  • In this study we generalize the law of cosine(in any triangle the square of one side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other sides minus twice their product times the cosine of their included angle), We find the following generalized law of cosine: in any polygon the square of one side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other sides minus twice their products times the cosines of their included angles, and prove it using vector.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to review the effects of Daoyin exercise on scoliosis in clinical studies. Methods: In this study, we reviewed 9 electronic databases (Pubmed, CAJ, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CiNii, KISS, KMBASE, OASIS, ScienceON) on May 22, 2021. We included only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) which evaluated the effect of Daoyin exercise on scolisos. The methodological quality of the included studies was checked using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results: After screening, eight RCTs fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The results of the meta-analysis showed that Daoyin exercise improves the measurement value of Cobb's angle, SRS-22, pulmoary function, physiological curvature, muscle strength, effective rate in scoliosis patients. Conclusion: We concluded that Daoyin exercise has therapeutic effects in relief of imbalance, improvement of symptoms, improvement of function, muscle strength for scoliosis. However, the quality of the original articles was low and the number of papers included were few. Thus, to confirm these results, further well-designed RCTs should be conducted.

  • Recently, the Carbon Fiber Sheet(CFS) is widely used to structure. But the behavior of the concrete column which is strengthened with the CFS is not clearly defined yet. This study presents the result of experimental studies on the stress-strain behavior and the strengthening effect of laterally confined concrete by Carbon Fiber Sheets(CFS) subject to compression. In this experimental study, included three-parameters, which are the number of the sheets, the laminated angle of sheets, and concrete strength.

  • This paper describe the mathematical model of helicopter rotor, which is suitable for the calculation of trim condition to develop the stability and control. The mathematical model is a nonlinear, total force and moment model of a single main rotor helicopter. The effects of fuselage, tail rotor, horizontal tail, and vertical tail are included. The phase angle and stick displacement are obtained and compared at the trim condition.

  • LAMOST is a special reflecting Schmidt telescope. Both the refleting Schmidt plate $M_A$ and the spherical primary mitrror $M_B$ are segmened mirrors. These two cofocus but not co-phase. The diffraction of the optical system is decided by the shape overlapping of $M_A$ and $M_B$. This paper describes the diffraction caculating results with different declination and different field angle. The diffraction influence to the image quality is acceptable in the error buget of optical system. It also proves that the size seletion of the sub-mirror is reasonable.

  • Based on the smoothness criterion of minimum curvature variation of the curve, tangent angle constraints guaranteeing an optimized geometric Hermite (OGH) curve both mathematically and geometrically smooth is given, and new methods for constructing composite optimized geometric Hermite (COH) curves are presented in this paper. The comparison of the new methods with Yong and Cheng's methods based on strain energy minimization is included.

  • Ganglioglioma is an infrequent tumor of the central nervous system (CNS); mostly supratentorial region. But, they can occur anywhere in the central nervous system such as brainstem, cerebellopontine angle (CPA), thalamus, optic nerve and spinal cord. Although it occurs rarely, ganglioglioma should be included in the differential diagnosis of a posterior fossa mass because early recognition is important for treatment and patient counseling.

  • Purpose: This review article was written to determine the effects of parameters characterizing a hard contact lens (RGP included), such as BCs, diameters, edge angles, on the time interval for tight fitted lens to return to the equilibrium when it was decentered from blinking. Methods: A mathematical formulation was established to relate or calculate the restoring forces and thickness of lacrimal layer beneath the cornea with the various lens parameters when the tight fitted lens was decentered from blinking. Based on this formulation the differential equations and their numerical solution program were set up to describe the time dependence of the lens on the position and to estimate the time for the lens's return to the equilibrium after blink. Results: It is found that the time interval for the tight fitted lens to return to the equilibrium decreases as either the BC decreases or the diameter increases because both the reduction in BC and increase in diameter result in the increase in the lacrimal layer thickness between the lens and cornea increase which yielded the lowering of the viscous friction in the lens motion. As the edge angle of tight fitted lens increases the time for recentering decreases due to the increase in restoring force without change in lacrimal thickness beneath the lens. In the case of flat fitted hard lens (RGP included), the lacrimal layer thickness under the lens increases as either BC or diameter increases which results in reduction in viscous friction so that the time for the lens's return to the equilibrium were to decrease. The edge angle of flat fitted lens does not affect the lens motion. Conclusions: The effect of BCs on the lens motion (time to approach the equilibrium) was concluded to be significant with both tight and flat fitted lens where its results are contrary with each other. The edge angle of lens only affects the motion in tight fitted lenses.

  • Objective : Laminoplasty is an effective surgical method for treating cervical degenerative disease. However, postoperative complications such as kyphosis, restriction of neck motion, and instability are often reported. Despite sufficient preoperative lordosis, this procedure often aggravates the lordotic curve of the cervical spine and straightens cervical alignment. Hence, it is important to examine preoperative risk factors associated with postoperative kyphotic alignment changes. Our study aimed to investigate preoperative radiologic parameters associated with kyphotic deformity post laminoplasty. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 49 patients who underwent open door laminoplasty for cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) or ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital between January 2011 and December 2015. Inclusion criteria were as follows : 1) preoperative diagnosis of OPLL or CSM, 2) no previous history of cervical spinal surgery, cervical trauma, tumor, or infection, 3) minimum of one-year follow-up post laminoplasty with proper radiologic examinations performed in outpatient clinics, and 4) cases showing C7 and T1 vertebral body in the preoperative cervical sagittal plane. The radiologic parameters examined included C2-C7 Cobb angles, T1 slope, C2-C7 sagittal vertical axis (SVA), range of motion (ROM) from C2-C7, segmental instability, and T2 signal change observed on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Clinical factors examined included preoperative modified Japanese Orthopedic Association scores, disease classification, duration of symptoms, and the range of operation levels. Results : Mean preoperative sagittal alignment was $13.01^{\circ}$ lordotic; $6.94^{\circ}$ lordotic postoperatively. Percentage of postoperative kyphosis was 80%. Patients were subdivided into two groups according to postoperative Cobb angle change; a control group (n=22) and kyphotic group (n=27). The kyphotic group consisted of patients with more than $5^{\circ}$ kyphotic angle change postoperatively. There were no differences in age, sex, C2-C7 Cobb angle, T1 slope, C2-C7 SVA, ROM from C2-C7, segmental instability, or T2 signal change. Multiple regression analysis revealed T1 slope had a strong relationship with postoperative cervical kyphosis. Likewise, correlation analysis revealed there was a statistical significance between T1 slope and postoperative Cobb angle change (p=0.035), and that there was a statistically significant relationship between T1 slope and C2-C7 SVA (p=0.001). Patients with higher preoperative T1 slope demonstrated loss of lordotic curvature postoperatively. Conclusion : Laminoplasty has a high probability of aggravating sagittal balance of the cervical spine. T1 slope is a good predictor of postoperative kyphotic changes of the cervical spine. Similarly, T1 slope is strongly correlated with C2-C7 SVA.
