  • The marginal implicit price of air quality can be measured by taking a partial derivative of hedonic price function (HPF) with respect to the level of air quality. It has been pointed out that the size of the marginal implicit price varies with the use of different function forms, different estimation methods, and the different ways of measuring air quality level in estimating HPF. In addition to these factors, this study shows theoretically and empirically the way housing properties are represented on a digital map could differentiate the size of marginal implicit price of air quality when GIS is used to measure location attributes of the housing properties in the Korean apartment market. Furthermore, this study shows that the degree of difference in the marginal implicit price due to the manner in which housing properties are represented on a digital map can be larger than the degree of difference in the marginal implicit price due to using different function forms and estimation methods. The major implication from the results of this study is that one should carefully try diverse ways of representing housing properties in the Korean apartment market on a digital map in the process of estimating HPF, as he or she usually tries diverse function forms and estimation methods, to see if the value of the marginal implicit price of air quality varies substantially.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the impacts of persuasion knowledge and pre-attitude on responses to a persuasive entertainment education program. Persuasion knowledge model was adopted as the theoretical frame and information about the sensational identity of entertainment program was used to activate audience's persuasion knowledge(i.e. resistance). Pre-attitude was measured by the degree of concern about the persuasion topic. The experiment was designed by persuasion knowledge(2) ${\times}$ pre-attitude(2) and participants were randomly assigned in one of the conditions and rated their attitude for the persuasion topic. The implicit measure for attitude was included in addition to the explicit measures in order to reveal unconscious attitudinal changes. The results showed that the allegedly effective entertainment-education can confront the resistance of the audience in some contexts. A significant interaction of knowledge ${\times}$ pre-attitude was found in the result of the implicit attitude. The individuals with high concern about the persuasion topic, compared to those with low concern, were more influenced by the entertainment program and also persuasion knowledge. The interaction was not significant on the explicit attitude, which may present the usefulness of the implicit measure in entertainment-education research.

  • In this paper, we propose an HMM(Hidden Markov modeJ)-MLP(Multi-layer perceptron) hybrid model for recognizing legal words on the English bank check. We adopt an explicit segmentation-based word level architecture to implement an HMM engine with nonscaled and non-normalized symbol vectors. We also introduce an MLP for implicit segmentation-based word recognition. The final recognition model consists of a hybrid combination of the HMM and MLP with a new hybrid probability measure. The main contributions of this model are a novel design of the segmentation-based variable length HMMs and an efficient method of combining two heterogeneous recognition engines. ExperimenLs have been conducted using the legal word database of CENPARMI with encouraging results.

  • As the demand for the design of modular manipulators or special purpose manipulators has increased, task based design to design an optimal manipulator for a given task become more and more important. However, the complexity with a large number of design parameters, and highly nonlinear and implicit functions are characteristics of a general manipulator design. To achieve the goal of task based design, it is necessary to develop a methodology to solve the complexity. This paper addresses how to determine the kinematic parameters of a two-degrees of freedom manipulator with parallelogram five-bar link mechanism from a given task, namely, how to map a given task into the kinematic parameters. With simplified example of designing a manipulator with five-bar link mechanism, the methodology for task based design is presented. And it introduces formulations of a given task and manipulator specifications, and presents a new dexterity measure for manipulator design. Also the optimization problem with constraints is solved by using a genetic algorithm that provides robust search in complex spaces.

  • It is the latest fashion of interesting with software education in public school environment and also consider as high priority issue of curriculum for college freshman with programming 101 courses. The block-based programming tool is used widely for the beginner and provides several positive features compare than text-based programming language tools. To measure quality of programming code elaborately which is based script language, it is need to very tough manual process. As a result the previously research related with evaluation of block-based script code has been focused very simple methods in which normalize the number of blocks used which is related with programming concept. In such cases in this, it is difficult to measure structural vulnerability of script code and implicit programming concept which does not expose. In this research, the framework is proposed which enable to measure and evaluate quality of code script of block-based programming tools and also provides method to find of vulnerability of script code. In this framework, the quality metrics is constructed to structuralize implicit programming concept and then developed the quality measure and vulnerability model of script to improve level of programming. Consequently, the proposed methods enable to check of level of programming and predict the heuristic target level.

