saliency map is constructed by summing the conspicuity maps weighted with their individual entropies. The prominency of the proposed algorithm has been proved by showing that the ROIs detected by the proposed algorithm in ten different images are similar with those selected by one-hundred person's naked eyes.

  • This paper proposes a global mapping algorithm for multiple robots from an omnidirectional-vision simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) approach based on an object extraction method using Lucas-Kanade optical flow motion detection and images obtained through fisheye lenses mounted on robots. The multi-robot mapping algorithm draws a global map by using map data obtained from all of the individual robots. Global mapping takes a long time to process because it exchanges map data from individual robots while searching all areas. An omnidirectional image sensor has many advantages for object detection and mapping because it can measure all information around a robot simultaneously. The process calculations of the correction algorithm are improved over existing methods by correcting only the object's feature points. The proposed algorithm has two steps: first, a local map is created based on an omnidirectional-vision SLAM approach for individual robots. Second, a global map is generated by merging individual maps from multiple robots. The reliability of the proposed mapping algorithm is verified through a comparison of maps based on the proposed algorithm and real maps.

  • In this paper, major species of tree were discriminated in compartment by using LiDAR data and optic imagery. This is an important work in forest field. A current digital stock map has created the aerial photo and collecting survey data. Unlike high resolution imagery, LiDAR data is not influenced by topographic effects since it is an active sensory system. LiDAR system can measure three dimension information of individual tree. And the main methods of this study were to extract reliable the individual tree and analysis techniques to facilitate the used LiDAR data for calculating tree crown 2D parameter. We should estimate the forest inventory for calculating parameter. 2D parameter has need of area, perimeter, diameter, height, crown shape, etc. Eventually, major species of tree were determined the tree parameters, compared a digital stock map.

Mosaicking of Fingerprint Minutiae Using Minutiae Constellation (특징점의 별자리 형태를 이용한 지문의 특징점 융합)

  • In this paper, fingerprint minutiae mosaicking algorithm using minutiae of fingerprint is proposed. First, minutiae map is generated from minutiae of fingerprint and minutiae constellation is generated from fingerprint minutiae map. Minutiae constellation is constellation-shaped structure generated from Voronoi Diagram and Delaunay Triangulation using information of minutiae. Secondly, common region is detected by similarity of minutiae constellation of fingerprint minutiae map and minutiae map of individual fingerprint image is composed. Consequently composite minutiae map by mosaicking of fingerprint minutiae improve the performance of the fingerprint matching system.

  • At these day, owing to functional limitations and cost issues, used image map in web service have a problem which can not make exactly meet the user needs. This study aims to create an individual map for user suitable purposes using HTML5 technology that implement the vector map creation and its functions with services. The results of this study, the invisible problems of the tilting and rotation functions in image-based map utilizing the existing web environment were solved in HTML5 vector map. And to access the map information, by implementing the function of expressing the background and name data to selectively derive, various results were expressed in the map. Also, as a result of a comparison of performance the time required was measured at 0.88sec which comes in the range of the first loading time between 0.78sec and 7.56sec in a commercial map service, which showed the possibility of its commercialization. compared to 180GB of image maps for the production of a national map index system, the volume to produce a vector map was 2.5GB, a decrease by over 90%, which solved the issue of costs for a storage space. As a result, this study of HTML5 vector map design and implementation presented a plan for providing information suitable for the requirements of the users who use spatial information through utilizing a variety of information and expanding functions.

Exploring Cross-function Domain Interaction Map

  • Living cells are sustained not by individual activities but rather by coordinated summative efforts of different biological functional modules. While recent research works have focused largely on finding individual functional modules, this paper attempts to explore the connections or relationships between different cellular functions through cross-function domain interaction maps. Exploring such a domain interaction map can help understand the underlying inter-function communication mechanisms. To construct a cross-function domain interaction map from existing genome-wide protein-protein interaction datasets, we propose a two-step procedure. First, we infer conserved domain-domain interactions from genome-wide protein-protein interactions of yeast, worm and fly. We then build a cross-function domain interaction map that shows the connections of different functions through various conserved domain interactions. The domain interaction maps reveal that conserved domain-domain interactions can be found in most detected cross-functional relationships and a f9w domains play pivotal roles in these relationships. Another important discovery in the paper is that conserved domains correspond to highly connected protein hubs that connect different functional modules together.

PREPARATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE ABSORPTION MAP USING KOMPSAT-2 IMAGERY

  • The objective of this study is to produce the $CO_2$ (carbon dioxide) absorption map using KOMPSAT-2 imagery. For estimating the amount of $CO_2$ absorption, the stand biomass of forest was estimated with the total weight, which was the sum of individual tree weight. Individual tree volumes could be estimated by the crown width extracted from KOMPSAT-2 imagery. In particular, the carbon conversion index and the ratio of the $CO_2$ molecular weight to the C atomic weight, reported in the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) guideline, was used to convert the stand biomass into the amount of $CO_2$ absorption. Thereafter, the KOMPSAT-2 imagery was classified with the SBC (segment based classification) method in order to quantify $CO_2$ absorption by tree species. As a result, the map of $CO_2$ absorption was produced and the amount of $CO_2$ absorption was estimated by tree species.

Farm-map Application Strategy for Agri-Environmental Resources Management (농업환경자원관리를 위한 팜맵 활용전략에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a farm map utilization strategy for sustainable agricultural environmental resource management was derived. In addition, it is intended to present an efficient method of providing farm map-related services. As a result of the demand survey, the additional information required for the farm map includes 29% of information on crops grown on farmland, 21% of management-related information such as the owner or business entity, 17% of topographical information including slope, 15% of agricultural water information, 17% of land status information, and the addition of functions. 2% was investigated. As a result of intensive interview survey, it was found that it can be used for information on crops cultivated by agricultural businesses, actual cultivated area by township, arable land consolidation division boundary, and management of agricultural promotion zones. The farm map can be used as basic data to efficiently manage agricultural environmental resources. Since the status of support for individual farms or lots, such as soil improvement agent support and organic fertilizer support, may belong to personal information, it can be processed and provided in units required by administration or policies, such as administrative boundaries, subwatersheds, and watersheds. It can serve as a basis for executing the direct payment currently supported only by individual farms, even in a community unit that manages environmental direct payments.

  • Ergonomic vehicle design is very important for driver's safety and sensibility. Many studies have emphasized the physical factors of human operator and usability of control devices. However, driver's cognitive factors such as the shape of cognitive map have not been well documented. The aim of this research is to find the relationship between the shape of Instrument Pane (IP) in driver's cognitive map and the real vehicle. To do this, Sketch Map Method (SMM), that is an extraction method of cognitive map, was employed to extract the shape of middle-aged driver's cognitive map. In this study, SMM was modified to formulate driver's cognitive map because this process is not being in the existing SMM. Next, correlation was analyzed between individual cognitive map and the shape of real vehicle's IP. The result showed that the position of volume control switch and cigar jack was similar between these but the position of others wasn't.

  • Mind map is a very useful technique for brainstorming. Therefore, it can be effectively used for collaboration as a creative group conception. However, existing mind map software is not possible to collaborate because it is difficult to share mind map or discuss among members. In this study, we developed a mind map system that can support collaborative work as well as individual authoring and editing. This can incorporate individual mind maps of members into mind map of team, share and discuss them, and modify the mind map. This is convenient because it does not require a separate program installation, and verifies usability to support the process of collaborative process through usability evaluation.
