It is difficult to find web contents for visual disabilities in spite of rapid growing internet users, infrastructures and advance of computer technology. For the case of usenet newsgroup concerning disabilities, hit rate is even less than E-mail because of lack of accessibility, educational support and economical expense for internet. This paper is addressed to voice usenet newsgroup service by using telephone or web browser for visual disabilities without additional S/W support such as 775, usenet program and installation program, suggests a design method and an implementation example for it. Main features of it are easiness of man machine interface, popularity of access device such as telephone or web browser and independency of particular news server by using NNTP. This system supports general MIME format, is implemented for usenet server of Korean Social Worker's Community and will be implemented for Gomduri InfoNet BBS of Korean Society for Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.

A robust control technique of the PM synchronous motor is presented using an accelerating torque feedback. The accelerating torque is estimated by using an adaptive torque observer and then this estimated torque is controlled by a VSC technique. By employing the proposed torque control, the speed control performance of the motor is improved and the load independency can be realized. The simulations carried out for the PM synchronous motor to verily the effectiveness of the proposed control.

In this paper, we focus on the creative attitude in mathematics as one aspect of mathematical creativity. To measure the creative attitude, we first introduce some prior studies and CAS (Creative Attitude Scale) designed by Noboru Saito in Japan. We develop the CAS-K (Creative Attitude Scale-Korea) including 33 items of 7 factors based on CAS which has 27 items. The factors are fluency, appropriateness, positiveness, independency, concentration, convergency, and accuracy. In CAS-K, it is important to give the information about students' creative attitude for each factor. Thereby, CAS-K can be useful sources of creative attitude to foster mathematical creativity. Rather than the total scores, we emphasize applications and results from CAS-K relating to the 7 factors.

In this paper, contour plot is considered as a method to explore the structure of categorical data. For this purpose, the paper suggests a method to sort two-way contingency table with respect to the expected marginals. It is found that the suggested plot provides us with valuable information for the underlying data structure. Firstly, we can investigate independency between the categories by examining the differences of expected frequency contours and observed frequency contours. With the plot, we can also visually investigate the existence of outliers inherent in the data. These properties of the suggested contour plot will be demonstrated by several sets of real data.

Almost 18,000 children were protected in 285 residential facilities all over the country in 2008 in Korea. The recent trends of the residential care include downsizing, and emphasizing independent living programs for aging out youths. Since the 1990s when the active research on the children in residential facilities has begun, the study focus has extended to the issues of developmental status and outcomes of the children, and recently, to the independency of the youths discharged from the facilities. The practical and policy issues are development of therapeutic programs for the children in care, increase of counseling staff, extension of programs for restoring children's relationship with their families, and planning of various policies to support the independence of discharged youths.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore factors that influence care dependency of institutionalized patients with dementia. Method: This study utilized descriptive correlational design. The convenience sample was composed of 110 residents with dementia of two long-term care facilities in Korea. Stepwise multiple regression was used to identify significant factors influencing care dependency in patients with dementia. Care dependency was measured using the Care Dependency Scale, Korean version(CDS-K). Cognition was measured by the MMSE-K. Functional disability was measured by the PULSES Profile. Behavioral dysfunction was measured by the modified E-BEHAVE AD. Result: Care dependency was significantly influenced by cognition, functional disability, behavioral dysfunction, and duration of dementia. This regression model explained 61 % of the variances in care dependency. Cognition explained 37% of the variances, and functional disability explained 21% of the variances. Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that professional caregivers intervene more effectively in caring for their patients with dementia by recognizing the patients cognitive, functional, behavioral disability, and its periodic change. Individually, remaining abilities-focused intervention should be applied to enhance patient to be dependent and to prevent unnecessary independency.

It is demonstrated that there is a simple, canonical way to show the independency of the Friedman-style miniaturization of Kruskal's theorem with respect to $(\prod_{2}^{1}-BI)_0$. This is done by a non-trivial combination of some well-known, non-trivial previous works concerning directly or indirectly the (proof-theoretic) strength of Kruskal's theorem.

An expert system for the diagnosis and indication of hypertension is implemented through HTML-based backward inference. HTML-based backward inference is performed using the hypertext function of HTML, and many HTML files, which are hyperlinked to each other based on the backward rules, should be prepared beforehand. The development and maintenance of the HTML files are conducted automatically using the decision graph. Still, the drawing and input of the decision graph is a time consuming and tedious job if it is done manually. So, automatic generator of the decision graph for the diagnosis and indication of hypertension was implemented. The HTML-based backward inference ensures accessibility, multimedia facilities, fast response, stability, easiness, and platform independency of the expert system. So, this research reveals that HTML-based inference approach can be used for many Web-based intelligent site with fast and stable performance.

A theoretical and numerical investigation on the boundary-layer flow over a two- or three-dimensional hill is presented. The numerical model is based on the finite volume method with boundary-fitted coordinates. The k-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model with modified wall function and the low-Reynolds-number model are employed. The hypothesis of Reynolds number independency for the atmospheric boundary-layer flow over aerodynamically rough terrain is confirmed by the numerical simulation. Comparisons of the mean velocity profiles and surface pressure distributions between the numerical predictions and the wind-tunnel experiments on the flow over a hill show good agreement. The linear theory provides generally good prediction of speed-up characteristics for the gentle-sloped hills. The flow separation occurs in the hill slope of 0.5 and the measured reattachment points are compared with the numerical prediction. It is found that the k- $\varepsilon$ turbulence model is reasonably accurate in predicting the attached flow, while the low- Reynolds-number model is more suitable to simulate the separated flows.ows.

Study of weldment fracture behavior includes thermal analysis, residual stress analysis, and fracture analysis. The J-integral loses its path-independency in a residual stress field. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a program to calculate the J-integral in a welded plate. In this study, theoretical formulation and program were developed for the evaluation of the J-integral at the crack tip of weldments. To verify equations and program, welded thin plate and thick plate were used to calculate residual stress and the J-integral.
