  • In this paper, we will propose that HCN(n,n) gets Hamiltonian Cycles and analyze embedding among HCN(n,n) and UFN(n,n), and HFN(n,n) and In-hypercube. Further, we will prove that HCN(n,n) can be embedded into HFN(n,n) with dilation 3 and the cost for HFN(n,n) to be embedded into HCN(n,n) will be O(n), and HW(n,n) can be embedded into 2n-hypercube with dilation 3 and the cost for In-hypercube to be embedded into HFN(n,n) will be O(n).

  • Field experiment was conducted to investigate the seasonal change in inorganic nitrogen content in grassland soil profile after urea application. Urea was applied at the levels of 0 (0N), 14 (14N), and 28 (28N) Kg N per 10a. Soil samples were taken at every 20 cm interval upto 100 cm soil depth in spring (May 26), summer (July 27), and autumn (October 18) and analysed for total and inorganic nitrogen ($NH_4-N$ and $NO_3-N$). The results obtained are as follows ; 1. In spring, the $NH_4-N$ content of ON treatment was higher than $NO_3-N$ content both in surface and subsoil. The urea application increasing both $NH_4-N$ and $NO_3-N$ contents in the surface soils and these contents decreased with soil depth. 2. In summer, increase in urea application rate elevated the $NO_3-N$ content in soil profile of 0 to 100cm and the content reached upto 42 ppm in the 28N treatment. 3. The seasonal difference in $NH_4-N$ content between summer and autumn was insignificant throughout soil profile. Soil $NO_3-N$ content in autumn were 7 and 14 ppm for 14N and 28N respectively, showing very low values compared with that of summer. 4. The ratio of inorganic nitrogen to total nitrogen increased with soil depth and with urea application rates.

  • Let n be any positive integer and ${\mathbb{Z}}_n=\{0,1,{\cdots},n-1\}$ be the ring of integers modulo n. Let $X_n$ be the set of all nonzero, nonunits of ${\mathbb{Z}}_n$, and $G_n$ be the group of all units of ${\mathbb{Z}}_n$. In this paper, by investigating the regular action on $X_n$ by $G_n$, the following are proved : (1) The number of orbits under the regular action (resp. the number of annihilators in $X_n$) is equal to the number of all divisors (${\neq}1$, n) of n; (2) For any positive integer n, ${\sum}_{g{\in}G_n}\;g{\equiv}0$ (mod n); (3) For any orbit o(x) ($x{\in}X_n$) with ${\mid}o(x){\mid}{\geq}2$, ${\sum}_{y{\in}o(x)}\;y{\equiv}0$ (mod n).

  • To compare the hypolipidemic effects of n6 and n3 PUFA at different fat levels, male Sprague Dawley rats were fed either low fat (LF, 10% Cal) or high fat (HF, 40% Cal) diet which was different only in fatty acid composition for 6 weeks. Dietary fats were beef tallow, corn oil, perilla oil, and fish oil concentrate as a source of saturated fatty acid, n6 linoleic acid(LA). n3 ${\alpha}-linolenic$ acid(LL) and n3 eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)+docosahexaenoic acid(DHA), respectively. VLDL fraction was separated by ultracentrifugation and chemical composition was determined by thin layer chromatography. Plasma cholesterol level was increased by n6 LA but decreased by n3 LL and n3 EPA in LF and HF diets, and the hypocholesterolemic effect of n3 EPA was most significant in HF diet. HDL-Chol level was raised by n6 LA in LF and HF diets, but significantly reduced by n3 EPA in HF. Plasma TG level was reduced by n6 LA n3 LL and EPA in LF and HF with the reduction of lipogenic enzyme activity only by n3 PUFAs. The proportion of TG in VLDL fraction was significantly lowered by n3 EPA in LF and HF. The proportion of apo-B in VLDL fraction was not changed in LF, but was significantly decreased in HF by n3 EPA. Therefore, the hypotriglyceridemic effect of n3 PUFA could be from the reduced lipogenesis in liver and resulted in the depressed secretion of TG as VLDL in LF and HF with significant lower production of apoB in HF diet.

  • Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space and K a nonempty closed convex subset which is also a nonexpansive retract of E. For i = 1, 2, 3, let $T_i:K{\rightarrow}E$ be an asymptotically nonexpansive mappings with sequence ${\{k_n^{(i)}\}\subset[1,{\infty})$ such that $\sum_{n-1}^{\infty}(k_n^{(i)}-1)$ < ${\infty},\;k_{n}^{(i)}{\rightarrow}1$, as $n{\rightarrow}\infty$ and F(T)=$\bigcap_{i=3}^3F(T_i){\neq}{\phi}$ (the set of all common xed points of $T_i$, i = 1, 2, 3). Let {$a_n$},{$b_n$} and {$c_n$} are three real sequences in [0, 1] such that $\in{\leq}\;a_n,\;b_n,\;c_n\;{\leq}\;1-\in$ for $n{\in}N$ and some ${\in}{\geq}0$. Starting with arbitrary $x_1{\in}K$, define sequence {$x_n$} by setting {$$x_{n+1}=P((1-a_n)x_n+a_nT_1(PT_1)^{n-1}y_n)$$ $$y_n=P((1-b_n)x_n+a_nT_2(PT_2)^{n-1}z_n)$$ $$z_n=P((1-c_n)x_n+c_nT_3(PT_3)^{n-1}x_n)$$. Assume that one of the following conditions holds: (1) E satises the Opial property, (2) E has Frechet dierentiable norm, (3) $E^*$ has Kedec -Klee property, where $E^*$ is dual of E. Then sequence {$x_n$} converges weakly to some p${\in}$F(T).

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the fatty acid composition in Nellore cows supplemented with either linseed (n-3) or canola grains (n-6 and n-9). Fifteen Nellore cows, aged five years and bodyweight 550 kg${\pm}$48 kg, were randomly distributed to the following treatments: CON (control), LIN (linseed) and CAN (canola grains). The cows were fed for 80 days. The concentrations of C18:0, C18:2 n-6 and C20:3 n-6 fatty acid were higher (p<0.10) in CON blood plasma in comparison to follicular liquid. Likewise, PUFA, n-6 contents, PUFA:SFA and n-6:n-3 ratios were higher (p<0.10) in blood plasma. On the other hand, C18:1 n-9, C22:5 n-3, MUFA and n-3 contents were lower (p<0.10) in blood plasma. C18:0, C18:2 n-6, C18:3 n-3, C22:5 n-3, PUFA, n-6, n-3 contents and PUFA:SFA ratio were higher (p<0.10) in LIN blood plasma than in the follicular liquid. Nevertheless, C14:0, C16:0, C16:1 n-7, PUFA, C16:0, C18:1 n-9 and MUFA contents were lower (p<0.10) in LIN blood plasma. On treatment CAN, the C18:0 and SFA contents, and n-6:n-3 ratios were higher (p<0.10) in blood plasma. However, C20:3 n-6, C22:5 n-3, PUFA and n-3 contents were lower (p<0.10) in blood plasma. C16:0, C18:0, PUFA, SFA contents and PUFA:SFA ratio did not differ (p>0.10) among the treatments. C14:0, C16:1 n-7, C18:2 n-6 and n-6 contents were higher (p<0.10) for CON and CAN than LIN. C17:1 n-7, C20:4 n-6 and C 22:0 contents were higher (p<0.10) for CAN than CON and LIN. C18:1 n-9, C18:3 n-3, MUFA and n-3 contents were higher (p<0.10) for LIN and CAN than CON. C20:3 n-6 content and n-6:n-3 ratio were higher (p<0.10) for CON than LIN and CAN. C22:5 n-3 content were higher (p<0.10) for CON and LIN than CAN. The concentrations of fatty acids in blood plasma and follicular liquid were not correlated for any fatty acid, independent of the treatment studied. Canola grain added to the diet of Nellore cows resulted in increased concentrations of fatty acids n-6 and n-3 in follicular liquid.