  • Abortion is prohibited in the Philippines by the law of Christianity. Korean fathers wanted abortions when Filipino mothers were pregnant with their babies (Kopino). However, Filipino mothers had to give birth to the Kopino babies. Therefore, Kopino mothers bring up their babies alone. This study tried to measure and compare what Korean and Filipino evaluate towards Kopino mothers explicitly or implicitly. In addition, this study examined how their attitudes towards Kopino mothers change when the Christianity was primed. As a result of this study, Filipino participants, both explicitly and implicitly, liked more about Kopino mothers than Korean participants. Also, Korean participants showed a little positive explicit attitude and implicit attitude towards Kopino mothers. However, Korean males answered that they liked Kopino mothers at the explicit scale, but they had a negative attitude against Kopino mothers at the implicit level. After activating the Christianity by priming, Filipino participants showed a significant increase of positive attitude towards Kopino mothers at the implicit level. On the other hand, Korean participants remained unaffected. Hence, the priming effect of Christianity varied by country. This study confirmed that Korean females didn't have prejudice against Kopino mothers like Filipino but Korean males had prejudice against them.

  • In a modern society, people are concerned seriously about their travel destinations depending on time, economic problem. In this paper, we propose an non-hierarchical clustering based hybrid recommendation using context knowledge. The proposed method is personalized way of recommended knowledge about preferred travel places according to the user's location, place, and weather. Based on 14 attributes from the data collected through the survey, users with similar characteristics are grouped using a non-hierarchical clustering based hybrid recommendation. This makes more accurate recommendation by weighting implicit and explicit data. The users can be recommended a preferred travel destination without spending unnecessary time. The performance evaluation uses accuracy, recall, F-measure. The evaluation result was shown 0.636 accuracy, 0.723 recall, and 0.676 F-measure.

  • In this study, we consider infinite supply of raw materials and backlogged demands as given two boundary conditions. And we need not make any specific assumptions about the inter-arrival of external demand and service time distributions. Under these situations, the ultimate objective of this study is to prove the variability propagation principle in a pull serial line and is to measure it in terms of the first two moments of the inter-departure process subject to number of cards in each cell. Two preparations are required to achieve this objective : The one is to derive a true lower bound of variance of the inter-departure process. The other is to establish a constrained discrete minimax problem for the no backorder (backlogging) probabilities in each cell. We may get some fundamental results necessary to a completion for the proof through the necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of optimal solution of a constrained discrete minimax problem and the implicit function theorem. finally, we propose a numeric model to measure the variability propagation principle. Numeric examples show the validity and applicability of our study.

  • With the development of GPS and the popularity of mobile devices with positioning capability, collecting massive amounts of trajectory data is feasible and easy. The daily trajectories of moving objects convey a concise overview of their behaviors. Different social roles have different trajectory patterns. Therefore, we can identify users or groups based on similar trajectory patterns by mining implicit life patterns. However, most existing daily trajectories mining studies mainly focus on the spatial and temporal analysis of raw trajectory data but missing the essential semantic information or behaviors. In this paper, we propose a novel trajectory semantics calculation method to identify groups that have similar behaviors. In our model, we first propose a fast and efficient approach for stay regions extraction from daily trajectories, then generate semantic trajectories by enriching the stay regions with semantic labels. To measure the similarity between semantic trajectories, we design a semantic similarity measure model based on spatial and temporal similarity factor. Furthermore, a pruning strategy is proposed to lighten tedious calculations and comparisons. We have conducted extensive experiments on real trajectory dataset of Geolife project, and the experimental results show our proposed method is both effective and efficient.
