Actuator-induced disturbance is one of the crucial factors of spacecraft attitude pointing and stability in fine attitude control problems. The control moment gyros (CMGs) are known as very attractive actuators from the point of high power and low weight. In order to develop a CMG as an actuator for fine controls, CMG-induced disturbances should be analyzed. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an analytic model and predict the effect of disturbances of CMGs by assuming static and dynamic imbalances. The proposed model is induced by the Lagrangian method on the basis of the small signal assumption. In this research, mechanical system of the CMG is designed and the main components of CMG are producted.

A new approach for maximizing torque capability of low efficient reaction wheel assembly is addressed in this paper. At first, to find out a solution in constrainted field, weighted pseudo-inverse and momentum minimized allocation are suggested instead of a general control allocation called pseudo-inverse. The second method is a structural manner to enlarge torque capability of specific axis by changing installed skew angle of wheels. Two proposed methods are applied to large angle maneuvers of satellite. Improvement of control performance and feasibility for applying to commercial satellite attitude control are demonstrated by numeric simulations.

We present a permanent magnet-based spherical wheel motor that can be used in omnidirectional mobility applications. The proposed motor consists of a ball-shaped rotor with a magnetic dipole and a hemispherical shell with circumferential air-core coils attached to the outer surface acting as a stator. Based on the rotational symmetry of the rotor poles and stator coils, we are able to model the rotor poles and stator coils as dipoles. A simple physical model constructed based on a torque model enables fast numerical simulations of motor dynamics. Based on these numerical simulations, we test various control schemes that enable constant-speed rotation along arbitrary axes with small rotational attitude error. Torque analysis reveals that the back electromotive force induced in the coils can be used to construct a control scheme that achieves the desired results. Numerical simulations of trajectories confirm that even without explicit methods for correcting the rotational attitude error, it is possible to drive the motor with a low attitude error (<5°) using the proposed control scheme.

The ability to overcome obstacles is necessary for field robots for various applications including the ability to climb stairs. While much research has been performed focusing on overcoming obstacles, the resulting robots do not have sufficient ability to overcome obstacles such as stairs. In this research, the purpose is to overcome relatively large obstacles by flipping locomotion through the modification of the stair climbing robotic platform of the previous research. We propose two scenarios to overcome large obstacles: a rear wheel driving system and an elevation system using a ball screw. The research is performed based on static analyses on obstacle-climbing. As the simulation results indicate, we determined the optimal posture of the robot for climbing obstacles for rear wheel driving. Also, an elevation system is analyzed for obstacle climbing. Between the two scenarios an elevation system is determined to reduce the operating torque of the actuator, and the prototype was recently assembled. The climbing ability of the robotic platform is verified. We expect the application area for this robotic platform will be in accident areas of nuclear power plants.
The fatigue happening during the road riding of the vehicle and for the moment the aircraft lands on the runway is closely related to the life cycle of the landing gear, the airframe, the vehicle's suspension, etc. The multiple loads acting on the wheel are longitudinal, lateral, vertical, and braking forces. To study the dynamic characteristics and fatigue stiffness of the vehicle, the dynamic fatigue simulator generally has been used to represent the real road vibration in the lab. It can save time and cost. In hardware, the critical factor in the hydraulic fatigue simulator structure is to decouple each axis and to endure several load vibration. In this paper, the inverse kinematic analysis method derives the magnitude of movement of the hydraulic servo actuator by the coupling after rendering the maximum movement displacement in the axial direction at the center of the dummy wheel. The result of the analysis is that the coupling between the axes is weak to reproduce the real road vibrations precisely.

We study X-axis or Y-axis high agile attitude control method, using four reaction wheels and two control moment gyros. Since normal satellites use same actuators, researchers design an attitude controller first, and then allocate torque commands to each actuator. However, our satellite uses both control moment gyros and reaction wheels, whose torque output differences are very large. Therefore, we cannot apply normal attitude controller design procedure. In this paper, we solve this problem by combining actuator torque command and attitude controller. Through numerical simulations, we show that our method enables satellite high agility.

A technology of full time four wheel drive(4WD) vehicle has been improved greatly, and the market share of full time 4WD has been extended steadily in recent days. The transfer case is an essential element in the 4WD automobile. In this paper, the details of electronically controlled transfer case is described. In order to achieve easy shifting, the shifting, the developed system automate the conversion of "$4\times2\longleftrightarrow4\times4(H)\longleftrightarrow4\times4(L)$". Furthmore, this system employs an chain drive type instead of gear drive type for drive type and synchromesh type instead of constant-mesh type for gear mesh type. Therefore, the developed transfer case is accomplished light-weight, low noise, and compact.d compact.

This paper presents the design and implementation of embedded systems and autonomous path generation for autonomous speed sprayer. Autonomous Orchard Systems can be divided into embedded controller and path generation module. Embedded controller receives analog sensor data, on/off switch data and control linear actuator, break, clutch and steering module. In path generation part, we get 3D cloud point using Velodyne VLP16 LIDAR sensor and process the point cloud to generate maps, do localization, generate driving path. Then, it finally generates velocity and rotation angle in real time, and sends the data to embedded controller. Embedded controller controls steering wheel based on the received data. The developed autonomous speed sprayer is verified in test-bed with apple tree-shaped artworks.
An approach to enhance dimensional accuracy of the grinding process has been presented, and grinding of a glass material with a metal-bonded diamond wheel has been studied. In this study, a grinding tool is suspended flexibly and controlled by an electromagnetic actuator. During grinding, profile error of a ground surface is indirectly measured and fed back to a control system. A model of grinding error has been suggested on which the indirect measurement has been based. An optimal PID control is adopted and effectiveness of the in-process feedback control has been verified experimentally.
The purpose of this paper is to study for turbocharger system in a vehicle of diesel engine. The first example, it certified the fact that a car engine is not to accelerate by clogged the exhaust tube as the turbine was damaged because of turbine wheel broken. The a vehicle with turbocharger must to stop engine operation after maintaining the appropriate idle revolution as it can be the sticking phenomenon if the operator immediately stop the engine being high revolution. The second example, it knew the phenomenon of acceleration faulty that the rod of VGT actuator that operating the turbocharger adhered with the bracket of VGT. The third example, it confirmed the power insufficiency phenomenon when driving by of alternator resistor and fan intercooler fan relay connector mistaken assembly. Therefore, the operator have to scrutinize manage no the failure of turbocharger system.