  • To compare the hypolipidemic effects of n6 linoleic acid. n3 $\alpha$-linolenic acid and n3 eicosapentaenoic acid in rats fed high carbohydrate(70% Cal) diet. male Sprague Dawley rats were fed different experimental diets for 6 weeks. which were different only in fatty acid composition. The dietary fats were beer tallow(BT) as a source of saturated fatty acid (SFA), corn oil(CO) for n6 linoleic acid(LA), perilla oil(PO) for n3 $\alpha$-linolenic acid(LL) and fish oil(FO) for n3 eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) Plasma total cholesterol(Chol) level was increased by n6 LA but decreased by n3 LL and n3 EPA and most effectively reduced by n3 EPA. HDL-Chol level was raised by n6 LA, but there was no significant change in HDL-Chol levels by n3 LL and was lowered by n3 EPA. Plasma TG level was reduced by n6 LA, but lipogenesis in liver was not affected by n6 LA. However, plasma TG level was lowered by n3 LL and EPA. Both lipogenic enzyme activity and liver TC level were also decreased by n3 PUFA. The relative proportions of TG in VLDL was significantly lowered by n3 EPA. but the proportions of Apo B in VLDL was not changed by n3 EPA. Overall. the hypolipidemic effect was in the order of EPA+ DHA(n3) >LL(n3) >LA(n6) and fish oil and perilla oil rich in n3 PUFA may have important nutritional applications in the prevention and treatment of hypertriglyceridemia.

  • We report on the growth and characterization of InGaN/GaN MQWs on two different types of sapphire substrates and GaN substrates. The InGaN/GaN MQWs are grown by using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition. Our analysis of the satellite peaks in the HRXRD patterns shows, GaN substrates InGaN/GaN MQW compared to sapphire substrates InGaN/GaN MQW, more compressive strain on GaN substrates than on sapphire substrates. However, results of optical investigation of InGaN/GaN MQWs grown on GaN substrates and on sapphire substrates, which have lower Stokes-like shift of PL to GaN substrates compared to sapphire substrates, are shown to the potential fluctuation and the quantum-confined Stark effect induced by the built-in internal field due to spontaneous and straininduced piezoelectric polarizations. The InGaN/GaN MQWs are shown to quantify the Stokes-like shift as a function of x.

  • Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space and K be a nonempty closed convex subset of E. Let ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$ be N nonexpansive self-mappings of K with $F\;=\;{\cap}^N_{i=1}F(T_i)\;{\neq}\;{\theta}$ (here $F(T_i)$ denotes the set of fixed points of $T_i$). Suppose that one of the mappings in ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$ is semi-compact. Let $\{{\alpha}_n\}\;{\subset}\;[{\delta},\;1-{\delta}]$ for some ${\delta}\;{\in}\;(0,\;1)$ and $\{{\beta}_n\}\;{\subset}\;[\tau,\;1]$ for some ${\tau}\;{\in}\;(0,\;1]$. For arbitrary $x_0\;{\in}\;K$, let the sequence {$x_n$} be defined iteratively by $\{{x_n\;=\;{\alpha}_nx_{n-1}\;+\;(1-{\alpha}_n)T_ny_n,\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; \atop {y_n\;=\;{\beta}nx_{n-1}\;+\;(1-{\beta}_n)T_nx_n},\;{\forall}_n{\geq}1,}$, where $T_n\;=\;T_{n(modN)}$. Then {$x_n$} convergence strongly to a common fixed point of the mappings family ${\{T_i\}}^N_{i=1}$. The result presented in this paper generalized and improve the corresponding results of Chidume and Shahzad [C. E. Chidume, N. Shahzad, Strong convergence of an implicit iteration process for a finite family of nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 62(2005), 1149-1156] even in the case of ${\beta}_n\;{\equiv}\;1$ or N=1 are also new.

  • In this study. we report the properties of optically pumped stimulated emission at room temperature (RT) from column-III nitride semiconductors of GaN, GaInN, AlGaN/GaN double hetero-structure (DH) and AlGaN/GaInN DH which grown by low pressure metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy on sapphire substrate using an AIN buffer-layer. The peak wavelength of the stimulated emission at RT from AlGaN/GaN DH is 370nm and the threshold of excitation pumping power density (P$\_$th/) is about 89㎾/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and they from AlGaN/GaInN DH are 403nm and 130㎾/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The P$\_$th/ of AlGaN/GaN and AlGaN/GaInN DHs are lower than the bulk materials due to optical confinement within the active layers of GaN and GaInN. The optical gain and the polarization of stimulated emission characteristics are presented in this article.
